Good morning! I love how I've been following Tala so long now that I've learned some of her roster of OCs, even the ones I haven't interacted with. Currently a spider and vampire on my dash. I am pleased with myself :) @nvrcmplt

Anyway, I'm going to be gone most of the day. I told my nieces I would take them to Old Navy which is an hour away from here. Wish me luck as I'm not used to driving around potentially congested areas without my mom or sister to help navigate.

Also I love the influx of Naruto content on tiktok lately. I'm just tickled that people are JUST now realizing how super not straight Naruto and Sasuke are. In addition, it's not JUST those two. Have they met Gaara? And granted its more so Naruto with heart eyes towards him than anything but still. Kakashi? Iruka? Obito? Hashirama and Madara? Kishimoto did the thing without doing the thing but its there. I'm just so amused that some guys are in their feelings that Naruto is at best bi. He just loves everyone.

As a side note, I love how that spin off dresses Neji and Gaara like girls. Rock Lee and his ninja pals is pure crack / fan service.

It was rare that Thranduil took it upon himself to walk the sea's shores. He supposed he simply did not take to the serenity of it quite like others who enjoyed the sound of waves. He much preferred streams and springs; places that fit the aesthetic of solitude which was deeply engrained into one constantly grieving his faults. Still, silver boots carried him across the shores, feet casually bypassing a sizable tide pool --- one of many --- that had been recently exposed by the ebb and flow of the waves. Thranduil had only taken a few paces past when he finally paused, senses picking up on the presence of another. He withdrew his sword rather quickly spinning around with sword clasped as if preparing for a threat.

However, he would pause upon sight and though the person appeared that of another elf, he was not one of HIS elves which begged the question as to why he was here. Thranduil did not put away his sword although he did lower it; a sign that --- for the time being anyway --- he wasn't opposed to taking a less than hasty approach. His son would have been proud. The old him likely would have threatened to take his head… or would have done so anyway. With the two of them being alone out here, few would be none the wiser. Even so…

"You must have someone looking down upon you favorably. I often strike first and ask questions after the other has submitted." He paused. "Or perished."

Earlier on I did a bit of meditation (aka, sitting with drony music on low and trying to not think about anything for like 30 minutes) my dearest brain of whom I'm not on the best of terms with right now decided to gimme a very very vivid image of Atem sat next to me. So vivid I could almost touch, hehe.

Anyway the second I stopped doing sadboi brooding hours, I immediately scribbled down what I saw.

I wish I could truly capture how ethereal this man is to me. One day I'll get there. My art is very steadily improving. Younger me would be proud that my Atem's look like this now I think... I hope ദ്ദി(｡•̀ ᗜ<)

They were drifting and though Beschutzer was hoping for more conversation, he also knew ones mind played in their own tandem. The idea that the world they once knew was no longer, Beschutzer wasn't Atem, he couldn't fathom the void of his mind, he couldn't fathom what it was he knew or what he forgot or what he believed to be fake, real or a mixed dream - but Beschutzer knew time. He lived it for eons, waiting for that one spark. That one sensation that woke him from his slumber amongst sand and in the depths of caves lost to progression. The day that puzzle piece was placed together was the day his eyes woke, and his howl sang with delight.

The man before him, though young and with a face that was similar to what he knew eons on end was almost a new reborn soul. Relearning the steps of their grander shadow but also at the same time, not following the same path because the fate of the world was not needed a new Pharaoh but gracing that Pharaoh a new lease of life and freedom. Beschutzer, just wished to be at his side as always. As yearned for.

When words were finally back between them, Beschutzer turned to fully face them. Hands in pockets and smile slight, gaze smitten with their revealing of current lack of gold things and his head lowered to allow his gaze to settle upon wristbands and collar. "They are some… stylish choices. It suits your… you, in that detail." He was about to speak of a vessel, like he knew, but he held himself still in the tongue. A trip of the language, he will use. "Friends?" He speaks with a growing smile, after all this time, though he had companions and family that stuck to his sides in the sands, they weren't able to claim friendship from the ruler of their kingdom. Lashings and ridicule, punishments and acts of sub-service were always eroding those connections.

The death of them too.

"That is good." He was proud of that, sure he's seen a few familiar faces, even today but to think they were claimed such from those lips. Yes, this Pharaoh was no longer a lonely creature on at throne with his shadow for the only conversation without deceit. "I'm glad you have such a group. Jewellery stores are good to browse… though I recommend this place." Hand from pocket, card of black, writing in gold and hieroglyphics even. [ Nameless ], a simple card but it held a hum of something else within its layers. In certain light, at a certain time - Atem will witness the Eye of the Millennium Pendant at dusk. Though for now, Beschutzer was merely passing it along. "This is a private collectors store, you can only access it with this card so it may be an event for you and your friends." On it's back was a map, noting it was close but also far? Strange.

"I may see you within it, one day?"

Yami was grateful for the man's patience because any other person might have thought him crazy. The way he would simply check out mid-convo was probably a huge red flag to most people yet this stranger had not alluded to Yami's strangeness at all. Perhaps the strange man thought it was some type of mental disorder, but regardless Yami was grateful he didn't have to enter awkward territory discussing his check outs. He couldn't fathom trying to explain that he had another voice inside his head.

"Thank you... even if I think you are simply being polite." And for the first time during their exchange, Yami's features would crack a hint of a smile; a sign of rare comfort. Yami was a highly guarded sprit and fiercely protective of his and Yugi's space, but unknowingly he was letting his guard down some. Even if he would have been made aware of it, he wouldn't have been able to explain why.

"Ah yes. I have friends now. I think." They were mostly Yugi's friends, but he was fairly certain they considered him a friend too even if, at times, his rage got the best of him. He had frightened them on more than one occassion which had prompted him to stay silent during Yugi's duels. He had to respect his host even if his first instinct was to hurt people, even kill them, when they threatened his friends.

Yami watched as the man handed him a small, black card. There were odd symbols that he and Yugi knew to be the language of his people. Coptic. Yami studied the card, flipping it over to the back.

Yugi's voice in his head was a little distracting but he nodded. The card was...confusing at best as was the map. Even so, if anyone could help him read the map and find the place, it was Yugi. He was rather good at puzzles while Yami was not yet comfortable relying on himself to properly read a map.

Yami pulled himself out of his own head and nodded. "Right. Of course. Perhaps you will. Thank you."

Yami pulled himself out of his head, feeling somewhat embarrassed. The man likely thought him crazy and so before this could get any more embarrassing, he made to leave.

"Thank you again for this. I should... get home. There's a tournament coming up that I should prepare for. I really do not like the idea of losing."

Music… was an escape to all things that needed that respite of life. Living was a chore and a hassle but immortals, those that could keep their hearts beating for years to come and with no end in sight should they keep them away from stakes and flames. The world was just a large movie that didn't have any credits. Didn't stop. Didn't take a break. Didn't do anything to help the situation of being too much and too noisy but sometimes, just that little moment of a jingle, strings humming in the delight of the bows drawl - the momentary need for silence of one's mind. Comes from the ripple of sound.

The Cello, was Narciso's escape from his long life, watching fire burn on endless candles, the endless flow of rivers and rain on window panes, witnessing the shadows of his underground world know nothing more than such shades of black on black, on top of stone walls and winding metals that shouldn't and yet fitted in perfectly with this world. Where he watched the birth and burial of the humans that lived in their reach. The sounds of the world barely changed compared to the low notes of his strings.

The cut-off took the overstimulation and eased it into nothing, allowing his mind to lull into calmness, allow his lashes to fall in a trance and his body to move with his beloved instrument that was played with hundreds of years of practice in his talents. As fingers shake strings into vibrato, when they stroke the length of the neck with ease, turned tuning peg for that right tone and then more movements of the bow. The ebb and flow of life in sounds made his blood run well, made his skin shimmer with sweat so seemingly long and forgotten to their species. As his hair bounces with his passion of such entertainment - the Son of the Architect could only smile with fangs extended in the excitement of finishing his piece…

As he relished in the thrill and adrenaline of it all, he forgot for the fact that he had an audience even… As his head snapped up with colour flooding his features, his lips dark in their shade of purple-ish red, he found himself bashful… Laughing even as his music slowed from the walls and returned to the silence of the music room. Oh, how it felt wonderful here though, this domain of joy in the strings of an instrument well-made. "… Thank you for listening, Adrian." He smiled more even, retracting his gaze to instead allow himself to relax on his seat. The bow lowered to his lap to not be harmed, and his wrist flexed with fingers curving to follow the tension to ease it with slow rotations and stretches.

As his head rose to allow chest to breathe in his blouse, his hair was pulled backwards by a hum of red and glimmer of a glowing eyes. Tied out the way, nape cooling quickly with the passionate heat subsiding now. "Do give your feedback if you have anything to share, Signore. It has been a long time since I've shared such new sheets with new ears." Though, he didn't let the instrument go just yet from between his thighs, he did adjust his posture to more casual pose. Allowing himself to really relax in the cooling from his own excitement.

One of the things Adrian was most guilty of was forgetting to stop and enjoy what life had to offer. He would awaken from his slumber for whatever purpose that might be and instead of allowing himself to sit and reintroduce himself to all the new distractions of the world, he simply scoffed at it all choosing to focus on his mission. Because where had that gotten him in the past? Visiting Vincenzo was more or less due to a summons from the elder vampire. Vincenzo did not say as much, but Adrian knew the elder vamp wanted to lay eyes upon him; to look into his eyes and make certain he was not unraveling in the manner that Dracula had done.

He further suspected that the reason Narciso was introduced to him was an attempt to acclimate Adrian into the world again. Perhaps if Adrian had someone willing to get to know him as a friend, perhaps he wouldn't unravel or venture the world alone again. Adrian applauded Vincenzo for his efforts. Indeed Narciso had all the talent to keep someone who valued music and class attentive or busy. But he didn't know how long he could stick around and act like his father's crash out hadn't given him a bad name by association either. It was far easier for Adrian to travel the world alone. He popped up and did what was necessary if he happened upon a problem. Otherwise, most people feared him. Subjecting the world to his presence seemed counterintuitive.

Ah, but the music was mellowing out some of these thoughts even as eyes drifted across delicate hands moving slowly, directing a bow to play some of the most beautiful chords he had heard in quite some time. When was the last time he listened to music? Not since his father for certain and that was indeed a long time ago. Adrian sat, enthralled by the entire performance although truth be told, it wasn't just the music that he was watching. An instrument like the cello required movement of body; precision with muscle memory. It was obvious that Narciso had taken his learning of the instrument seriously. There was naught a hesitation in his movements and the vigor in which he played had skin glistening - a rarity for a vampire. Narciso played like a man who wanted to tell a story although Adrian could hardly pry too much. Whatever Narciso thought about as he played was his own instrument of passion. He was just happy to have been able to witness such muscial genius. It reminded him of how he used to indulge in such things back when his father was less consumed with the ideas of revenge.

He nodded, a smile playing at his lips. The usually stoic vampire stood and approached Narciso, eyes trailing from the glorious instrument to the one who just made it a weapon for the senses. "You play quite spiritedly... passionately... as if you are telling a story. I was moved. I have not taken the time to let music seduce my soul in a long time --- not since my father." He paused. "No reason in particular. I suppose I forget that music is a thing."

He bowed. "You are magnificent. Were you to play for the humans at one of their choice theaters, I daresay you would move them to tears. Thank you for sharing your talents with me. Will be a fond memory to think back over once I leave again."

Where are all the black butler blogs? Because Sebastian and some of the others have been popping up on my feed lately via tiktok and I'm just feeling nostalgic for that hell of a butler. And IDK why. Because NONE of my characters would give him the time of day. MAYBE my pharaoh but mostly because he enjoys questionable company if they can entertain him.

Anyway, back to replies. I need to get a few new things going now that I have time to actually write for the next 4 weeks. So if we've plotted or talked about doing things, get at me so we can figure out a starting point.

The scent of charred wood still clung to the city like a burial shroud as he quickly tightened the straps of the plain wool cloak around Daenerys’ shoulders, too large, deliberately so, swallowing her slight frame whole. The dye was uneven, the fabric scratchy against her neck, but it hid the silver of her hair when she kept the hood drawn low. He had stolen it from a drunk merchant passed out near the docks, trading the man’s cloak for a finer one left draped over a crate, a petty kindness, perhaps, but theft sat easier on his conscience when the victim woke richer for it.

"You’ll need to walk like you’re tired.”

He murmured, pressing a worn leather satchel into her hands. It held a waterskin, a wedge of cheese wrapped in waxed parchment, and a single silver coin, the last of his wages from Meereen’s treasury. She wished to leave, he had everything set for it, he could not understand, how things are for her, all she has gone through, the betrayal as well, to be cast into the darkness and to claw out, but his oath, was to protect her, shield her, guide her, he would keep it.

"Shoulders slumped, feet dragging. Not too much, or you’ll draw attention for being weak. Just enough to look like you’ve worked a full day hauling nets."

As he took her hand, not as a knight to his queen, but as a man pulling a drowning woman from deep water. Her fingers were cold despite the desert heat, the bones too prominent under his grip, but she didn’t resist as he guided her toward the servants’ passage behind the tapestry. The woven scene of Ghiscari conquests hid a narrow stairwell, its stones worn smooth by generations of slaves slipping unseen to their masters’ chambers. Now it would serve a different kind of escape.

He saw that she stumbled on the first step, her sandal catching the hem of her borrowed tunic, roughspun linen dyed the dull brown of a fieldhand’s clothes. He caught her elbow before she could fall. "Watch the third stair." He murmured. "It’s rotten." The warning came too late for his own boot, which punched through the weakened wood with a splintering crack. They froze, listening for shouts, but only the distant clang of a blacksmith’s hammer answered. The city was too busy licking its wounds to notice two more ghosts slipping away. As he got her through this and to where the horses awaited.

“Come on.”

The horses smelled of smoke and sour sweat when Barristan led them from the shadow of Meereen’s ruined aqueduct, two swaybacked geldings with ribs like harp strings and coats matted with old scars. “They’re not trained for ladies.” He said, rubbing the beast’s nose with a calloused palm. The horse exhaled hot breath through flared nostrils, then nudged his shoulder as if expecting hidden apples. "These are runners. Know every alley from the fighting pits to the Pyramid of Hazkar." He said, as he checked them both over and ensured they were ready and willing to go.

“They will get us away from here, far away, enough supplies and water for the both of us, enough coin as well, do ensure you will be safe.”

Daenerys was terrified of this next adventure. Or rather, she was choosing to see this grand escape by herself and her brave knight as another adventure. It made all of her failures easier to swallow as they fled the great city with the pyramid. She had hastily dyed her hair and it was an uneven color that, in her mind, likely sold the peasant look far better than even coloring. She looked 'comely', with clothes far too large for her slender body. But as the knight once said, where they were passing through it might be best to appear hungry than well fed in clothing that fit.

And so she endured the discomfort, quietly taking his direction each step of the way. There was a time some odd years ago when there wasn't much need to mimic the part of a tired woman. She was tired back then with feet growing blisters after walking for hours upon end begging. Viserys had been a lot kinder then; they still had items from their home to barter and trade. It was when they ran out of things to trade when the darkness reared its ugly head in his heart. Dany had to wonder if darkness would return to her own should her and the knight have too hard of a time.

She hoped to whatever gods that were left that such would not be the case.

She clung tightly to the satchel in her hands, never wavering at his side. Seeing his head of silver and the strength in which he moved gave her the courage to keep following him. In some strange manner, the roles were now completely reversed. Barristan, the brave knight, was now the leader while she was assuming a lesser role. And for once in her life, she found herself okay with that because the burden to make all the decisions was no longer on her back. She could walk blankly beside him and aside from following his directions and using her head to watch for danger, she could relax some while they moved. She hadn't had the privledge in such a long time.

Dany slumped her shoulders a bit more and began dragging her feet as prompted. The upright, perfect posture was not necessary for this adventure. She had to play a completely different role and with each whispered word, she fell into character. It took longer to make headway now that she had to think so much about how she was moving, but she guessed that was for the best. Too much haste might draw eyes upon them despite appearances.

Dany felt the knight's cool, calloused hand fall into her own. She never hesitated to embrace it, her dainty pale hand which she purposely covered in dirt, rested comfortably within his own. She indeed stumbled on the first step, but was more cautious about the next few. Her only pause would come when the knight suddenly went still. They were listening, but nothing of note could be heard and so she followed him deeper, their adventure nearing the end of its first course.

Where he led her brought them to horses he had purchased for them both. Or she assumed they were purchased. At this point, it hardly mattered since they would not be returning. The horses didn't seem too friendly as she approached the first. It gave her a right sniff then flared its nostrils. It was unlike her silver baby that was long gone by now.

She killed the thought. Don't think back. Only think about the now.

"If I can stomach a dragon, I should hope I can handle a rough ride." She tried to sound brave. Dany eventually looked around as she settled by the first horse. Barristan was quick to aid her in getting up on there, the large, bulky clothing making things rather difficult. Once in place, she waited for him to take the lead. She only hoped the horse would obey and at the very least, simply follow the other one. This was really happening and once the horses took them away there could be no changing of minds. She had to commit no matter how scary this seemed.

"At your lead ser," she managed quietly. Her eyes looked out over the horizon while her mind seemed to replay key moments from her time on this side of Essos. From gathering the Second Sons to meeting Grey Worm, a time was had here in these lands. She found herself blinking back tears, but she fought them off. She would not cry. Not yet.

They were seated on the couch, probably a little too closely if Mokuba were to walk by. Of course, they had become somewhat experts at making excuses to shift a little bit closer or lean in a bit more just to bask in each other's space. It was a quiet intimacy that was often reserved for couples but regardless of what they were ( or were not ), it was something of a habit that had yet to be broken since this past Christmas.

And so Atem found himself looking up from his book, giving Kaiba a curious look. He had to wonder why such a question was posed, but he didn't question it. Instead, he focused on the context at hand as he reached up to lightly brush fingers against his forearm.

"You are a far better person than I will ever be. Whatever gave you the idea that you are not?" he questioned, head tilted curiously. "You are a man with billions of dollars and power that rivals that of many world leaders yet instead of abusing your power, you give back to the world in ways most will not. Your attitude isn't always a reflection of what's in your heart but that hardly makes you a bad person. It makes you HUMAN, and a guarded one, but I would never fault you for that. How can I when I am not much better at letting people see the real me all the time?"

Considering they were already sitting too close to be considered normal anyway, he had no trouble lifting his head to brush a kiss to his temple. "Seto, you are the kindest man I know. I am most certain Mokuba would agree."
