Hello newcomers!

I suppose I should explain myself and the theatre- I often forget that not everyone is as used to it as I am.

My name is The Conservator. I run The Glazen Theatre, and have been for quite some time. Throughout all my years, I have observed reality becoming colder with every day that passes, crowding out the joy of creation with uneccessarily excessive destruction. These days, it is common for some to resort to their own mind to create worlds that would allow them to thrive in. However, there are those who have fallen a bit too deep into their visions, and as a result, have cast away almost all memory of their real lives. As usual, most turn away from what they cannot understand, so these poor creatures are almost always abandoned. I have taken it upon myself to travel to the farthest reaches in search of these extraordinary artists and bring them to this theatre to be protected and given a place to share their talents.  They continue to live through their plays and works. They may not fully live in our reality, but they deserve as much of a chance at life and as much compassion as anyone else.

All are welcome to visit the theatre as often as they like- we accept anyone from any and all dimensions. Shows do take place here, written and directed by the very artists that live here. I will have more information about shows once we get closer to opening night of our next production.

There are a few rules I would ask visitors to follow:

- Please avoid touching any set pieces unless asked to. The sets are always willing to share a story or two if you listen closely, but please refrain from unwarranted touching.

- Do not poke fun at or invalidate the works the artists create. Their creations are all they have. You will be swiftly removed from the theatre by H if found doing so. 

- Please do not go onto the crossover in the evening. There have been too many incidents.

- The Dreamless generally stay in the last dressing room to the left. Never pay full attention to their stories, only enough to give a simple response. They have spent years crafting their realities to make them as enticing as possible. Don't fall for it. You won't make it back to the real world.

- No stealing props or costumes. They will know, and they won't be happy about it.

-Don't make bets with H.

The days are becoming colder. You watch the life get pressed out from your lips in a thin string, stitching the creases in your forehead and around your mouth. Once the job is done, it hangs in a cloud at the tip of your raw, pink nose, taunting you.

Do not fret, friend. When your feet feel like cement and your heart is a broken clock, simply make your way to the storage unit.

Sit among the old wooden flats and frames. Breathe. Listen closely. These sets have been around for far longer than you have. When your own story seems to be on pause, you can always expect their supply to never run dry.

We are doing well, thank you for asking. I'm afraid I haven't had much time to tend to this blog recently, as we have been busy planning for our upcoming productions as well as keeping everyone safe from this virus going around.

Some things you just cannot daydream away.

The library is warm.

You don't quite remember how you found your way upstairs, but you now wander through the many shelves of the wide room. Silver light streams from the east-facing windows, illuminating the dust that hops about every time you disturb a tape or book.

You poke your head around the shelves to see large windows overlooking the glass roof of the scene shop. Small figures are working diligently inside.

Your fingertips are drawn to an old tape marked "Phoenix- opening night" in neat handwriting.

A tap at the door.

Your eyes flick towards the entrance, to the office across the hallway. A robed figure stands between them.

The Conservator gives you a warm smile, and points towards a small television in the corner of the room.

You slide in the tape and press rewind, and The Conservator turns to enter the office.

The past comes to life right before your eyes.

when my fear is gone, i will return to the stages i've been on before. thank you for reassuring me, and inspiring me. and mr styxberry- i'm sorry people were mean to you. at least we both know now that they were silly, and wrong. - wren

Indeed, we artists must look out for each other.

Take all the time you need to heal. The stage will welcome you warmly whenever you are ready.

i miss theatre. i used to spend half my life on the stage, but as i grew older, my peers seemed to care less and less, and spend more and more time on other things. they would mock me for caring so much. eventually, the people around me hurt me so much i had to step away from the stage. but i miss it. i've been writing my own monologues and reciting them at home, but it's not the same. i want to capture an audience again. i want to see them feel. - wren

And theatre misses you, dear friend.

There is no time like the present, and no one that is powerful enough to truly douse the fire that is raw human passion.

Go ahead, boldly now! The world is waiting patiently to feel what only you can make it feel.

I remember a time... I was once mocked, but mocked by the blind. They told me I was a fool, for I did not linger in the cold, hard earth as they did.

I have since found those who lift me up from the gray soil and stand by my side in worlds of our own making.

I pray that you will not tread too long upon colorless roads. Because unlike those who ridicule you, you posess the ability to see that they are void of life, and thus make them new by the craftsmanship of your own soul.

Every once in a while, I take them out to the courtyard. It's not good for them to be without fresh air for so long, and the air of the theatre grows terribly musty at times.

The sky is ribbons of silver cream across a dim pallete.

The plants hold their ground, firm in the soil while their limbs stretch and churn over and over again.

But still, like every other time, they bumble their way back inside the shop, muttering about things that do not exist.

I am once again left to sit among the lillies alone.

i have not been to the theatre for a long, long time. i used to perform in places like this. may i stand on the stage and sing to nobody, just to see how far my voice carries? - wren

Of course, dear Wren. The dust your mind's eye sweeps from golden memories will carry your voice to every crack in these old walls, embedding your story inside forever.

I didn't hear all of it, but at some point there was a passionate rhyme involving some wood puns with noticably dirty subtexts echoing through the hallways.

H might have heard more of it, you could try asking.
