Just finished Ep.6

What the actual fuck is this weird McCullough / Alex arc coming from? Like there has literally never been anny suggestion or build up to justify the sudden and creepy infatuation McCullough has with Alex. Like really? How forced and awkward is this?

#i mean i trust alex&piper to not be seayed by temptation especially all the growing they have had in the last six seasons #but i dont trust the writers #oitnb spoilers #oitnb

I loved OITNB S1-3 but I just can't anymore.

Each to their own I guess. I definitely agree with the first two seasons being one of the best seasons of a tv show I ever watched. And yes, quality for the show has slowly been declining, (dishonourable mention, S3 was a train wreck) It’s strange but I’m normally very fussy and easily critical when a show dips in quality and will happily stop watching despite previously great episodes and yet here I find myself still watching the show, with some semblance of excitement, not quite so fervently as circa 2013-4 but still with enough optimistic Anticipation that makes the show a priority watch each time it’s released. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Random thoughts....

McCullough’s flashback was surprisingly one that was done right and I actually enjoyed watching. It was relevant and actually helped us as viewers understand her motives and inner decision making more clearly.

S1+2 OITNB used to be so good at utilising flashbacks as part of character and plot progression so it was nice to see one that worked really well and felt necessary.
