POINT OF ORIGIN: Almost 100% 616 comics, with changes made on a instance by instance basis.

ABILITIES/SKILLS: Meggan is a mutant empath, metamorph, and elemental of great power, with faery heritage. Empathic Metamorph: Can Shapeshift into any living creature even those that only exist in myth, and acquire their powers. Her physical appearance is still affected by how those around her most want her to look.

Natural Perception: Meggan has the ability to “See” and “hear” natural/biological patterns of force in the world around her, linking her with these patterns in the world around her.

Empathy: A telepathic talent which enables Meggan to sense the emotions and feelings of all living creatures (from people, to animals, to plants) and can broadcast her own feelings in order to influence other people's emotions.

Flight: Meggan has the ability to propel herself through the air at high speeds by force of will. While she does so, her hair streams out behind her to a length far longer than it usually is. Whether this is a conscious use of her shapeshifting power is unknown. Meggan can apparently support great weights even when flying.

Environmental Adaptation: Meggan can adapt to her physical environment, becoming impervious to cold without changing shape to adapt.

Reality Warp Resistance: Because of her shape changing power, Meggan has some resistance to the reality-warping powers of others.

Meggan was married to Brian Braddock aka Captain Britain aka Captain Avalon, but after another fight and another week of ignoring each other it was finally too much and the pair divorced.

Meggan was not taught to read until very recently and is very self conscious about her ability to read while working with children.

HOW DOES YOUR CHARACTER FEEL ABOUT EMPEROR DOOM?: Before she was found by other mutants Meggan didn’t even know he was supposed to be a threat in her universe, so when the otherworld began to fold in on itself Meggan went with Emperor Doom willingly.

HOW DOES YOUR CHARACTER FEEL ABOUT THE BATTLES? ARE THEY TRYING TO AVOID THEM? OR ARE THEY EAGER TO JUMP IN?: People hurting each other is not something she finds any joy in, but the rush of pride from some of the winners do make some of the shows addicting.

WHY HAS YOUR CHARACTER ACCEPTED THEIR JOB POSITION? WILL THEY USE IT TO GET CLOSER TO DOOM? OR WILL THEY USE IT EXPLOIT HIM? OR DO THEY SIMPLY LIKE THEIR JOB?: At first Meggan wondered if it was some kind of slight, the implication that with all her power all she was good for was to watch some kids, but after beginning her work she cannot imagine a place where she feels more at home. A band of rugrats from across the multiverse and she is able to be for some of them, the kind understanding adult figure she was never given in her childhood.

💫— “No no no, wait up just a moment.” Meggan’s ankle swollen and angry as she made her way over to the figure approaching her set up. “It’s my stuff, it’ll be gone in a second, promise.”

layla had decided to take some time to recover from… everything that had gone on recently around latverion. whether it was caused by doom or not - it was chaotic and dangerous and something she wholly condemned. too many people had been thrust into danger unwillingly and she was angry about it. sniffing, layla wiped at her face as she pulled her shawl closer around her - the view from the lighthouse in arcadia was spectacular - and though she wasn’t alone - she had largely kept to herself. that was until someone came up beside her. “sorry, i must look a mess - it’s… a beautiful view, isn’t it?” she asked, pushing a smile through as she turned to face her welcome companion. “do you come here often?”

💫— Meggan’s time in Latverion had not been scarred with unpleasantness like she could feel from the others, reconnecting her with old friends, and consistently opening the door for new ones. A second chance for her and Maggie, all because Doom had offered his hand to her and offered her the moon. The lighthouse wasn’t unlike the one in Avalon, and it made for an excellent place for Meggan to steal a moment to admire the stars. She didn’t do it on purpose, end up next to the other woman, but she couldn’t help it, it was hard to describe. Like she had simply been following the smell of a sweet pie like a sunday morning cartoon. The strangers energy, full of warmth… and injustice. “I think you look lovely.” Fingers reached out to gently rest on top of her shawl, squeezing quickly before retreating. “Almost every night, it’s—” Eyes not darting, but moving to take the other woman in more fully “—When I find myself especially overwhelmed with it all, it’s nice.” Another comfortable pause, taking in the quiet breeze. “I’m Meggan, I live in the cottage just there.” Finger extending out, pointing clearly in the direction below.

“In case you wanted to stalk me I suppose.” A joke, or an attempt at one, to break some of the bittersweet energy dancing around them.

A part of him wanted to say something comforting but all that came out of his mouth was, “That must really suck.” It was simple, and a stupid thing to say, but that was sometimes how Miles operated. He paused nodding at her. “Well, if you want to be something, you can tell me, and I’ll… help?”

He didn’t really know if that was how it worked but he was willing to help her if it was. A pause as he looked back at her, momentarily. “Can you do that? Y’know use my powers? Cause you’re welcome to. It might be helpful if we’re both invisible actually.” It might’ve saved a lot of his friends’ lives, too, if he could’ve just made them invisible also. 

💫— Meggan smiled warmly at the offer, taking it, as she took so many other things, as a genuine offer of friendship.

“Only if I’m copying you completely, which… I don’t like doing that, it’s too personal.” Instead of leaning into the psyche of her partner, Meggan closed her reflective reptile eyes focusing on adapting to what would keep her safest, her limbs got longer, lighter, easier to slip among the shadows. “It had been quite some time since I saw combat, I don’t mind going in first.”

A small laugh escaped him at the thought of someone being excited to work with him. Not that he didn’t appreciate it, Miles wasn’t immune to ego inflation after all. “Nice of you to say, since I’m not the one who can shape shift into literally anything she wants,” he said, pulling at his mask ever so slightly. A nod of his head followed her words eyes darting around the castle as they waited for doombots. “Yep, yep, just like an escape room, minus the whole the doombots are here to murder us bit.” Feet stumbled to a stop and Miles found himself swinging a web up into the ceiling. “I’ll scout ahead, stay to the shadows and when you see the web…” He nodded his head at her, figuring she’d know what to do. He took off, turning invisible as he did, using the ceiling to find the rabid doomies. “Oh, man, those do not look friendly,” he mumbled.

💫— “anything anyone wants” it was the smallest correction, but to meggan it was the difference that separated her from the real heroes. slipping further into the shadows was a familiar sensation, but no true fear raced in her chest. this was dangerous but between the two of them hardly deadly.

“that’s a very clever trick, being invisible, you’ll have to teach me sometime.”

💫— “i’m really excited to get to work with you.” meggan could sense her partners anxiety or maybe it was her own, as they began to make their way deeper into the castle. “if you think about it it’s just like those american escape rooms, i’ve always wanted to go to one of those.” her voice was steady and smooth even as her pupils began to shrink and change, yellow tiger eyes allowing her to see movement further down the hallway. her arm flying out and catching his chest, like a mother at a sudden stop. “doombots.”

he paused in his tracks and looked up at her slowly - she was something unique but not threatening and pretty. even groot had to take a moments pause. when she broke the silence and let them enter the cottage, rocket shook his head and stepped aside to let groot bring in the bag. “don’t worry about it! it’s just stuff we had around and well, i make a million glue guns a day.” he waved it off before giving a small shrug. “okay that’s an exaggeration, i don’t actually make a million of them but i always am making something.” was he rambling? he was probably rambling. but she was just so nice and she made him feel comfortable. a feeling that he hardly felt, if ever.

groot outstretched his arm and offered the bag to her freely before reaching up to pluck a newly bloomed flower from his shoulder to offer to her. “he’s offering you friendship, when he does that it means he likes and trusts you. groot knows people real good, so i always trust his instinct.” rocket added helpfully tilting his head as he watched the action, silently folding his arms as he leaned up against one of the walls. “so did you arrive recently or were you laying low? because if it’s the latter, i can’t blame you none - latverion is weird.” he asked, curious about her and how she landed in arcadia.

💫— meggan had been taught time and time again that her most powerful tool was also her greatest weakness, empathy without boundaries was a ticking bomb waiting to go off. but in this moment, as ease and the excitement of a new friendship filled the room meggan felt a swell of pride. “a passion is important.”

the flower plucked almost brought her to tears, meggan focused on groot for a moment, sending empathic waves of thanks, opening a way of communication if he wished. “it’s beautiful, thank you.” ever so gently, meggan tucked the flower into her hair, anchored around her pointed ear. “i have not been here as long as others…” about a month, since avalon had begun to fold in on itself and a hand offered her help stepping through a crack with maggie on her hip “… but i am not very good at making new friends, so before i asked for help it wouldn’t surprise me if no one knew i was here.

💙 — He did his very best, which wasn’t much at all, to not chuckle at her surprise. The warm laughter made it into the embrace, chest shaking gently against hers as blue arms squeezed his beloved Meggan. “I do have that effect,” he teased, raising her hand to his lips to kiss it. Extravagant and lovely and so fluid in the way they acted around one another. “As a matter of fact, I was coming to ask you that. I have the night free. How may I be of service?” 

💫— A cosmos of butterflies erupted in her stomach, it was overwhelming, it almost made her was to sob, to release the flood of emotions. Instead Meggan squeezed tighter. It was like, dancing, she spent half of her time flying and still this gliding felt like something smoother than that. When he moved she moved. “Of course you do Mr Nightcrawler” Lips pressed against the back of her hand, flashes of her childhood in front of a television, the swashbuckler with a heart of gold meets the strange princess in a tower. A warm blush creeped up her cheeks, not pink or even red, but blue spreading out across her body, warmth not just from within but her skin as well as a layer of soft fur replaced her well worn ‘Human’ form.

The truth was there were not many tasks that needed doing, truly she should tell Kurt so, that there wasn’t anything that needed done, that there wasn’t an ounce of responsibilities on them. Instead her eyes flicked down to the sea. “I need help collecting stoned and shells, well worn, for the children to paint on…” Her gaze returned to his face, voice soft. “Come with me?”

CLOSED STARTER: Kurt Wagner aka Nightcrawler aka Dear Friend aka @bamfelf​

💫 - One would think years and utopia planes of existence of being around Kurt, Meggan might have gotten a little better at not being startled when he bamfed in next to her, but still the faerie’s entire body jumped. Quickly her surprise melted to warm affection, her arms opening without question to welcome the mutant into an embrace. “Kurt!” An easy joy washed over her and she let herself settle into the moment with a safe friend, slowly stepping out of familiar fuzzy arms. “I know I just saw you, but, I missed you!” Missed his friendship, his company, his smile, all the things someone could possibly miss about a person, maybe it was how deeply she missed the rest of the Excaliburs almost all of them that made the ache stand out so clearly. “What does the mighty ring master need from me today?” A playful glint in Meggan’s eye as she gently nudged a finger against his chest.

it was early enough in the morning for rocket to have already been spending a few hours working on his next latest contraption when he decided to check the community-based chats. groot had been sitting in the corner eating his breakfast when rocket declared to them that they were going to make a trip over to arcadia and to bring the fabrics he didn’t really want - or felt like kids would like. “i am groot?” “yeah, its for tiny humies and not-humies - a puppet show, i think? i don’t know but we gotta go over and bring the safe glue guns and i promised fabric.” “i am groot,” “oh yeah, that’s smart very cute of you.” at that, groot tossed over a stuffed bear he’d found as rocket caught it and began to clean it up.

when they arrived, rocket let out a low whistle at how atmospheric it was to see all the beauty that the lighthouse location - and the cottage - really was. “man this place really makes latverion almost worth it, okay come on groot - ” with a grunt, rocket turned to look over his shoulder as groot carted a giant stuffed bag full of things - with the stuffed bear’s head poking out. stepping up to the door, rocket knocked and cleared his throat before loudly announcing himself and groot. “uh, hello? we’re rocket and groot - swinging by like we said we was with the glue gun and fabric and well, groot found a few more things you might like too?”

💫—The wooden moon that had hung from the painted plywood tree that acted as a boarder for the puppet theater had been broke off when a partially sticky child had wondered if it was real and went to touch. It wasn’t the biggest deal, but the children had been especially looking forward to the next part of The King Of England and His Three Sons. So when help was offered Meggan took it enthusiastically.

The empath felt the pairs approach before any knock at her door, which was left wide open, almost all the doors in the cabin were. Meggan didn’t notice it, but as she made her way to greet them, her features shifted, earthy tones creeping up to her blush, pointed ears becoming like a burl on a tree, nose and mouth becoming pointed and almost fox like. But her appearance could not change the radiant smile on her face. “Thank you!!” Reaching out she offered her hand to Rocket, before her eyes took in the bag on his partners back. “Merlin, that is generous of you, a dosta*” Meggan held her hands outstretched in front of her, feeling at ease by the steady wave of friendship between the pair. “I can take that and set it down?”
