𓆙 - 𓆙 - 𓆙 I'm on vacation so i can't really get much out of my system right now but there's this one specific thought that has been weighing on my chest that i have to get out. As a personal preference, I could never get into omegaverse or find myself indulging with anything adjacent to it (like mpreg etc hahahaha this 𓆙 needs to be exposed to more things 😔) but Sapsflux 2.5 omegaverse lowkey...... i should see how it applies to their out-of-roleplay selves but i'm #writingthisinthemiddleofthenight bc I NEED TO GET THIS OFF OF ME BEFORE I SLEEP.

This might be a long rant, it was on my mind for a while and in my past post I mentioned that it was coming soon. Originally I was gonna compress it into a character analysis document THEN i was thinking of projecting in into a piece of writing fic but your dearest 𓆙 is the most impatient 𓆙 to have ever existed.

(Alot of this is my opinion layered ontop of delusion, and most things could've been exaggerated or adjusted into another POV to better fit my stance.)

Ahem. Continuing off from the tunnel I was burrowing: I'm really stuck on the idea of 2.5 omegaverse SapsFlux where Saps presents as an alpha late. Specifically because there is so much symbolism of him being "a scapegoat, a sacrificial white lamb" in comparison to Flux's "preying, overseeing hungry wolf". On the contrary, as much as I could understand how people were characterizing Saps as the lamb, I never saw Flux as a wolf, much less meant to be used as a contrast towards Saps' character; Flux just never fit that. In my gaze, and from what I've read, alot of people seem to like the idea that Flux uses Saps out of malicious intent and greed for his wants and his ideals of "the betterness for Island 2" over the well-being and composition of their friendship. While I do believe that could be taken from Flux's character, I think his sudden lapse and decision to betray Saps was more out of urgency to tie his loose ends and finding a way to spotlight a bigger issue so he could work from the background.

People often forget that Flux always felt more comfortable orchestrating from behind the stage rather than in the limelight. From the importance of his underground bunker to the sheer difference of how composed he is in the moment of action versus beyond the curtains, Flux would always choose to shine the attention away from him. Ish's video dedicated an entire segment towards focusing on his 'demotion' from Luminara government, and then for how much of a major villain he played, he didn't appear in the video as much as you'd expect, unlike Cynikka, who we know is far more comfortable bathing in the attention, as seen in her decision to parade Lingulini's head around her volcano. Paired with the dramatisation from the video on how important Flux's demotion was (although we know that he didn't even get kicked), alongside him being magnetized during the tricolor-international meeting as being the only one who wanted to unite Island2 against Island1, it would only make sense that he's been forcibly pushed into the spotlight, so much so that he had to flee to build a bunker underwater. Jophiel, being wrongfully killed by Seraphim on a misinterpreted command, would only heighten his anxiety further, and since it wasn't a pre-determined move, it was obvious that without another catalyst or red herring to shift the gaze elsewhere, Flux would very obviously be the first one of suspect. This is why I believe that his framing of Saps came as a sudden urgency to push the attention off of him as he bought himself time to continue his plans, NOT of the inherent "evilness" his character was feeling. (Flux out of character doesn't even seem to be evil, he just seems like some guy who likes causing chaos and being bratty and pulling random levers for the fun of it.)

Now 𓆙 anon why does this even matter blah blah blah. Why do you bring up Flux's character and how does it tie into Saps being wrongfully characterized and why this and why that. OKAY. The lamb motif is actually very omegaverse related (in my case) LET'S get to it now.

IMO it is incredibly obvious to know who sees Saps/Flux as Fluxarata vs Sapsflux. From writing style and characterisation, I can almost immediately tell how someone views their synergy. Most of the times when reading fics where Saps is portrayed as a helpless scapegoat just betrayed by evil hungry wolf Flux and now is lost and has nowhere to go, I get the ick because THAT'S NOT AT ALL HOW IT IS. (If u can't tell already the scapegoat/hungrywolf is such an omega/alpha obvious dynamic and I HATE HOW INCORRECT IT IS) Saps + Flux + Conspiracy in 2.5 to me have always felt like a bunch of lambs doing their thing etc. Saps being independent but still accepted into the group, Flux having his own posse but still relying on Saps. Saps being mediator (on Jophiel and Flux's request) and meeting+connecting with other nations. Flux/Conspiracy getting pushed into the spotlight because they have opinions that don't align with the other nations. Flux feeling like Saps doesn't truly have his back because he's meant to stay netural as the island mediator, despite the fact that Saps SHOULD have his back, because Saps was HIS friend first, and before being a mediator he was attending to FLUX's needs and wants and thoughts. 3below 'demoting' Flux and Jophiel being murdered, putting Flux on his toes. In his anxiety and nervousness and need of control, directs his desperation on the one last thing he has control of left, Saps, and pushes him onto the sacrificial pedestal.

I always saw Saps as an independent alpha, or loner. He always and never fit into any specific group at the same time, always floating between people, not really having a structured space. I think Flux knew that, but with how much Saps spends his time around Flux and his group, Flux started to feel as if Saps had finally found his place with them. But when seeing that his mediator duties have more importance than himself, he needs to relapse back into having control, even if that means betrayal, because that's atleast still an outcome that he has controlled. In terms of omegaverse, I would see Saps/Flux/Conspiracy before betrayal that none of them had presented, or atleast Saps hadn't. I believe that Saps presenting late, as an alpha AFTER him being betrayed is extremely important to his character development. Whether or not the others had presented isn't really to my concern, but it would be interesting if Flux had already been out as an omega, and everyone assuming that Saps would be an omega too, because of his more docile, friendly and outgoing vibe. And if Saps had been out as an Alpha already, I don't think it'd be in Omega Flux's dna to push the blame on an Alpha, knowing that there would be consequences, and toying with his wits vs Saps' pure strength and tenacity wouldn't be a battle he could risk taking. BUT, if Saps hadn't presented yet, and had already been assumed to be an omega like himself (or even a Beta), he wouldn't feel as intimidated/bad as shoving him into the spotlight, since he'd view them as on equal footing. This is especially interesting to think of in the case of whether 2.5!Flux had feelings for Saps before OR after betrayal. If it was before, it could very much have undertones of a way of coping, (omega Flux liking a potential omega Saps would be like-haram) BUT if it was after.. and Flux tossing and turning in bed reminscing the friendship they had, only for Saps to later present as an Alpha, AND make a vow to make sure that he hunts Flux down if that's the last thing he'll ever do.. chills, you can't tell me that Saps isn't the possessive one. (hahahaha that's another very long analysis for later though.. I HAVE THOUGHTS ON obsessiveflux AND possessivesaps hahahahaha)

Anyway yes wrapping it up. Omega Flux who presents earlier than Saps, where everyone is assuming that Saps would be an omega too, and so Flux feels incredibly comfortable with him. Then post betrayal, Saps being isolated, finding himself, presenting as an Alpha. Having a deathwish but POSTPONING IT for FLUX, vowing and swearing up and down that he will make sure he gets to Flux, that it will be his ultimate goal. Going about Island 1 in a virtuous way to get support, clearing and vindicating his name, doing it in the most justifiable way, looking like a hero, a saint, but deep down day and night he's not thinking about it being "one step closer from freeing myself and the world from Flux's lies" but as being "one step closer to getting to Flux." Finally going to war, Infernus Volcano towering overhead, Cynikka and Flux standing side by side. Saps, seeing Flux, going overdrive; the last time they've seen each other was before Saps had ever even considered presenting as an alpha, where they've spent nights huddled underneath the blankets amiably and excitedly discussing of a promising future. Saps who know Flux's scent like it's his own, Flux who used to be his best friend, the one person in the world that Saps knows inside out. How could they not be instantly attracted to each other? Whether in their feelings or in chemistry? The rage and the ashes spewing in the atmosphere, of the hot and smoky volcanic terrain. Flux, watching his friends fall one by one to their dooms, and then jumping off the volcano. Everyone is confused on whether Flux was alive or not but Saps is so certain, he can feel it in his bones that Flux is alive. Standing atop the volcano, battle still going on behind him, but he's only focused on looking for Flux, eyes trained like a hawk. INTUITION SPIKING, KNOWING THIS IS THE TIME TO NAIL THE COFFIN, ORDERING FLUX TO COME TO HIM. In the colosseum, not some lousy patch of land somewhere outside the battleground, but the MOST INTIMATE POSSIBLE PLACE YOU COULD CHOOSE TO DO A DUEL. (aside from maybe Saps house but that would be unrealistic) That voice in the video he uses when he's waiting on Flux's response and he says "oh, come on.." HOLY FUCK that's the one voiceline that has motivated me to write this entire thing. FLUX SURRENDERING, SUBMITTING HIMSELF TO SAPS, knowing that it is his time, and he couldn't possibly win against Saps. Walking into the colosseum, and standing on the steps to have the higher ground, KNOWING that it's just a facade, it's just a temporary boost. Saps walking in and immediately owning the place, the fact that there were other spectators but his world immediately implodes to be just the two of them. All the words that could've been shared but were swallowed down by the both of them.

FLUX DYING, EVERYONE CHEERING, AND SAPS NUMBLY LOOKING AT HIS BODY. He's the only one not celebrating; if anything, he looks tired, visibly fatigued. It is finally over for the entire island, for everyone else, but for him, it was already long finalized.

Okay I need to stop before I get a concussion from banging my head against the wall 🥹🥹🥹🥹 this is honestly my most scrapped trashed messy brain dump ever pls forgive me it is genuinely past midnight my brain has stopped working long ago. You can literally see the point in this post where I start going mental and lose all structure and cohesiveness.

Maybe I'll add onto this in the future but brain dumping is very personal and close to me so i'd see how the crowd takes it before anything else. This has indeed been a huge brainworm of the month.
