Guilds and PvP.
So, today something extremely unnerving happened in my guild. Basically, the two GMs are brothers, and they have a younger brother who is also in the guild. As you might imagine, this would cause some problems - and it has. Today in guild-chat, a guild-mate of mine wasn't so happy with the "Anal spam" that was going on, so he voiced his opinions of it, he might have been a bit hasty but I agreed with him fully. I don't necessarily want to see "Anal [Achievement]" or "Anal [Item]" in guild-chat either, especially as I see it enough in /Trade. One of the members participating in this crude outburst of spam was one of the GMs little brothers.
One of the GMs wasn't so happy with the way my guild-mate dealt with the situation, and felt as if the vocalisation of his disagreement was directly aimed at his brother. This wasn't the case. The GM then removed the raiding rights of my guild-mate, who happened to be charting top three on every encounter in damage done and DPS, and said he would be replaced with his brother. I was whispered by my friend who had told me what he had been whispered and I felt mildly outraged. The GM then kicked him out of the guild, and with this his IRL friend - our main tank - followed, and quit.
What's my problem with this? Well, in order to achieve progress it is essential that we have a core group of dedicated raiders wanting and striving for the same goal - Ragnoras dead. If the GM is going to start replacing our DPS with family members, for sake of making his brother happy and risking our progression rate, what use is there being a guild in the first place? Surely the three brothers should have outlined this from the start. I am unsure as to what to do, for the two that have left (or been kicked) were excellent players and I really enjoyed playing with them, I am undecided as to follow them and begin raiding with them or to continue and possibly jeopardise my raid spot if I say something the GMs don't like, regarding anything to do with their brothers. It left me weary.
So what did I do? I activated my PvP spec and started doing some Battlegrounds, and I thoroughly enjoyed doing them. I have done Twin Peaks about 7 or 8 times as well as some Random BGs for a mix-up. I had a really fun time, apart from one situation in Twin Peaks.
We were 2 flag-caps down and both Horde and Alliance had each other's flags. I was attacking the EFC in their flag room. Much to my disappointment, the EFC himself was a healer, and was turtling with a further two healers. I can handle healers, of the same gear level, in a 1v1 situation - it is when there are three and I am grouped with idiots that can't decide which to CC and which to pressure where I got frustrated. I kept my cool and refrained from saying anything in /BG. We lost, eventually, though the Discipline Priest was out of mana and both Paladins were out of cooldowns, had we had a stronger defense in our flag room, we might have won - but we didn't.

I am now leveling a priest.

This is my new blog, deviating from my main blog, which will solely be focused on my World of Warcraft activities and a little place for me to rant and rave about all things WoW.
So, who am I? What do I play? Am I far progressed? Am I a PvPtard? Firstly my name is Ben and I am an 18 year-old Britfag currently living in Lincoln, before I depart to Manchester for University. I am currently playing my level 85 Undead Rogue, Glycera. I haven't played a Rogue before Cataclysm, not properly. I began leveling my Rogue during my dry-spell of raiding towards the end of Wrath. Throughout Wrath and Burning Crusade I played my Paladin, Trundian. Whilst I might regret not continuing this 4 year-old character, it's certainly nice to take up a new role, a new class and a new race (no more camp-elf).
I am not at all progressed in any Firelands content, hell today was the first time I killed Nefarian & Onyxia as well as Al'akir. As fun as it was kiting the adds in the Neffy fight, I can't help but feel that the entirety of the Cataclysm encounters, on normal, are rather dry - especially having attempted pre-nerf M'uru on a different character.
I am not a PvPtard, yet. I am trying to help my guild progress into Firelands before I start PvPing, as such all my focus is on farming Zandalar'i heroics and not battlegrounds.
This is all I have to say, to start with. I might update tomorrow with whatever. We'll see where this goes.
