โItโs just not right.โ The words were hushed, though still as honest as words would usually leave Lunaโs lips. Nothing about this was right. When Neville diedโeyes closed for a second, remembering โ there was no room for a memorial such as this. Her eyes opened, meeting Ginnyโs, and Luna didnโt hide her fury, nor her sadness. Eyes blazing blue flames, with rage, with conflict, unapologetic. No need to hide any of it in front of Ginny.ย โI had hoped our next return to the castle would have been for some tea with Neville.โ It felt strange, to bring up Neville, as his death had brought back Harry, but everything felt strange nowadays. Luna had never shied away from things strange, though.ย โHe did make the best herbal tea.โ Eyes unfocused, gliding past the Great Lake, remembering the year they had spent at Hogwarts under the reign of the Carrows. Things felt eerily similar, now, but she didnโt mention it. The idea of their children potentially being stuck in a situation like that โฆ well, as she had said before:ย โItโs not right.โ But when had that ever mattered?
it felt strange to be there without neville, as the only reason ginny ever voluntarily returned to the grounds was to visit him. while several decades had passed since her time as a student, she never could shake the uneasy yet familiar feeling any time she stepped foot on the castle grounds, even in the years following its restoration. the purpose of their visit doesnโt do much to alleviate the simmering anger inside her, only serving as a reminder of what neville deserved but did not receive, a sentiment she knows is shared between them and all it takes is one glance into lunaโs eyes to confirm the feeling is not a solitary one. โme too. it doesnโt feel the same without him.โ she admits as she meets her gaze. she wonโt mention the way she keeps expecting him to appear from the crowd of mingling students or to catch his eye from across the yard. without him there, the school only felt miserably bleak. โi do really miss the tea, though. every time i try to make it like he did, it just ends up tasting like shit.โ she admits, a hidden trace of a smile briefly forming on her lips. her eyes circle the grounds briefly before her voice lowers, tone suddenly wary. โneville wouldโve hated this. this is . . . itโs worse than i thought, luna.โ it was hard to ignore history repeating itself before their very eyes.
