So this happened last week...

I was at the supermarket checkout and the bottle of whisky I'd bought had got stuck on the conveyor belt. The young lady at the till helpfully says "oh I'll get that for you" and instead of replying "thanks" or some other normal/socially acceptable response I say "good girl" and you can believe I said it that way!

I was instantly mortified but only for the split second it took to realise she was smiling. Then she realised how she'd reacted and it was her turn to be completely embarrassed and my turn to smile. 😄
