"I’m from Little Italy in San Diego," Gio answered. "Lord knows how it survived this long too. But Gio is actually a nickname. My full name is actually Giovanna."
"Sounds interesting," Andrea said. "Dd you like it there?"
"I did," she let out a mischievous smile. "The customers tipped me well. I worked near a college campus, so we were always packed. Being near the beach, clothes weren't always required. There are many sights that I miss."

Peva carefully stored her comments. ”Not as common as is with humans. It is not uncommon, however.” Peva almost stopped there, but realized her answer was not very constructive for further conversation, however content she would be if Gio was to hold the conversation entirely by herself. ”…Do you have any pets?”
"Not now," Gio shook her head. "But growing up, my nonna had this huge Rott. She was harmless, but we never had to buy a security alarm. As a child, we would always feed her the leftovers from the restaurant when we didn't want to take out the trash."
"Isn’t it though?" Gio smiled before taking another sip. "And I can make just about any drink you can think of to boot."
Andrea laughed briefly at this. “Well that’s good to know!” she took a ship of her champagne then set it down. “So, Gio’s an interesting name. Where’re you from?”

"I was working in one before it was forced to close," Gio answered. "I really enjoyed working there, but when I applied at other bars, no one would hire me. Nonna always told me to have a job that doesn’t feel like work, so I decided that it was time to open up my own bar. I heard about the new starbase and figured that I’d get more customers out in space than I would on Earth."
"Good thinking," Andrea chuckled. "A drink of something good and strong is a good way to end a hard day of work."
"Isn't it though?" Gio smiled before taking another sip. "And I can make just about any drink you can think of to boot."
"To Starbase 3!" they clinked their glasses. After taking a sip, Gio placed her flute on the bar. "So what brings you all the way out here?"
"Mostly just the job," Andrea replied. "Maybe the adventure and excitement of it all too," she grinned. "What about you? This seems a long way to come just to open a bar."
"I was working in one before it was forced to close," Gio answered. "I really enjoyed working there, but when I applied at other bars, no one would hire me. "Sounds like a lot of work," Gio finished pouring Andrea’s glass and then poured her own. When she was finished, she put down the bottle and lifted her glass. "How about we cheer to this floating mass of metal?"
"Sure," Andrea flashed a lopsided grin. "To Starbase 3!" She held up her glass in a toast.
"To Starbase 3!" they clinked their glasses. After taking a sip, Gio placed her flute on the bar. "So what brings you all the way out here?"

"They are all quite different. Sarin is the oldest. He is a very friendly and outgoing person. Tenos is between Sarin and me, and he… he has made many bad decisions in the past. He is a better person now because of that, though. Ves is younger than me. He is somewhat cold when people first meet him, though he is quite… human, around people he is comfortable with." She swirled the liquid left in her glass as she spoke. "We are all quite different."
"Different just means that none of you are boring," Gio smiled, refilling her glass. "You do have an interesting family. What about Kaiten? Are pets a common thing for Vulcans?"
"Gio," she answered, popping the cork off the bottle. Gio made a mental note to go find it later poured the champagne into the glasses, her guest first. "And yours? Judging from your get up, I’m assuming that you’re Starfleet."
"That I am," she replied, glancing down at the red, form-fitting coveralls that she typically wore instead of, in her opinion, the rather skimpy women’s uniform. "My name’s Andrea. I’m the Chief of Engineering aboard this floating mass of metal," Andrea said, holding her glass steady as Gio poured her champagne.
"Sounds like a lot of work," Gio finished pouring Andrea's glass and then poured her own. When she was finished, she put down the bottle and lifted her glass. "How about we cheer to this floating mass of metal?"

"There was none in my house," she copied Gio’s way of explaining. "Or, if there was, it was rare. With my mixed heritage, my parents were unsure what affect it would have on me. It does not intoxicate me, though it does two of my brothers."
"That's interesting," Gio puckered her lips, imagining what a drunk Vulcan would look like. "What are they like, your brothers? If you don't mind me askin' of course."
"Not too far from it," Gio smiled, walking behind the bar. She took the box off the counter and took out a bottle of champagne and two flutes. "It’s no fun celebrating by yourself. Care to join?"
Andrea grinned. “I’d love ta’” she walked in and took the flute that the woman handed her. “I don’t think I caught you’re name.”
"Gio," she answered, popping the cork off the bottle. Gio made a mental note to go find it later poured the champagne into the glasses, her guest first. "And yours? Judging from your get up, I'm assuming that you're Starfleet."

Muroc suppressed a grin, leaning forward onto his desk so his elbows were level, and clasped his hands into a fist. Tilting his head, he scrutinized Gio for a bit, giving her a smirk when he raised his eyes to look at her, “Not my type, sorry.”
"Wouldn't be the first time I heard that," Gio said with a smile. "Woe is the life of someone looking for love."

"I have no preference," Peva replied, slowly draining her drink. When it was nearly gone, she stopped, swirling it a bit. "I do not drink alcohol often," she added in explanation. "If I do, it is usually wine. So I am not very knowledgeable on the topic."
"Nothing wrong with that," Gio leaned on the counter. "Grew up around the stuff. I remember my nonna always had a bottle open at every meal. Even the kids drank some."
Andrea had been wandering the almost spookily quiet station when she spotted a woman moving around inside a shop. Deciding to go introduce herself, she walk up to the entrance and rapped on the frame. “Hello in there,” she called. “Are you open?”
"Not too far from it," Gio smiled, walking behind the bar. She took the box off the counter and took out a bottle of champagne and two flutes. "It's no fun celebrating by yourself. Care to join?"

"We all adjust at our own rate," Gio gave Peva a smile before kneeling down to pet Kaiten. "And how can anyone think that such an adorable bambina like you as dangerous?"
Once Gio was done playing with Kaiten, she stood and walked behind the bar. She pulled out two glasses from underneath the counter and picked a bottle of old school Jack out of the box. “Care for a drink?” Gio offered.
Peva nodded, taking a seat on the other side of the bar. ”I try not to let the Vulcan side get the advantage over me, thought it is usually futile. I cannot help the way I was raised.” She accepted the drink and gave it a long look of contemplation before taking a few sips. ”This is… interesting.”
"Ain't that the truth?" Gio raised her glass before taking a sip. She had almost finished her glass when Peva took a sip of hers. "It isn't the best whiskey in my opinion, but it definitely has a particular taste to it. If you don't like it, I can make you any drink you want."

"I am Peva," she replied, closing the distance between them. "I did not expect you to be open. I was simply seeing if anyone else had arrived on the base yet. You are the first I have found." Peva scowled slightly, face tilted to the floor. "…I understand it would be favorable of me to seek out people, rather than wait for them to come to me. I do not wish people to think that I am… unwilling to become friends." She spoke slowly, as if unsure of herself, though her tone was flat as ever. While Peva spoke, Kaiten made sure to give the entire shop her approval before coming to meet Gio, sniffing at her legs. "My dog’s name is Kaiten, as well. She is not dangerous."

Needless to say, Gio was excited. She couldn’t wait to open her bar. As soon as she set foot, Gio dropped her stuff off in her room and immediately started working on the layout of her bar. The entire morning was dedicated to moving around tables and chairs to get the exact look she was looking for. Once that was done, she spent the rest of her time moving in glasses, decorations, and what not. The only thing that was left for her to do was to bring the box of liquor in her hands to the bar (after all, there are just some drinks that can’t simply be made by a replicator).
Peva was slightly surprised to come across someone else, though she did not let it show on her face. There must only have been a handful of people who had already arrived on the station. The woman was standing inside a shop that was most likely her own. Peva thought about simply walking past, though she decided it would be better to get to know some of the people she’d be with. She walked up a bit closer, her dog sitting by her feet. ”Hello,” she ventured quietly, after a few moments.
As she sat down the box, Gio could have sworn she heard someone say something at the entrance. She walked towards the entrance and saw a lady with a dog sitting at her heels.
"Hey there," Gio smiled before waving her in. "Come in. I'm not open yet, but having a grand opening drink by yourself is kinda boring. Name's Gio."
