What do you each bring to The Strokes?

Nick: I think we all bring a certain sort of energy. Nikolai brings a certain sense of stoicism. Albert brings a good taste in music. What Julian brings is just obvious.

Julian: What's that? I want to hear you say it, baby.

Nick: Julian's just got overall charm and wittiness. He's the attitude of the band. And I bring scepticism, I bring cynicism to the band.

Fabrizio: (appalled): No, man! Nick brings a style of his own, like... a rock'n'roll edge to the band.

Nick: (doubly appalled) A rock'n'roll edge? That's my answer to that question?

Is This It in a nutshell

it's insane, or rather sad, maybe not sad, but weird, how my entire Tumblr world, is just dead. inactive. not On anymore. i was going through my entire following list, to see if i could find my ex-boyfriend's best friend's tumblr profile - he used to post these corny poems he had written in our native language, so I figured it wouldn't be that hard to find them. it was. i haven't found them, yet. the search continues!

as i was saying; to see your past become ancient, and realise that a part of you is also in that past, and history, is a bit soul-splitting. in my everyday, in my day to day, my present, you name it, I don't think of my strokes-tumblr-hyperfixation, as some monumental thing. i think of it as something i just did. mostly because i was bored. and maybe also because i cared a bit more back then. but then i got busy, and i started caring about stuff that were more intimate, and too hard to explain (hah). maybe i would've gained something from sharing it, and working through it in a more direct way. but I didn't take that route. i'm glad i didn't now, but it's still an interesting thought.
