Emily’s Relationships

Nick: Emily obviously loved him very much, still does. They’ll always be intertwined because of Flynn, but like she said at the end of season 1, they are different people after what happened to her. He knew her before and I think the old her is still too much at the front of his mind for anything other than friendship and a shared love for Flynn.

Tommy: I think Emily genuinely loved him and wanted to be in a relationship with him, but there is still so much for her to learn about her abduction and tourture that she’s too much in her head for her to truly let her guard down and let him in. Also he’s too close to the crap that happened to her when she got back. That being said his death obviously took a toll on her and she blames herself. I also think it let her see that she can’t go through this alone and needs to let someone in, so she can finally start healing, even with all the questions that are still out there.

Cal: Now here’s someone that has me confused. Can we trust him? We can’t truly know yet, there is still way too much that we don’t know about his past. But, that being said, I think he’s good for Emily. Whether that be in the form of a relationship or something more is still up in the air. But what I do know is that she’s not afraid to show him her panic attacks. She didn’t have a choice really but he’s not freaked out and doesn’t panic. He knows how to calm her down and bring her back to the real world. He’s patient with her and lets her do what she needs to fully come back to reality. She’s not really had that the entire time she’s been back.

In short, I really hope that they get another season and we can see the gang come to terms with what happened in the last episode and to see if anything blossoms between Emily and Cal. This is an amazing show and I just wanted to give the cast and crew major props for making content that keeps us on the edge of our seats and keeps us guessing.
