honestly women look way better without makeup
Honestly a lot of women just love to wear makeup and it has nothing to do with body image
amazing how i really don’t care what you think and if you think there isn’t a societal pressure for women to wear makeup and if they don’t they are treated differently you’re living blind now fuck off
I never said there wasn’t societal pressures for women to wear makeup. And that is a problem, no one should be forced or be pressured to doing anything that is expensive and time consuming that they don’t like. But you are ignoring a side of the argument that some women just actually like buying makeup, doing their makeup and wearing makeup for themselves. Makeup is a hobby and a career for a lot of women. In this day and age, we are starting to accept men wearing makeup as well and slaying along side us. Which is a good thing. Yes, women look good without makeup. But if they like wearing makeup, then let them love what they love.
but nothing exists in a vacuum, that includes makeup and how it’s only women pressured to wear makeup. you can’t use “some women just seem to like wearing it!!!” because those women still ultimately live in a world where women are pressured to conform or be punished. all of women’s decisions are influenced by the misogyny we face based on things we do or don’t do in relation to conforming to patriarchal standards, whether we like it or not, and that needs to be acknowledged when discussing things that only women are forced to do and not men.
makeup isn’t “slaying” when you’re punished if you don’t wear it. and if women were truly given the choice to never wear makeup without being considered inferior for it or told from birth that our bare faces are ugly, how many do you think would put so much time, money and effort into something so unhealthy for you both physically and psychologically. so like i said, your nuance sucks, now fuck off.
Telling someone to fuck off just because you don’t agree with them is not how you have a valid discussion on anything.
I don’t know what societal pressures you have faced for not wearing makeup. From my own personal experience, I have never been pressured to wear makeup. I wanted to get into it on my own because it looked like fun. My mother only ever wore lip gloss 95% of my life and only ever wore like eyeliner and lipstick when it was something special going on. All the women in my life wore mostly bare faces. But aren’t you now punishing women who do wear makeup just because you believe it’s not good for their physical and mental health? Doesn’t that contradict what you stand for? Yes there is a problem with people who think bare faces are disgusting or unattractive. Yes we need to normalize bare faces. But understand, that you and the people who agree with you, are not going to change society’s view on beauty over night. It takes a combined effort on both fronts that say “yeah bare faces are completely normal and we should stop pressuring people to change how they look because we find it more attractive when they do it… but some people just like to do it because it’s fun and they are proud of themselves when they do it perfectly because that is art.” Isn’t that what feminism is? Showing that there is more than just one way to be a woman? That includes accepting bare face as the norm and allowing the women who like doing their makeup to do as they please.
So I get your points. Yes makeup can be misogynistic when only women are being pressured (no one is really being forced to) into wearing it and men who do are called gay( even though a good portion of men who wear makeup who aren’t actors are gay) for it. But makeup can be empowering when you are doing it for yourself. Because a women who can accept her bare face, wear comfy clothes and not give a damn about what society things of that is strong. But when a woman does her makeup, colors her hair, puts on high heels and wears that sexy dress for HERSELF, she is just as strong. Because you are unstoppable when you finally let go of what others think of you and start doing what you want for yourself.
I do hope you understand my side of this. But if you still rather me fuck off. I will now.
I hope you have a safe and blessed life. 🤗

Let people do or not do what they want happily without telling them to “fuck off.”
amaterasu aesthetic (okami, for anon)
Ladybugs and Japanese “happy” Endings
Ok but listen, it is said in some folklore (I’m pretty sure it’s Japanese) that ladybugs are said to messengers between lovers. To bring lost and/or separated loves together.
Also, in ancient Japanese tales a “happy” ending was one where one person usually died and the person they left behind comes to terms with their loss and that they will see each other again one day. Be it in another life or in the after life.
I appreciate the culture and references Genndy…but goddamnit why did you have to do it like this?!
Huuaghh
fuck WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR SAMURAI JACK!!!!!! AND MIRACULOUS LADYBUG AND ALL THE OTHER SHOWS RRRAHAHAHHFHKLJNKVCKXLDJHFKBNVKLSDÂ
Ah yes, Miraculous Ladybug also plays with the “ladybugs as messengers” trope. In the Valentine’s episode, I believe when Marinette is writing her valentine to Adrien a ladybug flies into her room and lands on it.
A bit later, while Adrien is contemplating on his valentine to Ladybug, a ladybug also flies in and lands on the piece of paper. If you look closely, it’s also the same ladybug that visits them. Even bugs ship them
He said in an interview that people would be crying
He didn’t lie...
Damnit Genndy.
This is his masterpiece, hands down

Now that is brilliant of Genndy.Â
Indeed. I am beyond impressed with all the nods to Japanese culture and tales he threw in there throughout the series. He did not disappoint. This might just be his masterpiece
Sorry for the spam
I just have a lot to say about this amazing series and it’s end.
I can’t believe it’s over
And what an ending it was
kinda 47 Ronin-ish too
In before there’s a extra “secret” episode after the marathon next week
AU where Ashi never faded and we get a traditional western “happily ever after”
I feel like Ashi knew
She knew that she wouldn’t last. She was so quick to explain to him as she was fading. But she wanted him to achieve his goal and be happy no matter the cost. She didn’t want to tell him and make him upset or worry. She wanted him to finish what he started, what he trained his whole life for no matter how things might turn out for her.
Sacrificing yourself for the sake of someone else...
That’s love right there.
