Remus’s silence was interrupted by the battle cry of “I’m coming to save you!” followed by Sirius barraging through the closet door. The door immediately shut with a distinctive click.

“Great, now we’ve got two idiots locked in here.”

“WHAT?! I just unlocked it!”

“It’s spelled you git. We’re not getting out of her unless someone pulls us.”

“Don’t be mean Moony, I’m sure James and Peter are on their way.”

Remus was about to roll his eyes and retort the likelihood James and Peter would also catapult themselves through the door but was stopped by Sirius’s signature pout. Remus had seen it many times; shrouded by darkness as Sirius asked if he could sleep in Remus’s bed, with a wink when Sirius asked for help covering up a prank, but never in such close proximity. He suddenly became aware of how tight the space was. When it was just him, Remus could barely move and down, but now he could feel his best friend’s rapid breaths on his face and neck. Thankfully his blush was covered by the darkness, but this realization caused Remus to lean away from Sirius and against the rickety shelves. They came crashing down, and Remus grabbed Sirius’s waist to shove them into the even smaller–and now significantly dustier closet. Sirius covered Remus’s hands with his own and gazed up with that cheshire grin, lips only a few centimeters apart. 

“Careful there Moony, it’s a tight fit.”
