Hi. I bring a tiny mini mod today. It's a small override of the snowflake texture in TS4 because I didn't like the EA one

My point? THIS!

EA (left) versus my override (right) - you decide which is cooler. Pun intended.

The entire game is stylized and cartoony but the snowflakes are realistic to the point where a 2009 ARPG outdoes its graphics, huh? Give it a try, I promise the difference is like night and day.

Ranch Expanded - Unofficial Buildmode Addon with 64 new items

It's finally done! This is why I tend to break up addons with multiple core styles; things get out of hand if I don't. And oh boy, did it get waaaay out of hand for Horse Ranch. Three core styles that were not fleshed out enough for my liking, and one without any corresponding doors or arches makes Peacy go overboard with filling the gaps. I am really happy with how it all turned out, and i am particularly in love with the open bifold doors I made, but i think I my eyes need a break from them for a while. Luckily you all won't have that problem, so build away!

Here's my collection of UI-ish templates that I've been working on and have used in some of my recent posts. This file includes 15 or so templates that you can copy and paste into your screenshots. Before I had this "workspace" I used to have multiple tabs and windows open, and I often forgot which templates I had. I tried my best to organize, label, and colour-code each template for easy customization. For sample images, tips on how to use PSDs, "hidden" features, and other download links, keep reading.

beginner-friendly tips for using these PSD templates and some fun, little features:

open the windslar PSD collection in a new Photoshop window, drag and drop the folder/group of the template you want to use onto the image you’re editing OR select the folder/group of the template you want to use and ctrl+c / cmd+c then ctrl+v / cmd+v to the image you're editing

download the helvetihand font linked in this post so you don't get that constant pop-up that the font will be replaced

resize by selecting the folder containing the template. if you resize individual layers, things may start to look wonky

play around with blending layers and opacities for your template backgrounds. if readability is important, stick with normal, 100% opacity and a contrasting font colour. feel free to change the blending modes and fonts if you feel comfortable doing so

drop shadows and other effects may look slightly different if copying the template to another image because Photoshop, by default, has 'use global light' checked off; just double click the layer style to customize shadows or the click the eye icon by the effect layer to make it invisible

moodlets come in four different styles: classic, soft, dark, and bright and include all emotions plus a neutral one

the announcement template includes the following events (and their corresponding icons): birth, marriage, divorce, death, and news/neighbourhood story

imessage templates have the tails of the speech bubble on a separate layer so they don't get squished when you resize them

want to put an album cover or a profile pic? use a clipping mask. select the appropriate layer (ALBUM or USERPIC) on the template you want to use, drag the image you want to use and position it on top of the layer. right click the image and select 'create clipping mask'. now just resize the image to fit in the confines of that shape.

the tweet / social bunny template has bonus social bunny reaction icons in an invisible folder

the weather template has a folder including icons for multiple weather events. similarly, the location template has an icon for all the worlds (base game worlds all the way to Tomarang). there's also a location pin icon if you choose not to use the game's worlds icons.

edit this to your heart's content. change the fonts, the colours, the shapes and hit 'save as' so you can always have your personalized template workspace to use during your editing process. but if someone asks you where you got your templates, i'd appreciate if you linked back to my original post

Ever since I started playing the Globetrotter challenge by @moonfi; I've been creating a collection of UI Widget style templates. This collection includes 20(ish) different templates for you to use in your gameplay screenshots. I'm hoping I did my best to make this as user-friendly as possible; but if you have any questions or notice something off - don't hesitate to message me or send an ask!

[Tips & Hints]

Open the awkwardwhims psd collection file in Photoshop, then drag & drop the folder or group of templates onto your image.

The photo album template was inspired by @folkbreeze (definitely check out their resources, they're all so nice!) & other various examples I saw online.

Resize the template by selecting the folder as a whole; resizing individual layers may makes things unaligned.

Feel free to change background colors/fonts/etc as much as you want.

The text message template has 3 styles: sender, green receiver & blue receiver. There are also reaction icons & a separate reaction bar.

For the to-do list template I didn't include every aspiration icon (I was trying to keep this file as small as possible) but you can download this pack by @deathbypufferfish that has all the aspiration icons you'll need. However, it may be missing some of the newer aspiratons.

When adding photos (album cover/recent photos/etc) use a clipping mask.

The weather template includes all the different weather icons, so be sure to hide/unhide the one that applies.

For the new transaction template, make sure to only change the number of the price otherwise the Simoleon symbol will get changed to Times New Roman.

The notification message template is for life events, bad events & default game notifications (ie: legacy player, etc).

Hi everyone 🦦

A few weeks ago, I decided to take the time to share each of my lots and households as dedicated posts, but I'm realizing that in the end there isn't much feedback, and that it doesn't seem to interest that many people (apart from a few loyal followers whom I thank for their kind words, really!).

So as not to get bogged down in the subject and spend a lot of time taking screenshots of every aspect of the lots and writing detailed posts for each of them, I've decided to share it all in one block, so it's done once and for all. This will be in two posts, given the rather large amount of content shared (a total of 55 terrains and 88 Sims).

🗺️ For each lot, I specified the world, the neighborhood and the original lot it replaces. You can check the Sims Wiki to find the lot if needed (in most cases, with the lot size and the thumbnail you should be able to manage).

If you use @simsontherope lots, lots replaced by those won't overlap, I took care of lots he wasn't going to renovate.

💡 All lots are playtested but I might have missed some issues. They use no CC, but all of them require almost all currently available packs.

🧩 For residential rentals, I listed the units with their names in my game and the number of rooms as those are reseted when installing them. I've also specified the Sims living there if applicable.

🦦 Some Residential Rentals use lot traits I created to make their shared areas act as community lots. You can grab the mod here.

👨‍👩‍👦 For the households, if they live on one of the lots listed (or a specific unit for residential rentals), this will be specified.

Some households are grouped together for sharing in the gallery (to maintain family ties), so you'll need to split them according to what's shown in the captures.

You can use the biographies below to add family descriptions after splitting them.

For the [NPC] households, simply install them on an empty lot and then evict them immediately. Then in the Manage Households window, click on each household, mark them as Unplayed, and move them in the Other Households tab.

👤All my Sims come with multiple outfits - including 3 everyday outfits and a customized career one, multiple skills, preferences, a career, additional milestones and some other things set up if you use Lumpinou's amazing mods 🤗

Unfortunately, the gallery doesn't save the relationships between household members, so you might refer to the family dynamics and the milestones to set them up.

De Witte - Row 1

The De Witte's are a very conventional family: Bart is the slightly too curious father whom everyone adores, especially his son Maarten; Florieke made the sensible choice not to follow her passion for music to pursue a career, but she passed the bug on to young Niels, who rarely goes anywhere without his guitar.

Mansour - Row 1

Mustafa and Janelle have really found each other: he's happy to let Janelle wear the panties while showering her with love, while he relaxes and smokes up the living room with his "medicinal herbs". Between a demanding mother and a mild-mannered father, Lola carves out her own path and lives the life of a typical teenager, worrying about popularity and handsome boys (particularly her neighbor).

Dhani - Row 2

Sahil has always been considered an endearing eccentric. But he has no problem with that! Sailing from passion to passion, he is simultaneously interested in candle design, pizza preparation and grass cultivation, much to the delight of his neighbors!

Ortiz - Row 2

Beneath her confident demeanor, Angelica hides a strong sensitivity and a broken heart. She's banking everything on her career, and on her little daughter Maya, whom she pampers to the max, because in life they've always shared the same challenges. As for Maya, she does her best to live up to her mother's expectations of her.

Canonge - Row 2

Aimé has spent most of his life traveling the seas, learning lessons from the four corners of the globe. Forced to stay in port because of a bad back, he finds comfort in telling the stories of his adventures to anyone who will listen!

Mansour-Rey - Row 2

Anouk and Youcef had everything to succeed after their brilliant studies, but they preferred to live a bohemian life, even if it meant neglecting their responsibilities. This was a little complicated for little Salim, who fortunately became a personality in his own right and a boy just as dazzling as his parents (despite his tendency to love those who will give him nothing in return).

Entre Filles - Row 3

Ashley and Célia both have big ambitions and dream of becoming famous (in the world of influence or music), but in the meantime, they're happily enjoying life in their little apartment on Allée de la Gloire, between wild parties and fickle relationships.

Natalegawa - Row 3

It's in this modest Mirage Park apartment that the sporty Vayu and the curious Ratna have embarked on the latest adventure in their life of travel and discovery: getting closer to their daughter Parvati, who left a few years ago, to spend their old age by her side… and hopefully close to their future grandchildren whom they are impatiently awaiting!

Pearson - Row 3

No one knows exactly what shady business Geoffrey is up to on his boat. He receives many visitors, always one at a time, who leave with a smile on their face and their eyes a little redder.

Vaughan - Row 3

Natalie believes in the afterlife, and thinks she can interpret messages from people who have died or disappeared. Above all, she has a vivid imagination when it comes to inventing what people want to hear in exchange for money.

Kovač - Row 4

Youri has only one motto in life: enjoy life to the full, just in case it stops because you've done something stupid. Overly talkative, a bit of an exhibitionist and slightly awkward, he's not the neighbor you'd dream of when the walls are paper thin.

Bertin - Row 4

It was in Sébastien's father's equestrian center that he and Caroline met on horseback. Since then, they've never left each other's side: after their studies, a degree from Foxbury and the birth of their twin daughters Emilie and Cécile, they're still madly in love. The same can't be said for the little ones, who seem to oppose each other in every way!

Sinclair - Row 4

Darius's arrival at the Allée de la Gloire apartment complex has been very discreet, and he's keeping his distance from community life. He seems determined to break into the world of show business at all costs, even if it means offering a lot of himself to expand his network.

Few people are aware of Yolanda's existence, and many think she's dead. One of her rare visitors is her son Juan, who knows where to find her deep in the forest, which he knows like the back of his hand!
