pip i also have a chronic illness and a mental illness and a nervous system condition and i can barely life. let alone deal with people telling me i dont? actually have problems? and i know my problems are like. nothing compared to your problems. pip you are a champ just for getting out of bed. it is really hard to do things. i just. wanted you to know that.
anon I dont think it matters how much your problems look like problems to other people, its how they impact you - if you can barely life then your problems are pretty dang significant (I mean problems can be pretty dang significant even if you COULD life whilst having them, but you get my point) and I would never say theyre nothing compared to mine :C I wouldnt say that to anyone. Im very sorry about your problems and I hope things get maybe a little easier or more tolerable for you in the future. stuff is hella hard. i appreciate your message & support!

i know they can seem persuasive from experience but the people who think they have a right to be mean to you because they don't like you are wrong, and dickheads. it's okay if you want to distance yourself from tumblr because of them. nobody deserves to be treated badly and you especially are not in a good place right now. i don't know why mean people exist in such abundance, but they're wrong and if i could i'd vanquish 'em hard. right out of the ballpark.

nope! and that's not what I said! nor is it what anyone else said! it's just that a lot of whitehouse.gov petitions are for things the federal executive branch does not even have jurisdiction over even if they did get the requisite number of signatures, so it can be frustrating to have people act like IF THIS GETS ENOUGH SIGNATURES ACTION WILL DEFS BE TAKEN or even ACTION *COULD* BE TAKEN because it.. often could not be

ugh like 10% of the responses to the white house petitions are pardon requests and they give the same useless response every time and yet people keep making them! even for state cases that the federal government doesn’t have jurisdiction over!!! UGH.

Ahh, I’m sorry anon, I did not comprehend your objection! My apologies. I did not mean to imply that it was, only that that was the purpose for which I am using it. You are right though of course
its like, theres nothing WRONG with petitions, theyre fine, I dont blame people for trying to accomplish things with them, but I feel like their ability to have any effect on things is REALLY really overemphasized on tumblr especially when you take into account how far people are willing to go to make people who are unwilling or unable to sign any given petition feel REALLY BAD for POTENTIALLY IMPEDING PROGRESS

I realize that those seem Super Official due to being on an Official Government Website but the quantity of signatures you need to get in the given time period is ALMOST impossible unless you have a HUGE BASE to draw from or a thing thats REALLY POPULAR that literally everyone will want to sign and even if you do get the right amount in the right time nothing actually happens????? someone is delegated to look at it. they will probably go "thanks for your interest !" and send you away?? literally the only response I have seen from a whitehouse.gov petition was the one about the replica death star??? like...
I'm not saying petitions never accomplish anything I'm just saying that most of the petitions I see going around tumblr w/ attached gross guilt tripping are things that like, those things arent decided by a petition. those things are decided by... legislation and other complicated government bullshit, or often they arent even really executive branch issues at all????
