growing up with a mom deep in diet culture is such a mind trip. like all throughout growing up i was taught to have a bad relationship with food and being on a calorie deficit at the age of 8 and then when i grow up and still have problems with food now she doesn’t remember any of that and she has no idea why i am the way i am???

no i don’t understand because if you were speaking like how i am right now, i would drop everything to be there for you, to make sure you’re alright and safe and loved. why won’t you do that for me? why would NO ONE do that for me? why am i just met with weird stares and jokes when all i need is for someone to tell me i’m okay and that i will make it through this

my mom and i got into a fight today. i told her “maybe i’ll just illkay myself” and she rolled her eyes in response. i’ve had the strongest elfsay armhay thoughts today than in the last year or so; i’ve been eanclay for 5 years now. but it’s getting so hard. so so hard.

stats for 9/21/25:

rough day, i was just so hungry. i genuinely could not stop myself from eating basically everything in sight. but i was also SUPER dehydrated, i drank soooo much water (100+ oz!!). i felt a little ill this afternoon, another headache. just been very low spoons as of late i fear.

however i still ended the day below my maintenance, so i’m okay with that, especially given that my body probably needs food fr right now with how ill i’ve been. hoping for an easier day tmr since i won’t be around food as much 🤞

i don’t understand why i’m always the last to figure it out, why i’m always forcing myself to dig my heels in and wait until the last possible second to come to terms with the fact that i’m ALWAYS going to end up alone!!! “i think i’m handling it better than you because i was able to accept it sooner” yeah NO SHIT!!! no one wants to stay with someone like me, someone who drags themself and everyone else down with them. i hate this i hate being this way i hate being me

hey so he left. we’ve known he was leaving to go abroad since the start, but it still doesn’t feel real. i haven’t been myself since i saw him walk through the doors of the airport yesterday morning.

he’s going to be just fine and i’m going to be here. i’m so scared of what that means.

i’ve been keeping busy, making plans. i’ve finally gotten some job interviews; it sucks that my first one was this morning. i felt so sad and nauseous and had a migraine; not sure how it went tbh. hoping it went well enough for an in person interview next week. we’ll see.

i’m going to join a gym. take my supplements again. i’ve fallen off, but i’m hoping this will be a natural coping mechanism for me.

i actually don’t know how i’m going to get through this. how do you let a part of yourself go? how do you put so much trust in the universe to bring it home to you when it’s the right time? what if it’s never the right time?

he and i are going to call on monday. we had our first phone call yesterday; i was drunk but it went really well. i’ve missed his voice and his warmth and how sweet he gets when he’s sleepy.

stats for 9/20/25

did very well today! but i had a migraine and physically could not eat until about 6pm so that was all within about five hours :/ not great but i also had a pretty healthy day yesterday (i had bibimbob for the first time 😋 i did drink tho so that was rough) plus i was sick today so i think it all balances out in the end

i want to get back to logging. i eat so much better when i do! also for my gluten free/celiac girlies: king arthur’s mixes and just flour in general is SOOOO good! i make gf brunch recipes for work with it and 9/10 i can’t tell the difference between the gf and the regular version when i use their products. their muffin mix and their brownie mix are ELITE!

Binge Prevention

15 Tips and Tricks

Pause mid-meal — count to 100 or set food down for a minute to “practice stopping.”

2. Don’t keep “binge foods” at home; hide labels or cover boxes with thinspo pics.

3. If you start binging, flush the rest immediately so you can’t go back.

4. Avoid all-or-nothing thinking: half a box is “better” than a whole one. “Every calorie counts.”

5. Don’t say “I’ll do better tomorrow” — say “I’m doing better now.”

6. If you binge often, eat slightly more daily; 600 stable calories is “better” than 400 + binges.

7. Distract cravings by thinking about other foods briefly until desire fades.

8. Eat more frequent, tiny meals to stay rational and “in control.”

9. Occasionally plan a small, controlled calorie spike to “boost metabolism,” but beware weight gain.

10. After a binge, don’t dwell — “reset” right away and focus on the future.

11. Track emotions before, during, and after eating to spot patterns behind urges.

12. Before binging, force yourself to eat raw veggies + brown rice first to reduce room for “bad foods.”

13. Plate food beautifully to slow yourself down and make you reconsider eating.

14. Eat only at the table, chew each bite 10–30 times, and focus on the first three bites.

15. Pre-plan one serving of crave foods — adjust the rest of the day’s intake around it to avoid “deprivation binges.”
