immersed in her favorite gossip site, genevieve scrolled down the page as she continued to read about her ex-boyfriend’s latest sexcapades. the brunette couldn’t help but smirk as her orbs scanned through the article, a small laugh practically slipping from her lips once she’d come across the words ‘arrested for indecent exposure’. what a fucking idiot. genevieve stopped herself before clicking onto the next article about her current fling and decided to check her phone to see if her twin sister had called or texted. part of her envied giovanna’s carefree lifestyle. her other half didn’t care about the opinions of others; something genevieve was never able to achieve. in fact, genevieve craved self-validation and acceptance from absolute strangers. she desired attention and esteem from media outlets. she needed to be at the top of the social ladder, just like mommy dearest. ultimately, genevieve would choose popularity over genuine relationships without hesitation. still, giovanna would always be her weakness. regardless of the distance, genevieve would prioritize her sister above all, or at least she claimed she would. looking up from her laptop once she heard giovanna’s familiar voice reverberate from the foyer, she called out to her twin sister, “in the bedroom!”
grateful to hear her sister’s voice instead of her mothers, she went upstairs. she observed the way the house looked since she’s last been in it, wondering how many times their mother rearranged the furniture, buying new ones and trying to find a place to get rid of the old ones. giovanna would have said she was envious of gigi for being their mother’s favourite and doing everything her mother wants, but she couldn’t. she’d dealt with her mother’s bossiness for far too long and she could no longer handle the life of a rich girl socialite. she wanted a normal, average, boring life. she wanted to be able to walk out of her house without getting mobbed by paparazzi but she couldn’t living in the same roof as her mom. opening her genevieve’s bedroom door, her heart became heavy when she saw her older sister, not realising how much she actually missed her. running to her bed, she jumped on her sister, making herself comfortable on top of her. “i missed you,” she mumbled, a smile painted on her face as she looked up at gigi’s computer screen, snorting at the tab she had opened. “good to know you haven’t changed one bit.”
