Glamoursaurus is just getting off its feet. It started conceptually about a year ago when I spraypainted some plastic dinosaurs glittery silver and got to thinking about gender performance, fashion, and the intersection between the two! Now, I pay close attention to outfits I see everywhere and even my own clothes and how I "perform" my gender(s). I love fashion and shiny glitttery things, but also some very stereotypically masculine things, and all manners of combinations and conglomerations. I subscribe to Vogue and Razorcake!
It turns out other queer folks have similar/intersecting relationships with the clothes they wear, and many even make or modify their own clothes. Glamoursaurus is and will be a celebration of that!
In terms of technicality, for now Glamoursaurus is a not-quite-up-and-running e-zine run through tumblr (glamoursaurus.tumblr.com). I'd like to eventually physically publish "volumes" of content shared.
Content-wise, I'm looking for any and all writing about fashion, gender, creating and modifying clothing, drag (in all its forms), make-up, queering fashion history and anything else anyone thinks relates. So if you've got thoughts, please don't hesitate to send them my way either in my messages here or to my email, [email protected].
