no Sam Evans in top 10 senior female? sureee. I don’t like to talk about dancers being robbed or deserving spots above others BUT… You are telling me she didn’t make it to the improv round with such a fantastic solo and being always a stand out in classes??
I love that the Press Play 1st place awards have a photo in them. I think it’s nice to make them somewhat personal and I feel like they look better than the ones with just a placement on them.
what is with the amount of dancers publicly demeaning the title/soty winners this year? you're allowed to disagree with the judges, but there's a time and place to express that disagreement, and it's not on public social media accounts the week after nationals. where are the teachers of these dancers? why are these studios not sitting their dancers down before the competition season even starts and having serious discussions about the value of sportsmanship, empathy, and kindness in competitive sports? why are you teaching your dancers to place so much value on awards? sure, you're training incredibly advanced technical dancers, but you're also training entitled sore losers. that kind of behaviour reflects poorly on the entire studio. and where are the parents? does seeing your child engage in this kind of behaviour make you proud of the morals and values you've taught them? get these kids under control for fucks sake.
You dont know how big it is for a true comp kid like crystal to be chosen for a competition like prix de laussane. The ballet world even today is still very biased against competition kids even when there are plenty of professionals with an extensive competition history already debuting in principal/soloist roles today. Comp kids are rarely represented in more prestigious ibcs (international ballet competition) and pdl. ITS A BIG DEAL. GET UP AND SHOW RESPECT TO OUR PRESIDENT. She's literally the only one on the list with a competition history that is extensive.
Izzy was the same case back in June, she was literally the only kid with an extensive comp history ( definitely less extensive than crystals though) at usa ibc which a comp that only happens every 4 years. She made it all tge way to the final 3 and got a an award from the jury.
i’m gonna disappear again in a week but this comp season has soooo many amazing new routines, i have so many new faves too. larkin is slaying ofc as always.
Crystal is killing pdl right now. I mean, I'm so proud of her. She's stands out. Your eyes are immediately drawn to her, and she hasn't even actually competed gulnare yet. Not to mention, the ballet public is enthralled by her.
