I hooked up my old Vcr at @erodingwinds HQ, and decided to go thrifting today to build up a work movie library. Didn't do too bad! Mega stoked on Waterworld and Stargate, for sure.

Thanks to @decibelmagazine for their recognition of Dead To A Dying World and False on their list of Top 40 metal albums of 2015.

To celebrate the oncoming new year, new decade, and new life for the label, I have been working with @aaronhorkey to craft an image to serve as the new official emblem of Gilead Media. Aaron has long been one of my favorite artists, and he has long been a supporter of the label. I've wanted to work with him in some capacity since I first started Gilead Media, so I'm very pleased and honored that this dream is fulfilled in the creation of a logo. To me this further solidifies Gilead Media's identity as a label dedicated to supporting thought provoking, unique art regardless of medium.

#31daysofhorror Day 6: DEAD WEIGHT (2012) - This is a super low budget non-zombie film I co wrote and co directed a few years ago with my old pal John. We self released the film and had a bunch of luck with genre blog reviews (even Ain't It Cool News said some nice stuff) and lots of horror film festivals. Before a distributor picked it up and tried to market it to the walking dead redbox audience with unbelievably bad artwork. So it goes, I guess. I still treasure the time we spent creating this, and all of the friendships forged during production. RIYL: Slow burns, drama in your horror, first feature films.

Noisey has premiered the new Dead To A Dying World album, Litany, in full. There are bands that come along occasionally that push to defy genre classification and mold their own sound, their own place in the world of heavy music. I believe DTADW are one of those bands. Litany is one of the most dynamic records I've been lucky enough to release. I hope you give it a listen, and that you feel the sorrow, dread, and beauty that I hear. It's October! For the first time ever I'm going to try and bust out 31 horror films this month. #1 THE BABADOOK (2014) - A film with a great concept and amazing imagery, but by the end the story fell a bit flat for me. I ultimately felt like the film didn't follow through on the third act on the promises of the first two. I might give this one a second chance in time. And the acting performance for the role of Samuel was amazing. Without that I would've probably had little to no interest by the end of the film. I felt like I saw lots of The Shining worship in this. #31daysofhorror

I wanted to take a better photo of their front window, but we were in a hurry to get to the airport after we spent a wee bit too long digging through the overwhelmingly awesome Broken Press archives.
