Say goodbye to the wine waist
Thereʼs nothing wrong with enjoying a drink — unless, of course, youʼre trying to stay trim. Ten ounces of wine can contain the same number of calories as a slice of cake. Over a month, the casual drinker can add as much as 7,000 calories to their diet from alcohol. That can add up to two pounds a month, or 24 pounds a year. Adults who drink, even an average amount, consume about 10 per cent of their calories through alcohol.
Rule #1: Always eat when you drink
While it’s wise to factor in the calories from the cocktails you consume, it’s more important to eatright than to eat less. Most cocktails are loaded with simple carbohydrates, so during a night of drinking, people often end up with soaring blood sugar levels, followed by a “crash” that leaves them ravenously hungry. You can counteract this effect by nibbling on foods that provide long-lasting energy. Before you go out, eat dinner or a snack with protein, fibre and healthy fat. These foods stabilize blood-sugar levels without slowing your metabolism. By grabbing a bite before you drink, that glass of wine or cosmopolitan will be absorbed more slowly into the bloodstream, minimizing its diet-damaging effects.
Rule #2: Know that some drinks make you hungrier than others
When it comes to waist-friendly cocktails, the simpler the drink, the better the choice. Not only do the overly sweet and fancy drinks tend to have more calories, but the additional sugar can make you even hungrier. They will cause your blood sugar to skyrocket even higher than it does from beer or wine, making the plummet (and resulting cravings) even worse. Keep it simple with a glass of wine, beer or a mixed drink made with club soda.
Rule #3: Stick to a drink or two, tops
One drink a day is widely accepted as the definition of moderate drinking for women. However, there tends to be a misconception that you can go without alcohol all week and save your seven drinks for the weekend. This is actually one of the worst things you can do for your weight (and your health)! When you binge drink, your body must process hundreds of alcohol calories before it can continue to break down food calories or stored fat. Plus, all those drinks throw your blood sugar right out of whack and cause extreme hunger. When you consume too much alcohol, you will also be likely to make poor choices when it comes to ordering food. To put things in perspective, those four drinks you down every Saturday night can add up to about 10 extra pounds a year!
Rule #4: Beware of that extreme hunger the next day
The morning after a night of drinking poses a new diet challenge. In addition to a hangover, you are probably also fighting cravings for large amounts of cheesy, greasy fast food. Part of the problem is that you’re dehydrated, and this can make you even hungrier. The body needs energy to resolve the effects of drinking, so it wants the richest source of energy it can find, which is fat. Greasy foods also tend to settle the stomach a little bit, too. Remember to drink a glass of water for every drink you have as well as before going to bed. Drink more water in the morning along with a snack that is high in fibre and protein. It’s important to give your body the nutrients it needs that were lost during alcohol consumption. Fibre-rich foods, such as SYSTEM Cookie Slim, stay in the stomach longer, so you’ll be less prone to hunger in the morning.
Rule #5: Always drink responsibly & use Wine Waist Flush as a part of your healthy lifestyle

Gina Broccolo – a Niagara business woman, understands that achieving that ‘perfect’ self, whether it’s losing 5, 50 or 150 lbs is not as simple as it sounds and can be one of the most difficult, ongoing struggles.
As a young woman, Gina was fit and slim at 5’8” and 125 lbs and not unlike many women, her lifestyle changed dramatically with poor nutrition choices and a lack of exercise.
It wasn’t until Gina spent 30 days at a cleansing spa where she finally realized weight loss results. During her stay at the health spa, she acquired the knowledge and the tools for effective weight loss, which she uses today to achieve better health, both personally and with her clients.
After returning home and continuing the program, Gina decided to leave her career in the travel industry and set out on a mission to help other women achieve their health and wellness goals.
That mission started with her own business and the formulation of a revolutionary product that would aid any nutritional and exercise program.
Since 1992, Gina has helped and continues to support millions of women around the globe in achieving realistic weight loss goals. “I got into the industry for the rest of my life. This is my life’s purpose,” says Gina. “ Since then I’ve launched some of the top selling weight loss products in Canada including Internal Flush, Wine Waist Flush and the very popular System Weight Loss brand.” Her commitment to helping women is remarkable and she is delighted to share with you her past struggles, her successes and offer support throughout your journey to a healthier you.
Does alcohol really affect my weight? That’s the big question. When conducting focus groups at our Niagara offices this a question I’d often get asked. This question led to the need for our new product Wine Waist Flush.
People who consider themselves average wine drinkers consume an excess of 7,000 calories per month – the equivalent of 307 ice creams, or 247 slices of cake, or 525 servings of chips per year. When you indulge in a glass of wine, you’re taking in around the same amount of calories as you would from eating a slice of cake. For adults who drink, alcohol accounts for on average ten per cent of the calories they consume. So there are obviously extra calories to consider.
But it’s not just the calories in the drink itself that are an issue. Recent studies have shown Wine Waist Flush adresses the affects of alcohol related weight gain – Formulated by Integrity Health Products and Gina Broccolo that alcohol consumption has a greater impact on weight gain than we previously thought.
When we drink the body breaks down and burns alcohol before any other fat or calorie you’ve consumed or stored. Alcohol effectively halts fat metabolism in the liver. The alcohol is converted to acetate and then immediately burned off meaning any other calories, fats or sugars from what you’re drinking or eating while consuming alcohol are stored as fat cells and not broken down.
It’s also been shown that alcohol consumption inhibits lipid oxidation. This means it’s harder for your body to burn off stored fat cells when you’re consuming alcohol.
So when we’re out enjoying a glass of wine with friends the alcohol in that glass is preventing our body from properly metabolizing the calories, fats and sugars in the drink, any food we’ve consumed and it’s also inhibiting the burning of stored fat cells. This is why Wine Waist Flush exists.
Wine Waist Flush includes herbal ingredients to provide support to the liver and colon. Cleansing the liver and the colon helps reduce fat storage around the waist. Proper liver function is critical to a healthy metabolism. The liver is a fat burning organ, but when it’s busy processing alcohol, it stops burning fat. When you’re out enjoying that glass of wine, the alcohol is preventing your body from properly metabolizing the calories not only in the drink, but also in any food you’ve consumed.www.winewaistflush.com
