A late complaint, but "Out for Love" pisses me off. Like, it's such a pointless song. What hatred, what bloodlust? The entire season before, we were literally shown that Vaggi does everything out of love! "Whatever It Takes"—she literally sang about it! Lute had bloodlust, for that matter; she at least wanted to fight Vaggi not because Vaggi was threatening Adam, but out of the principle of "I didn't finish you off sooner, I'll finish you off now."
Hell, I'd even be glad if Vaggi actually had bloodlust and a desire for revenge! That would at least add something to her character! As it is, she had a desire to protect her beloved, and after Carmilla's song, she wants to protect her beloved again; she has no other desires at all! She's empty; even when they try to make her complex, she still ends up playing the literal role of "the main character's love interest." She's less well-written than the prince from Snow White. And that's saying a lot, because Snow White is the most classic fairy tale of its kind. In a fairy tale, you can and even should be just an archetype; the fairy tale itself is an archetype. But Hazbin tries to seem like something more. And it fails every fucking time!
(By the way, I love Snow White, I love all the versions of it, I love the old Disney cartoon. Old Disney - love, New Disney - ugh)
By the way, the idea that Vaggi was supposedly the coolest exorcist and super strong is completely broken: Lute beats her every single fucking time. The only time Vaggi was supposedly the winner and cool was actually when a collapsed hotel defeated Lute. And even after that, with one arm torn off, Lute caught up and beat Vaggi. In a clean sweep! So it seems Adam was just giving out compliments. (Like a parent to their child at some children's performance: you're the best! You're great! You're the coolest!)
“Think of who you care about”… like. For example. Her girlfriend? WHO VAGGI HAS BEEN THINKING ABOUT FOR THE ENTIRE SEASON? THE ONLY PERSON SHE HAS A CONSISTENT RELATIONSHIP WITH? HER ONLY MOTIVATION?
