Why tap dance? Amy Bell on West End
Why tap dance? Amy Bell on West End
As the show West End by Compagnia Chiara Frigo is about to go on stage again (25 August at 9 pm, Teatro Remondini, Bassano del Grappa, Italy), I wish to share these reflections by the outstanding solo performer Amy Bell about the use of tap-dancing in the show. Below you will find my transcript of the recording. https://soundcloud.com/chiara-frigo-427409516/amy-bell-on-tap-dance [Amy Bell] Soo……

Buon Natale

Ci avevo provato…

Mind your step
Yesterday evening the project I have been working with for months has come to an end, at least for the Dublin leg of it. It has been a valuable, unforgettable experience, that I could share with smart colleagues such as Marcel Bassachs, Eleanor Creighton and Argyris Argyrou.
I called this project Mind your step, and if you still don’t know about it, I encourage you to have a look here.

Thanks To SIMONE LAGO for submitting IDIOMA
“Idioma” is the name of a collection of poems by Andrea Zanzotto. Zanzotto is considered in some ways the lyrical voice of a landscape in transformation and disintegration of what is - and most of all it was - one of the foothills and the Veneto plain. But Zanzotto was primarily a poet of the sign of the figure, of linguistic’s injury, and that detachment that is created in the human instinct when it passes by entities in the subject / object mediated by language. We are what we are because shaped by the language that crosses us. And in the same way, the look at things is shaped on the way that things appear to us, and the other looks that always affect us: there is never objectivity, ans there isn’t only subjectivity. Get behind me the idea to do a “reportage on Venetian landscape”, I have only one purpose - paradoxically for someone – aesthetics: I photograph what I think is interesting, leaving the words to the landscape and to what I am, inside the declination of my story, arbitrary suggestions encountered along my way and the one, less arbitrary, crossing between books, exhibitions and catalogs. I don’t care about if it is “real” or “objective”: a frame of my work is a contact point in which intention and situation are confused a bit.
Simone Lago (Cittadella 1983). Graduated in Italian Literature. In my life I deal with something that resides far away from photography. I never participated in exhibitions and have never been included in magazines, blogs and anything else: this collection for Calamita/à is my first “submission”.

The Summer dance festival project # 1
The Summer dance festival project # 1
This summer I attended the Summer Dance Festival organised by Dance House Lemesos in Limassol, South Cyprus. I took this opportunity, offered to me by the EU funded Léim Project, to interview the choreographers who were selected to perform their works there. Here is Roula Kleovoulou about her piece “Room 6″
