Meredith Selene Fields was born and raised in Halcyon Island as the eldest child of Aiden Fields & his wife on June 22, 1996.

Growing up, the Fields household was anything but normal due to most of the family being filled with superhuman beings, including Meredith's mother as well. Unlike the rest of her siblings who had inherited their father's fire-related powers, she inherited her mother's cryokinesis powers in an insanely gruesome way.

You see when she was only 14 years old, someone who she thought was one of her best friend's tried harming her due to her not giving him what she wanted at the time and as a result, she froze him to death. The only people that knew the truth at the time were her and her mother, as she had been the one babysitting the two of them at the time. As soon as the cops were called by a passerby, Meredith and her mom were long gone and instead of revealing what really happened that fateful day, they passed it off as nothing more than a mere accident, for their own peace of mind.

Years pass by and this incident still haunts the eldest Fields to this day, maybe that's why Alicia Russo decided to recruit her for the Current when she was only 16 years old, she saw just how broken the girl was and was determined to use it against her.

Truly not knowing where she belonged as she barely had any friends by the time she got into high school, it didn't take long for Meredith to accept Alicia's generous offer as she then began doing the woman favors whenever she asked for them mainly due to the fact that she knew it wouldn't do her any good to get on the woman's bad side, even if it meant hurting those that she cared about in the process..
