TW: Drug abuse, mentions of OD'ing.
This is all over the place, forgive me.
Darci Sloan - 5'10'', 23 year old nonbinary (he/they) college drop out. Adopted by the Rhee family at 15 years old. He has a very strained relationship with his sister, Connie Rhee (18, she/her), as she unintentionally got him kicked out after she found him on his bedroom floor while he was overdosing. Darci holds no animosity towards her, but she feels incredibly guilty over it, and cannot move past it.
He currently lives in an apartment with his high school best friends, Beau Collins (23, he/him), and Pierce Winfrey (23, he/him). They have a septum, and eyebrow piercing, and they have a medium length shag haircut with light stubble. They do not really care about their appearance. Darci works at his family owned grocery store, alongside Connie. While Connie works the more costumer service part of the store, Darci is mainly stocking, and such.
Darci, Beau, and Pierce have matching bug tattoos, each are located on their ankles. His is a spider. Despite the fact that they all live together, the two have yet to notice that he is struggling with his sobriety. There is something out there dragging them back into this. Something is whispering their name, telling them that they are destined for this. It is out there. Watching. Waiting.
Beau Collins - 6', 23 year old cis man (he/him) working on his masters in education. His family moved over 5 hours south of where he currently lives, but he was never all too close to them. Not that he doesn't care for them, but it was somewhat like a roommate situation with his parents. His achievements weren't enough for them despite excelling in his classes, and being state recognized for his time on his college baseball team. Whatever, its not like he needs them anyway, Darci and Pierce are all he needs.
Beau is the one who decided that they all needed to get an apartment together, especially after Darci's overdose, as he feels like he can protect Darci, and "save them before its too late" if something like that were to happen again. He is clean shaven, and has buzzed hair. He puts a lot of effort into his appearance, and nags at Darci to take better care of themself. Although he is sometimes very hard on them, he is very proud of how far they've come. Beau works at a high school about an hour away as a teacher's assistant, since he is very charismatic, and laid back his students usually really like him.
His matching tattoo is of a praying mantis. This is possibly the only tattoo he will ever get, he isn't sure yet. He most definitely will not be getting any piercings even though Pierce jokes that he should get a Prince Albert piercing. Beau does not find this funny. Him and Darci tend to go hiking and camping a lot, but since he has been so busy recently, they haven't been able to do these things in a while, and poor Pierce is always too busy to do any outdoor activities with them. Though he does not fully realize that they are struggling again, he has noticed that something seems weird with Darci. They seem paranoid that there is someone watching him, or something of that nature. Beau is unsure of how to help because he doesn't want them to think that he is accusing them of acting crazy or implying that he is using again if he isn't.
Pierce Winfrey - 6', 23 year old cis man (he/him) who is a blue collar worker that unfortunately works into the early mornings. Despite being the same age as the other two, he is the youngest of them. He is actually the only one in the group that has a good relationship with his family, but they do not live near him since they also moved away once he moved into the apartment with Beau and Darci.
He seems to know Darci the best, since he would come home at like 4 in the morning, and just find them laying on the couch watching TV. The two would have very long, and emotional conversations about life, and things of that nature. Darci came out to him as nonbinary first, and even opened up about their addiction to him. Pierce feels guilty that he couldn't have helped Darci more pre-overdose because he feels like they are so different now, its like the life left their body and they're just there, existing. Though, he understands that you cannot force somebody to get help if they don't want it. Despite that, he is still proud of how much Darci has improved. Pierce's looks are like a combo of Beau and Darci's, he has a short beard, and short hair, and has his lip pierced.
Pierce's tattoo is of a firefly. He has other tattoos, a full sleeve on his left arm, even. Darci and Pierce's relationship is a bit difficult to describe, its like more than friends, but not lovers. The two seem content with that, though. Pierce tends to pay most of the bills regarding the apartment since he makes the most money, which he doesn't mind. Beau got him out of a dark time of his life, and he feels indebted to him even if Beau insists that he isn't. This is just his way of giving back. Just like Beau, Pierce sees that something is off with Darci. More than usual anyway. The two will discuss their behavior and try to determine a good time to bring it up with them because they keep mentioning agonizing migraines, and their vision resembling static. In a conversation one time, Darci just casually mentioned how they saw "It" again, but refused to elaborate on what "It" was other than: "It sees everything". Pierce gets goosebumps anytime he is near them now.
Connie Rhee - 5'3'', 18 year old cis woman (she/her) who just recently graduated high school! She still lives with her parents, and has a very strong relationship with them. They all obviously care deeply for Darci and want them to be safe, but they needed to protect themselves and ensure that Darci was not bringing any drugs into their house, and while Connie feels bad about him getting kicked out, she is also incredibly angry at him. How could he do this? Why couldn't he come to her with his struggles? They could've worked through this together, why couldn't he see that? Since they have gotten clean, they are welcome to visit, and they have, but recently their visits have been less frequent, and she suspects that he is falling back into his addiction.
She was the valedictorian of her graduating class, and has a full ride scholarship to her dream college! Shoutout to her sibling for being the main topic of her college essay. Beau and Pierce were honestly her biggest supporters, and she sees them as older brothers and vice versa. They even helped her with her hair which is the same length and style as Darci's just pink. Growing up, she idolized her older sibling, she didn't even care that they weren't related by blood, in her heart they were. Whenever she is free, she visits the apartment to hang out with the three of them, and sometimes she will even cook all of them traditional Korean meals that she learned from her mom.
Connie is very outgoing and makes friends easily, so she knows a lot of people, but is very selective of who she is close with. Her and one of her closest friends have matching nostril piercings, and it is Connie's favorite thing about herself. One day she hopes she can convince Beau, Darci, and Pierce to let her join in on their matching tattoos because she thinks its the coolest thing ever. The answer is still no, but one day she'll get through to them. Connie would never allow this though to linger nor would she say it aloud, but part of her is glad Darci isn't visiting as much because she feels like there is such a dark feeling to their presence. It's almost like they're bringing something in. It is very unsettling, and afterwards she has to double check that her curtains are drawn in her bedroom because it feels like something is watching.
