BUT I WANT A GIRLFRIEND
I’m a 16 year old profoundly deaf Irish dancer, but I wear a CI. I’ve been dancing for 10 years now and have been competing for 5. I’m in prizewinner, for those of you who know about Irish dancing.
Y’all i had a weird ass mf day...
Imma start from the beginning. I just moved to Texas like 2 months ago now and at lunch I sat with some people on the first day so I wouldn’t be alone, you know. Well they’re all weird gross freshmen/ sophomores. I’m a Junior. I barely speak at the table and I just stare at my phone and eat, but they all scream like banshees and call me “alpha” ?? IDEK. So today, most of the group wasn’t there, but one guy was. He’s nice, but odd. Like he aLWaYS is complaining about his job and is always asking me to go to the library with him to play video games, and I say that I’ll consider it. I really don’t want to go play video games, I just say that to appease him.
TODAY, MOTHERFUCKERS, TODAY... homeboi slides me a note and I’m like wtf is this? Ii open it and the first thing I see is that is supposed to be addressed to me but he thought my name was a weird version of Lindsay or some shit. It’s not. At all. It’s Leslie. It’s on my ID. Anyway I read the rest of the note and he was talking about how I’m apparently the love of his life and that he wants to spend the rest of his life with me. Super creeped out atm. I just sorta slid the note back to him and laughed and was like haha no sorry this isn’t happening.
He can’t spell / doesn’t even know my name. He has “known” me for two months but I rarely talk about myself or about anything in general. He has the audacity to call me his lover (enter shudder here), his best friend, etc. Boi sitcho dumb ass down. I ain’t falling for that crap. Bye. If anything, that raises red flags. Like why is someone obsessed with me in such a short period of time? None of this makes sense and I don’t wanna figure it out. Imma sit somewhere else at lunch from now on.
Song lyrics
the great thing about being both genderfluid AND bisexual is that you can lipsync along to any song, sung by any gender, to any other gender and it will still work.

ok so y’all know how sometimes when you open a gift, you playfully shake it near your ear to try to hear what’s inside? Well I’m completely, profoundly deaf, but I wear a cochlear implant on my right ear and I can hear perfectly out of it. I picked one of my gifts up and I shook it on my left side, but then I was like “oh wait, I can’t hear out of that ear...” and I moved it over to my right ear. I didn’t realize everyone was listening and then they all started laughing and I started laughing too. They asked me if I was being serious like if it was just a joke or if I actually meant it. I truthfully replied that I was being dead serious and what I said came out of my mouth before I realized it. SMH
“GET THE HELL OUT OF ME”
3 types of people that say this:
- someone getting horrible dick
- someone in labor
- someone having a HUGE shit
Ok but honestly I’m really liking piercings, but I have such a low pain tolerance that I am looking for faux ones like from Claire’s for lips, septum, ears, and nose. They’re subtle, but my parents, being the white conservative republican selves, are shooting me down at every chance they get. Like fr? They say I’m doing it just because everyone else is and it looks trashy and blah blah blah... Legit, I can take them out in a professional setting and geez I’m so frustrated because I’m honestly not doing it to be edgy or anything, I just think its a cute look and I want to experiment with different styles while I’m young to find my style now. My sister has some real ones and they hated them and they eventually forgot, but the thing is, she got them herself because she’s an adult, but I can’t wait that long.
Oh, just hide it.
No.
Why should I? People shouldn’t treat me differently if they see my cochlear implant.
you should let people do what they want and if they want to hide it because its really embarrassing and abnormal (like me) let them and don’t try to persuade them into “showing it off” or whatever. i agree that other people should stay out of people’s business but they’re not coming from a completely strange point of view.
I hate authors named Arthur bc when i have to type both of those nouns frequently, I mess up so much and become very frustrated easily, thus resulting in me usually crying. Even the fact that they sound very similar fucks up my mind when I talk in my head. Please, for my educational sanity, don’t name your children Arthur.
Christian Rant
Ok. So I don’t really believe in God as in being a Christian, but I sorta believe in something out there. I just cannot believe in it all.
I was at religion class, being forced to by my parents as well as attending church (torture for me to sit through all the bullshit), and one thing struck me.
When you hear heaven you typically think of a huge gate in the clouds and everyone happy and dancing, right? Well the video I was shown in class, MADE BY A CHRISTIAN GROUP FOR CONFIRMING TEENS, they said that heaven is a personal thing. Like whatever makes you happiest, you’ll have that when you die, assuming you go to heaven. But then I remembered that people say there is one heaven.
HOW THE FUCK?!?! How can there be an individual heaven for everyone, yet heaven is a generic place? Where is there space for everyone’s heavens apparently?
When I asked my teacher about it afterwards, she literally had to think of an answer for a little while. If all this is real, why do Christians say contradicting things and why does my teacher, a super white christian mom of three, not have a direct answer to my very logical question?
Because I call B.S. I don’t want to diminish anyone else’s belief in God, but if I see flaws in this religion, and I don’t believe, I shouldn’t be forced to stay right? Like my parents should stop forcing their religion unto me as if they’re model parents? Like they literally never go to church except for the holidays and before my class. They’re fucking hypocrites and I get really sad when I go.
I don’t like church. I don’t like being forced to participate in something I don’t consent to. Going to church and religion class makes me very uncomfortable and I don’t want to stay.
I’m a very loud and outgoing person, but every time I step into those two places, I feel very uncomfortable and shut down and quiet. I don’t want to confirm. I don’t want to think about marriage right now or in the near future. I like the way I dress and I don’t want to have kids. I am not a Christian. I don’t care if people do abortion or not. I support LGBTQ+ so much. Hell, I might even be a part of it. I’m still having conflicting thoughts right now. I don’t say the pledge in school. I literally dgaf about anything christian related. I am not sexist, racist, homophobic, republican, or conservative or anything else like my parents, even though they deny it, I see how they really react to these things.
I respect other people that believe in it, but I only ask for the same respect back for not believing in it. It makes me so sad because my BEST FRIEND is christian and I tried bringing this up a little a while back, but she was like, “oh don’t worry I can help. I’ll show you the path,” or something like that. I don’t want to lose her friendship because she is great in every aspect of our friendship, as long as we don’t bring up not believing in god, abortion, trump, etc. I fake being christian, and it kills me. I don’t want to lose her, but acting as if I believe in this religion, I lose myself more and more each day.
After church and class, I go home and stand in the shower and cry. Literally not even exaggerating. I literally cry after being in church. It’s so overwhelming and it’s too much.
Stop forcing other people in your family to believe in what you want. Everyone is individual and people shouldn’t be forced to participate in something that makes them very uncomfortable. Take their mental health into consideration and trust them.
Teenagers and Adults on Halloween, Recess, Bouncy Houses, and Other Things.
Hello! This is a rant. If you want to, you can scroll past it, or you can read it :)
Ok. So, I just reblogged a post about teens and trick-or-treating, and it sparked this little rant. I’m not sure how to link things, so I’ll give an overview. Basically, it was saying that if a teenager is dressed up for Halloween and knocks on your door, give them candy. There could be a bunch of reasons why they’re trick-or-treating (other than the fact that it’s fun and also free candy); for example, they could have spent most of their childhood in the hospital (aka they never got to trick-or-treat), they could have a disability, they could have just come from another country and wanted to see how it was celebrated, etc. You don’t know the person’s situation. I added that the same thing applies to adults.
I also wanted to share two stories:
One time, when I was in 8th grade, our gym teacher let us go to the elementary school playground. As soon as she said it, everyone’s face lit up. When we got there, we played gravel, swung on swings, and generally had fun. Adults, teachers, teens, etc have this preconceived notion that anyone over the age of 11 is too old for recess, that it’s not necessary. It’s simply not true.
I was at a convention this summer that had adults, teens, kids, etc. During opening ceremony, one of the people on stage said something about a bouncy house, and let me tell you, every single person in that entire room cheered. The adults, teens, and kids. All of them.
What I’m trying to say here is this: from the time that we can comprehend English, this notion is driven into our heads. “You can’t go trick-or-treating if you’re over the age of 12.″ or “Why do you want recess? You’re too old for that.” The point is that things are still fun no matter what your age is. Sometimes things that we’re told aren’t necessary past a certain age are still very necessary. This notion that you need to outgrow fun things is just plain stupid. If we could all just let people have fun, that would be great.
And who doesn’t want free candy?
Irish Dance
I wonder if there are any other completely deaf, but not really, irish dancers out there too. Like I’m completely deaf but I have a cochlear implant so I can hear really good with it on, and I’ve been dancing for about 10 years. I’m in prizewinner, but I wonder if I’m the only one at all.
I’m literally late for everything but thankfully I’m never late for my period
