Doug and I have some exciting news: We're pregnant! But we also wanted to share our experiences with pregnancy. Around this time last year we received the news of our first pregnancy but in February we had a miscarriage. We began to have our own little hopes and dreams for the baby and what it would turn out to be. But once it was gone we had to overcome the obstacle of piecing our lives together after such a loss. With time and patience and support from family and friends it gave us hope that one day we could have our own rainbow baby. Everyone has been such an integral part of our healing and back bone with trying again. This year was definitely a whirlwind ride. We're looking forward to welcoming our bundle of joy into our world and we're excited to announce, IT'S A GIRL!

But that infers that you’re also not supposed to tell people that something did happen. It reinforces the idea that miscarriage is something that you should feel guilty about and keep secret.

It was an extremely bad day today. Feels like life punched me in the stomach today and everything came full circle. Some days I'm perfectly fine but lately it's been consuming my everyday life in which I curl into a ball and stay in bed. Sarah gave birth today. I was suppose to deliver next month. It seems so surreal that I yearn for a life that never happened. I feel as if I'm missing a piece of who I was and I want to feel 'whole' again. I feel an imbalance as I still feel like my body betrayed me. I'm slowly coming to terms but I don't want to lose sight that motherhood is what I really wanted. I could of been having twins.

I was debating on posting this or not but I know there’s other people out their going through the same thing today.

Mother’s Day is a hard day for me for many reasons. The main one being that I should be a mother and celebrating it. But I’m not because I lost my baby last May. The one year anniversary is coming up on the 27th and I’m not sure how I’m gonna deal with it. I’m not even sure how I’m gonna deal with today. Am I really considered a mom considering I never got to hold my baby? I never talked openly with anyone about my miscarriage besides my ex(who couldn’t of cared less) but today is a hard day. I can’t help but blame myself for it. I’m pretty sure my baby would of been a beautiful baby boy. I just had a feeling. I should be holding him right now but I’m not. The world is so unfair sometimes. Why do good people lose their babies but horrible people get to have tons? It makes no sense to me. This post is kind of all over the place. But just know mothers day is hard for some people for many reasons but this is one of them. Be there for anyone you know who has lost their baby. Even though I never got to meet my baby, I know I love him with all my heart and I know he’s up in heaven right now. I love you so much. And I’m sorry you couldn’t stay here with me. 3

A miscarriage is a natural and common event.  All told, probably more women have lost a child from this world than haven’t.  Most don’t mention it, and they go on from day to day as if it hadn’t happened, so people imagine that a woman in this situation never really knew or loved what she had.  But ask her sometime: how old would your child be now?  And she’ll know.
