Wow, how very original of you.
I think I’m the only one that can really say that.
You know the thing about originality though? If you don’t change it up now and then it grows stale, old, pathetic and boring. I think you’re past your use by date on this one.
That’s when things get thrown in the dumpster and the beggars and homeless people feed out of desperation. I like desperation. But, do tell, What would you suggest?

It’s a Pet Show in Hell
Heartbreak and Cordelia never went well together. Even as a vampire she tried to hold onto her human side tighter then she cared to admit. Bastin had told her time and time again to let it go and let her emotions go. That was one of things that led to their undoing. The only reason Cord decided to attach herself to Ba'al was her emotions over ruling her logic. Jealousy…she could make Tray jealous and he would come barging over. However Ba'al told her the one thing the vampire didn’t want to hear. Tray wasn’t the coming after them which only broke her heart more pushing her down the spiral of desperation. Cordelia never liked to admit she had an ego but boy did she. Right now it was deflated and by stroking Ba'al’s she thought perhaps he’d boost hers back up.
Nope. She had done just the opposite for him and soon discovered the punishment for fucking up in hell. The look on the demons face was not one she was familiar with and as she went flying knew it wouldn’t be the last time she’d see it.
Scraping, skidding, and slamming onto the unforgiving ground Cordelia couldn’t ever remember being in this much pain. Coughing and wincing the vampire pushed herself up weakly but her aching arms gave out as she hit the ground again. The dried weeds had caused scraps and cuts that the dirt and gravel worked its way into. Blood dripped from her nose causing her to dab at it. Looking up Cordelia was filled with disgust. This demon was pissing himself for what? To prove a point? To humiliate her in front of his lackeys? If it were possible she would have vomited right there. One thing she would learn today was that nothing in Hell made sense at least not to her.
Turning her head to spit out a rock that had worked its way into her mouth Cordelia wiped her lips. Pushing herself up this time into a sitting positron the vampire glared up at him. Dusting herself off a little Cordelia pushed some strands of hair out of her face before wiping her mouth again. The altercation had knocked the wind out of her. Woozy and a tad dizzy she tried to focus on his form. Ba'al wasn’t going to be a walk in the park but she had to survive him long enough to…to do what? Cordelia knew her need for revenge was going to be put on a hold so long as Ba'al decided to hold onto her. So much was rushing through her head as the vampire tried to regain her bearings. There wasn’t enough time to think at least not right now.
As he growled Cordelia got up on unsteady legs. Was she scared? Did the throw and the treatment she received after startle her and mess her up a bit? You’re damn right but other then physically she didn’t want to show it, because that’s what this demon wanted. However she didn’t have much control over what her emotions would betray. Watching him through burning eyes Cordelia didn’t know if it was better to act out, shut up, or apologize. In all honesty she figured there was no winning or right choice. Damned if you do damned if you don’t. Dusting off her dress she adjusted the straps only to find one had ripped. Spitting to the side again her mouth throbbed and ached. “Seems I gained myself a fat lip.” Her tone was full of sarcasm. “Damn the luck and my two left feet.” Sarcastic but she couldn’t help the anger that had crept into her voice. Looking around she wanted to yell at the other demons that the show was over but the fear Ba'al would continue if she did held her back. Instead she just looked at him knowing her hands were tied. “No ladies…just a bunch of demons and a pissed off bitch who can’t do a damn thing.” What else could Cordelia do but admit the facts.
Tray wasn’t the type to go running towards a woman he was jealous of over another man. Cordelia had probably seen this in the past. Cordelia had two suitors, a vampire, and him at the time. Yes, Tray was jealous of that vampire. But, he did what Tray believed was the only thing to do. He showed Cordelia who he was, what he had to offer in life, and then crossed his fingers and prayed she’d like him best. He wasn’t going to fight over anyone who didn’t choose him. That was a lost cause. He noticed even back then Cordelia seemed to like having two men fighting over her. But, Tray was the one that gave up. But, as many women might view it as ‘they should have fought harder for me’ Tray was the man who thought, ‘if I’’m worth it to you, it doesn’t matter what the other men offer, I don’t have to fight, because you’ll choose me, for me’ and that wasn’t good enough then so be it no matter how much it stung or hurt. She did choose the vampire for awhile. But, in the end she Tray and Cordelia ended up together after all. And now everything they’d worked towards had been destroyed by lie after lie and they were all deceit either of the pair may never know. At this point it looked bleak.
But, Cordelia was still trying to use advice meant to be followed on earth for the living to ‘survive’ her death. But, that was just it wasn’t it? She’d been alive, even undead, but it was her sire that doomed her to this existence now. The day she was bitten was the day she was damned and her undead life was over.
Her eternal damnation had begun. Everyone’s afterlife is different and can change over time. Look at Beckett. He was once a human, then lazarus, then werewolf. Andy and Augustus and Stacey were all roaming the earth after being in heaven for months. They aren’t ghosts. They were just released by the Archangel Gabriel. Caim’s chain gang were topside too despite being dead and damned and contracted to Caim’s name.
Even eternal damnation had a way of shifting and changing course. Where would Cordelia’s go next? Only time would tell, but for this night, she was being used. She was being used the moment Ba’al and Belial took her to the pet show. She wasn’t there for her own pain. She was there for Tray’s. No. She was there to cheat, to help Caim win when the competition was steep. She’d just been played like a fiddle in a part of an elaborate plot for Ba’al to brown nose a little with the devil. He had some making up to do.
But, when it was over and Ba’al had caused his spectacle to blow off steam, he did eventually take Cordelia where he planned. But, it was hardly a nice place to go. It was also hardly private. There would be others, not to mention the stench of insects, the buzzing noise of locusts ever helicoptering en mass. What would happen to Cordelia whether she liked it or not, whether she fought or not, eventually the Hellborn creatures and demons in Beezlebub’s lair would have their sport with her. Ba’al however would never touch her. He wouldnt dare lower himself to such standards. He liked to impregnate nuns and other purists. She was hardly pure. The damned didn’t interest Ba’al, especially not once human damned. But, trust and believe she would be defiled and Ba’al would watch and orchestrate others in a large room where Cordelia was just one of many. The evening wasn’t even put out with the spot light on her. She wasn’t anything special to him. What would happen would be bonded, inescapable, and cruel.
The temperature would be unstable and go from freezing to scorching many times throughout the night with such intensity it might be hard to tell the difference between a cold burn and a heat burn.
But, the kind of things that would happen would not be fun. They would not be sexy. They would not be pleasurable.
And she would live the longest harshest humiliating suffering she could experience since she’d been in Hell. If there were ever romanticized thoughts of what Hell could be, this would be the night she learned what true evil was, and why no one wanted to go to Hell.
And it would happen over and over and over in different ways, each more cruel than the last. All with eyes upon her. There were spectators watching the immorality, sadism, all masterfully orchestrated to feed depraved vices of demons and afflict the damned victims with a constant reminder they were in Hell and their sins punished forever. Every innocent person Cordelia ever murdered in the name of nourishment to keep her abomination of a prolonged life would be named in her ear. Maybe Bastin steered her wrong? Maybe survive at all costs wasn’t really the way to go after all? Maybe if she’d have died naturally she’d have ended up somewhere safely? In Heaven perhaps? Too late for what ifs now. She was in the middle of a chaotic Hell that she couldn’t escape from, run from, hide from, lie her way out of, repentance nowhere in sight, and eternity left to live it out.
She would witness a great many vile, foul, and disgusting things happen to herself and to others.
But, eventually Ba’al would grow bored and want to move along to other things. Demons would start to leave his lair. The other victims would be taken away too. At least most of them. A couple would still be chained up in corners and seemingly forgotten and completely ignored if they would yell out, cry, or speak. Cordelia would be one of them. They’d just be the ornaments for decor that seemed to go along with the rest of the dirty broken trashed up theme he seemed to have going on in there.
They’d be witness to the Hell Ba’al’s life was. Demons lived in their own Hell too. but Astarte, Ba’al’s most often and closest consort would show up after the show with some of her own whores for her Lord Ba’al to partake in.
But, Ba’al would approach Cordelia eventually after many days of over-indulgence in drugs and sex and bestiality himself (Gluttonous) and looked down at an exhausted soul.
“What was that about second?” Ba’al knew his own rank in Hell. But, he had a point to prove. If she didn’t think he was the most powerful thing over her in her life now, then he’d find another way to prove it. He’d break her spirits. He’d break her soul. He’d break her and break her again until there was no one in this world she would think of, no one else would even exist, his face, and pain would be all she would know, thirst, hunger, lethargy, unending suffering to the moment she saw him as the greatest power in her afterlife.
Then and only then he might let up.
A corrupt smug face smirked from behind Ba’al petting over his pale and bleeding skin over his shoulder down at Cordelia. There were few as malignant as Astarte able to take on Ba’al as a lover. Not many would want her place. But, she loved watching the damned suffer as much as any demon. So she stroked over Ba’al’s shoulders as that sneer seemed so overjoyed to hear what would come out of Cordelia’s mouth.

Before her heart had been ripped to shreds Caim’s words and appearance would have caused a violent outburst. Instead she simply smiled and nodded. They would speak but not any time soon. The new Cordelia didn’t give a damn about the bird man who had become the new devil. The one she wanted and would have her revenge on was under his protection…for now.
Even as Ba'al spoke to her Cordelia never took her eyes off Tray’s back. “Calm? Over my life?” Slipping an arm through his she gave a shake of her head. “I suppose this is the calm before the storm. That little…” Cutting herself off before all her plans were revealed the vampire let out a deep heated breath. “Not over my life just yet…but it’s a start.” Stroking Ba'al’s arm gently and chuckling softly she turned her no longer tear filled eyes up to his. “A lady never loses her cool in public Ace. Especially not over someone who is so willing to throw you away.”
With a flip of her raven locks Cordelia continued to stroke his arm and put on her best smile. “A real after life you say? No time like the present to start my new eternity. I do hope you’ve got something a bit more grander then this planned for us.” Motioning for him to lead the way Cordelia pushed all thoughts of Tray, Caim, and her planned revenge back deep into her brain. “I mean it’s not every day you get hang on the arm of the second highest demon in Hell.”
Her smile and nod was quite amusing to Caim. There she was trying to hold her dignity together while going off with the Lord Beezlebub. Caim might have been a demon of self indulgence, but Ba’al was over-indulgence. He was the one that took everything a step too far. And Caim was damn sure Cordelia had no clue what she was really taking the arm of. It warmed his little birdie heart. Made him feel like singing in the rain actually. Tray was going to have to get extra doting for this one. He was also thinking Cordelia was just another typical human jumping to her own conclusions and gullible enough to believe her own eyes and not give Tray the benefit of the doubt that maybe he was acting that way due to manipulation. He was owned by a demon after all. But, it would be exactly this that would earn Tray far more. Caim always did treat his non-humans better than his human pets. From Caim’s eyes, right then, Cordelia was just another human fucking over someone, even as he fucked them all over. He felt more for all the creatures God tried to destroy in the flood, like casting them away, just like the demons in Hell. Those creatures really didn’t deserve protection from angels. The fact Tray wasn’t running to her though, this made Caim realize there was room to move in Tray’s head, room to mold him still. Tray had pride. He had pride but he was working with what he thought were facts. Cordelia took one look at Tray and worked on assumptions. Pride was something Caim could work with. Pride was the sort of thing that could become so strong it wouldn’t matter when facts were blurred and wouldn’t matter when truth was finally revealed, if anything ever slipped.
But, back with Cordelia and Ba’al she’d just taken his arm and he responded, “I can’t wait to see your storm. There’s nothing more refreshing than a good storm.” To Ba’al this was true. He was a God of the weather after all. Just her using the reference was a delight to him.
He encouraged her thoughts though noting her casual way of using a nickname to address him when she hardly knew him. He found her mannerisms amusing in their way. She seemed very entitled. A lady never loses it in public though? He was gaining even more insight on how her mind worked. “He didn’t even look back.” Ba’al noted of the snow cat looking over his shoulder as the other pair left their sight. “Typical male.” He noted, “Earth male.” He tacked on. As for her comment on what he had planned for them he actually snorted, “Depending on me already? How quaint.”
Then came her attempted compliment.
Did she really just push in his face that he was only second?
His feet stopped in their tracks. His expression cold and contemplated.
Then after quoting Zeus he used her hold on his arm to suddenly fling Cordelia down -HARD- damn close to burning hot boulders and stones outside the arena.
“STRIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIKE” He cheered himself on as her body mauled over a some dead and dried looking cat tails and weeds before she’d land.
“You can watch yourself learn to address me by my own name.”
The sudden ruckus was causing a loud spectacle in Hell and a few infernals ran up behind him encircling the pair.
Ba’al hiked his leg up on the boulder, his boot clomped a dust cloud from the dry soil he was tracking next to Cordelia’s shoved and fallen body and reached between his legs and ripped the fabric with one harsh pull showing female genitalia (as with most archdemons had many forms) and he started to piss down his leg soaking one side of the fabric as he played more on the deceased vampiress’s words. “I see no ladies here.” He wasn’t about to follow any sort of no losing it in public rules for ladies like Cordelia seemed so proud of. This was Hell and she’d just taken the arm of the most vile of demons. He was the God of Philistines after all. He was the God of the people in Israel, a name in modern times that now was used to refer to people who refused culture, a slang term for no rules, animalistic ways, no manners, etc...
Gluttony still considered himself the God of the Hedons. Pleasure seeking ingrates with the sac to cross all lines. At least that was the obscenity others saw. But, to him and his followers, they crossed nothing, because no lines existed.
The cackling of Hell’s demons behind him errupted in hideous laughter as he put his leg back down into place.
Did he care his leg had piss all over it? Nope. That was a human way of thinking. He was a nasty demon.
“GET UP!!!!” He growled down at her as if she was slowing him up. “Fucking clutz.” He muttered as he waited for her to rise up or react or anything.
It’s a Pet Show in Hell
“It was my era, my human era at least.” Cordelia had trailed off with a sigh thinking of what she couldn’t even call simpler times. The whole time in her life was nothing but death and sickness. She lost everyone in her family then even her intended to the crash and the aftermath. A smile touched her lips as Ba'al told her wanted to hear more about her later. Cordelia had no illusion that he wanted to do more then talk and it was simply the way of things down here. The vampires life was nothing but survival and staying out of the damnation.
As the pets came out in their forms Cordelia didn’t know a single face, nor did she expect to. Still lost in her own thoughts and wondering what Ba'al had in store for her later she wasn’t paying to much attention. Caim could drone on or whatever he was doing she just wanted him gone. Then she saw him…the one she longed to see more then anything. But was it him? Tray looked defeated and broken. Covering her mouth it hit her then and there. Tray was the snow leopard the one who wouldn’t perform. Had he? He couldn’t think…could he? “Oh no…” Cordelia whispered suddenly wishing she had resisted, fought, created a scene with her escort something other then what she did.
Everything seemed to be moving in slow motion until Ba'al stood and she with him. Tears burned her eyes as a sad smile crossed her lips. Slowly Cordelia brought her hand up to her chest wanting to hold it out for him, wishing he did the same. Tray’s words however was like 12 stakes to the heart one after the other. The look of love and sadness fell and melted into one of complete and utter heartbreak. What had they done to him…what happened in the time she was killed that had turned him so. I don’t think she ever existed… the words echoed in her mind as her jaw hung open and the tears never fell from her dark eyes. Everything sounded muffled, the scene was pale, Cordelia’s knees had gone weak but she held herself still. All she wanted to do was scream, yell, kick, punch do something horrible to someone.
To disappear…
((nw))
As Ba'al took off for Caim the vampire sunk into his seat. Stunned…if her face could have been any more pale she would have been a ghost. There was no love, no joy at seeing her, only hatred and ugly. Placing a hand over hear long dead heart Cordelia felt like it was a wide open gash full of salt. It burned so bad worse then any pain she had felt before. Was this true heartbreak? Had Tray taken her heart and turned it to dust? Watching Ba'al and Caim celebrate she hadn’t put two and two together. Lost, her mind was lost in the fog of the few moments and watching the one man she had yearned for denounce her like a common whore.
In that moment as Tray got dressed staring at the crowd those dark vampire eyes bore a deep dark hole into his skull. Love was for the weak…every time she had gone with her heart and chosen love Cordelia was left in the dust with a heart the needing mending. Shaking her head as the anger pulsed through the long since dead body Cordelia forced herself to stand.
No more…never again…
Cordelia vowed there in that moment she would have his heart. Oh yes she would have his heart ripped out of Tray’s chest pulsing in her hand, and he would watch as she crushed it turning it to dust like he had done to her. Any light, love, or goodness that Cordelia held onto through her vampiric years had melted away and she was left with hate, seething anger, and a lust for destruction. Raising her hands she simply clapped and put on a smile. “Congrats boys!” shouting just for show the vampire sneered as her eyes burned again.
Survive Cord…we must do whatever it takes to survive. Always be the last one standing even if you have to make a deal with the devil to do it…
Caim heard the congrats from Cordelia and even though she really pissed him off choosing Ba’al over him, enough so to order her death, he decided to play into it.
“Now that’s the Cordelia I know.”
It was partially true. She was part of the underbelly of society that ran around with Caim and liked Tray and his mobster family due to her own underbelly ways. But, mostly he played into because Tray was still watching. It only reinforced that they had a very close relationship just like he’d told Tray they did. “Good seeing you again. We’ll do lunch.”
“You two have fun now. I’m going to go celebrate with my pet. Giver her Hell Beeze.” He was saying his farewells to Ba’al and Cordelia so he could stand up and get his ribbon afer all this time and of course dote on Tray for the rest of the night. That’s how Caim was with his pets.
But the moment he put his arm around Tray to lead him out and got out of ear shot of Cordelia he spoke in Tray’s ear, “Don’t let her get to you. The fucking nerve of that bitch showing up here like that. Yeah we’ll do lunch, in about a million years. I can’t believe after all we did to help her she’s still hanging with ones that took her from you.” Instantly back into working Tray’s mind. He’d take him aside privately and apologize for her being there and how it all went down, even the poker. He’d find ways to explain it all.
But, Ba’al had his own questions for Cordelia.
“You seem awfully calm. Over your life already? Ready to start a real after life?” Then he put his elbow out for her to hold onto as if he was going to take the lead to somewhere.
It’s a Pet Show in Hell
The news had spread quickly about Caim taking over and becoming the devil so Ba'al’s words were hardly jarring. As he took advantage of her position on his lap it took every ounce of strength Cordelia had not to wiggle away or shoot him a dirty look. Bastin, her maker, had taught her many things while they were together and one of them was no matter what you do what is needed to survive. Ba'al surprised her when he didn’t quite cross the line but rather stayed within certain areas. Every time he teased her neck with his nose a involuntary shiver would go up her spin and her eyes would close. There was something about the gesture that broke through her desire to move away making room for it to be pleasurable. Cordelia also knew some demons had actual pets in fact during her time on earth she had met one of them. London was Caims and was often found throwing herself at him to make him happy. The vampire knew she would never do that to Ba'al or any other demon but deep down she wondered if that wouldn’t bore someone like him.
Trying to focus on the show before them Cordelia oohed and ahhed along with the demons and sometimes turned her attention the the owners wondering how they came upon owning these shifters. One animal in particular had caught her attention, one that seemed sad and unwillingly for his master. The humor of this poor creatures unwillingness to perform wasn’t lost on Cordelia seeing as the owner was Caim. Smirking as the creature kept refusing and embarrassing him she thought it must be so frustrating to finally have something tell him no. That was a word Caim almost never heard or those who spoke it didn’t live long afterwards. It nearly broke her heart again when he used a red hot poker on the creature. Closing her eyes and turning away from the scene Cordelia couldn’t stomach it. It was almost too close to the dream she had on her way to Sicily with Tray some time ago. The vampires eyes snapped open and her attention was brought back to the present when she felt the warmth of Ba'al’s breath on her ear.
Home with him? A slight panic rushed through her at those words. Clearly she had no choice, well she did but how stupid would she have to be to turn him down? As the calmness ran through her Cordelia smirked at his question. “Do I remember eating?” Ba'al obviously wasn’t talking about blood but real delicious food. Taking a moment to ponder the question Cordelia tried to remember the last time she actually ate or even what it was. “I do believe you are the first person to ever ask me that Ace. Food…I can’t honestly say I do. Now my first time sleeping in a wooden kimono clear as a bell. I can recall everything from my vampire life just like that.” With a snap of her fingers Cordelia laughed, a real laugh for the first time since she had arrived in Sicily. Maybe becoming Ba'al’s favorite arm candy wouldn’t be such a bad thing, but she knew these things always came with a price. Shifting in his lap she re-crossed her legs and sighed. “There is so much I don’t remember from my human days…well except how I got these.” Without meaning to Cordelia had hugged Ba'al in attempt to show him both scars on her wrist. The car accident was one of those memories that just didn’t fade. As her jaw pressed to his forehead Cordelia she felt sad again this time for herself and the family she had lost long ago. “Listen to me jabbering on, I’m probably boring you.”
The difference in Caim and Ba’al were quite simple. Caim liked a challenge. He liked to see what he could get people to do for him on their accord through manipulative ways. He often got caught up in his own games. But, if Ba’al wanted something, a pet per sae, he wouldd’t be waiting for anyone’s permission. That’s what choke collars and whips were for. Ba’al gave no one choice. At least he rarely gave them choices they would enjoy unless it was highly beneficial to him.
Gluttony was a lust of the mind indeed, over-self-indulgence.
As Cordelia smirked as she watched the resistant snow cat, Ba’al, he couldn’t help but find the irony humorous. For it was Ba’al who knew exactly what he had set up here.
He was reminded of a favorite quote just then:
“The flesh endures the storms of the present alone; the mind, those of the past and future as well as the present. Gluttony is a lust of the mind.”
— Thomas Hobbes
For Ba’al was musing how a broken heart was much like that. It affected the mind. It affected from the past, the ever present, and onward to the future once it was seeded. It was like a weed that kept sprouting if reminded. But, if enough salt was rubbed in it was like Miracle Grow. It could either beat you down or make you stronger.
There were 2 snow cats and Ba’al had seen the competition. Caim couldn’t go on board with any standard presentation to beat a larger more powerful beast. He needed a different angle.
He was giving him one.
Cordelia had played right into Ba’al’s loving hands. She didn’t recognize Tray. That much was chance alone. He had no clue if she would.
The lack of vacant seat? Perfectly planned and executed. She sat. She sat close, made no fuss about the closeness. She even seemed to be warming up to his touches.
Perfection.
What a close and cozy pair they made up front and center in front of that brooding snow cat who thought he’d never see this woman, his recently passed fiance, like a widower attempting to move on in his life. Then BOOM. Right when he thought maybe he could do it, just maybe, how about a pull on that heart string with the sight of his lost love? It was probably a welcome sight too? Until he’d notice who’s lap she sat and made such cozy home in. The very demon that tore his family apart? The one that wasn’t there to save them all when the massacre hit town? The one that claimed protection over his family like Caim always did when he suckered people into contracts. But, Ba’al would be nowhere. He didn’t give a damned soul in Hell about those vampires. He had far more fun niggling Caim’s magic black market runners than he cared about having any silly vampire coven. He liked creating mass suicides. Vampires were already dead. He was impressed by Damien’s massacre though.
Tray wasn’t refusing to perform for Caim. Tray was breaking down in front of a entire crowd of demons.
Cordelia had been sent a nightmare by the Boogie Man, but maybe it really was prophetic? Bits and pieces of it were coming true right before her eyes. She just didn’t know it yet.
But, she would.
Ba’al would actually hold her closer to him when she cringed her eyes closed at the hot poker. He would nurture her and try to give her that sense of security in his arms that everything was alright.
When that part passed and they went on to talk of coffins and he found her slang interesting. It said a lot about her that she used it in this day and age. He became quite the little escort actually. “I haven’t heard that since back when they’d call it a Chicago overcoat. The era left it’s impression on you.” He mused still petting how silky soft her pale skin was. “No. I’m not bored. I find it quite fascinating you kept them.” Death had a way of leaving the soul how it identifies itself. The incident still defined her even now after an entire vampiric undead lifetime. That was noted as essential to who she was and what she let affect her. Just this one gesture of sharing with him told a thousand stories and he took mental notes of every thought for it’s potential.

“I want you to tell me more about it, later, tonight. when we’re alone.”
The more conversation that was opening up between them only made them appear more and more cozy like they were very familiar with one another. This only enforced many of the lies Tray had been told along the way.
The animal portion of the show would complete itself and their human forms would be put on display. Often the demons would put their talents or earth life stories up for display too. Anything to make them more unique or special to end up with that prize. Many went for the reactions to pain. Sometimes it was showing off how much pain they could handle. Sometimes it was more comical to the demons as their lack of a pain threshold would create terrified reactions. But, the hot poker thing really wasn’t Caim’s style. He had just been desperate when Tray started to fall into his emotional abyss with lack of reaction at all. Caim had a bit of that planned for Tray too. He had a video-esque illusion to put up behind Tray as his the cat’s beautiful body would be demonstrated. He’d created the video from footage on security cameras and Tray talking to himself in Venice. But, it wouldn’t be a video in Hell. It would be a larger than life background illusion far more impressive than a jumbo-tron. It would also be a letter he never sent to his friend.
When Tray was walked out Caim would tell his story about who he was, where he came from, the Cammora clan would be mentioned as their violence was widely known in Hell. Then it was only all the more attentive with so many of it’s modern members there in the stands beat down by Hell. But, there stood Tray alive and under the devil’s thumb. He’d also announce that Tray had taken over heading the clan since the massacre. Santino’s face nearly shit bricks right out his eyeballs. After how outcasted he’d made his son even after he’d welcomed him back home. It was clear on the man’s face how shocked he was. Caim would also announce the clan’s still superior dominance after only one vampire hand was involved still He did not tell the story of Nicolo killing Cordelia. He did proudly mention his grandson’s part in massacring Ba’al’s coven. But, this only brought up the emotions in Tray that showed what he’d thrived in and lived through and carried on with burdening him. Caim was painting the picture of a very strong soul instead of strong body like the others seemed to be doing. He was winning the crowd with it too. Not to mention the mentioning of his many artistic talents. The tale became quite the big fish. They seemed to be on the edge of their seats. But, it was all true. He embellished nothing.
But, when he opened the cage and released him from the leash to form into his human body that video-illusion would play:

There was a question and answer phase too. Ba’al stood with Cordelia at side. “Is this not the cat’s lost woman?”
Tray would interrupt, naked as the day he was born, looking up through emo bangs shielding his face like the bohemian brooding wall flower he appeared to be after such a tall tale of bravery. The image hardly went with the story. But, he wouldn’t let Caim answer that one. “I wouldn’t know. It looks like her. But, I don’t think she ever existed.” The lies he was fed narrowed a spite in his voice so constricted. They had been weaved with just the right amount of truth to twist the tail whole heartedly believable.
The judges were taking major notes, Belial scribbling down the most. If one didn’t think Belial didn’t know the real fates of all his vampiric kind they’d be mistaken. He wouldn’t stand up to correct the story. That wasn’t his goal here. His goal was to judge the unique and specialness of the pets on display. He was Hell’s litigant and he would be doing a damn lot of judging now too. The Unholy Trinity had issues. They were broken brothers but united again by Caim’s shoving ass into Satan’s seat and times were changing. But, working this closely together now he was seeing more. This was a judge that knew more than the crowd and Ba’al knew it. He set it up like that. He knew the demons would see the missing pieces even if the puzzle couldn’t be figured out and that would always impress the deceptive species. It seemed the new devil was earning marks in his reputation in ways he hadn’t quite expected or realized he was yet.
But, it was at the crowd’s reaction smirks and chuckles Caim finally realized what Ba’al had done for him. He’d been so angry. He lost marks in the first round. But, he had such high marks in the second it was bound to make up for it. It was during the applause after Tray’s words dismissing the vampiress in the stands with such the heavy heart on his sleeves, the agony of his dismissal plain, but the numbness also apparent. The brooding sadness in the undertone of the whole presentation fed those who hungered on misery.
As scores went up one by one, artistry, and all the like, Caim’s start value ended up the highest. By that alone he wagged a finger at Ba’al. That genius mother fucker.
He was trying to help all along. A standing ovation was being spat and screamed and cheered as he waited for all the results.
But, when Caim’s high score went up pushing him into 1st Ba’al went running for him.
Caim had been trying to win this thing for years, another reason he was so particular and obsessive about his pets. But, he never quite made it to the running. At this point he didn’t even mind Ba’al’s insect breath he was so stoked.
Tray would be standing there, shoving his pants on, his shirt on, no shoes looking up at the crowd like they were all nobodies to him and that cocky attitude was only gaining more reputation in the demeanor of Caim’s pet. There wasn’t a thing he did, a glance he gave that didn’t help Caim in every way. Kasha would be watching.
But, with all that having gone on and Cordelia left behind Ba’al by herself while the two parts of the trinity celebrated, how would the deceased vampiress be reacting? How would she be reacting through the entire display?
