Today

today i feel all over the place.

so my estranged father of ten years is on his death bed and decides to show up.

i thought i didn't really care about him.

that it didn't matter to me that he was dying.

but somehow it still hurts.

and i'm not really sure how.

but it does.

so that's today.

Badger makes me miss Wyatt, because sometimes I will look at him & tell him how pretty he is & it’s always my instinct to go “You are the prettiest rat I’ve ever seen! The prettiest boy in the whole wide world,” but that is what I used to tell Wyatt, so I always stop myself.

Badger is not as pretty as Wyatt, but he is very pretty. And he is much nicer than Wyatt, which is a good thing because I have two permanent scars from Wyatt & rats do not live long enough to go around leaving two permanent scars AND a broken heart, but Wyatt was a jerkface anyway, so I suppose he would be a special case. (And I miss him very much & think of him every day.)

no matter what you try.

you think about them way more than you'd like to admit, and it makes it all that much worse because you know that they aren't thinking about you.

well usually i'm stronger and can just ignore this.

but today not so much.

i can't think of anything good he ever gave me, but for some reason i always want him in my life.
