A few stray beads of rainwater stuck to the fabric of her black knit cap, the droplets on her shoulders and gloves having less success hanging on thanks the fabric of her stealth suit. Her boot did not squeak despite the thief investing no effort whatsoever to conceal her steady, rapid footfalls that brought her to the backroom of their temporary lair. Much like the storm that crashed and howled outside these secure walls, Takara moved forward without hesitation. Not one glance was spared at the few others who milled about the common space as she wove her way through, gaze focused on the man standing near the far wall.
The folder gripped in her hand was opened and spread in one fluid motion, palms pressed down against the edges of the table ; her voice was low and barely audible , but she did not wait for him to look at her before speaking, instead allowing the photos to tell the story. “ We have a problem. ” The pictures were somewhat blurred, but this was considered just fine when compared to most surveillance images. “ Thompson wasn’t taken into custody. He was working for them from the start. ”
Betrayal wasn’t a light event in any field of work ; that is, it was hardly a small matter in any aspect of life — but no one ever made it out of life alive, anyhow….but this job : this singular, isolated reality where the stakes were just as high, but here, there was a desire to walk away in one piece. This was no mistake , this was a DISASTER.
Her critical gaze remained on her employer’s visage, a small part of her wondering if this was already old news. Or better yet, that there these images did not show the betrayal that she thought she saw. Small sub-schemes were kept between employer and employee all the time : perhaps this was an example. “ Am I wrong? ”
David stood near the window, over looking the street as he was in a deep thought. he didn’t even hear the people around him speaking, or he actually did but choose to ignore most of them as their little ideas and plans that they wanted to bring to the table would bring more HARM than push his status up. with a little sigh he turned around, ready to speak until Takara entered the room, holding a folder in her hand which she placed on the table between them.
Dry lips pressed together while he turns his head to the side, letting one hand grip the edge of the table while the other made a slow movement towards the picture of one of his former employee. the picture was indeed blurry, but that clearly didn’t hide too much of the TRAITORS face. a low hum could be heard from him as his bright blue eyes looked at it, eyes slowly narrowed into slits as he straightens himself and softly said. “ some people just never learn! he used to be a loyal accountant, it’s a good thing that my savings have been transferred to another account of mine. hmm, but still, some very TROUBLESOME NEWS. ”
He casually sat himself down on one of the chairs, at the table, and he let his elbow lean against the leaning from the chair while placing his thumb under his chin and his finger just below his lip while he seemed to be in his own thoughts. he would finally drop his arms again, while sitting back and having a serious expression on his face looked at her. “ killing him won’t be a big problem, but to cover up the information he has brought to these big boys might be a little problem. just a lot of unnecessary work that needs to be dealt with tonight! ” he said tonight quite specific, as if he already knew to who he had to go to too solve this little problem, or know with whom to deal with, but certainly someone who might need some persuasion.
