Anyways, Glykera is an automaton from ancient Greece. Idk which period, probably closer to when they made more of those statues. She was made to resemble the beauty standard for women at that time period.

Since Hephaestus creates a lot of things, she ended up getting lost and ended up in the hands of her old master.

He would have her assist him with things and stuff, the whole schist. He wasn't the nicest man in Greece, but he wasn't the worst. When he first got her, he ended up reprogramming her so that she wouldn't feel or express her emotions as much. Then he reprogrammed her so that she couldn't really object to her order. Those reprogrammings did take a couple of tries, however.

The time between when she was forged and when she got into the hands of her old master was brief but pleasant for her. She looks back fondly at a time before her mind was meddled with, and before all of that stuff happened to her. She remembered being happy to be alive or as close as she could get to those two things.

He also slammed a hammer or something else heavy onto her hand to see if it would hurt. It did, but since her metal is pretty sturdy, she didn't get dented.

Her old master would have guests over all the time and she would serve them drinks or just stand there looking pretty while she waited for orders.

These drunken guests would occasionally get a bit too comfortable with her, and since she couldn't really do anything, they just continued. You know how those bronze statues of women sometimes have lighter spots on their breasts because people decide to just touch them? Kinda like that but her metal didn't get much lighter. She physically could not say no or move or express her discomfort because of the reprogrammings.

One time, for whatever reason, one of the guests ended up jumping her, almost beating her to robot-death or at least almost leaving her with pretty bad damage.

As a result, she hates being touched. She hates it when people talk about giving her or other automatons upgrades or reprogramming. She hates being called an it as well.

After days when her old master had guests over, he would erase her memory of what had happened if he knew one of the guests had assaulted her, but he wasn't always successful. He often tried to get them to just leave her alone, but he wasn't the most firm about it and they continued.

At some point she was basically powered off and didn't wake up for a few thousand years.

Edit: she didn't really turn off she just sat there for thousands of years waiting and collecting dust. Think Spinel from Steven Universe kinda

After Leo found her and did general repairs, he managed to undo the reprogrammings that stopped her from feeling her emotions as strong, expressing them, and he undid the one(s) that prevented her from protesting against orders and stuff like that.

He also accidentally brought back the memories that had been erased from her.

So for the next few days, the overwhelm of memories and suddenly much louder feelings left her in a pretty bad state for somr days. She would jump at every sound, curse herself for being unable to serve and just being in a heap, and sometimes she would have pretty bad panic attacks.

Since Leo was only really able to help her so much, he went to the Psyche cabin, and now Melissa is her unofficial therapist.

She has since gotten better, but she is still pretty sensitive to sound, touch, and people being upset in general. She always tried to appease them and make them feel better, just to avoid potential consequences. Only a few people are allowed to touch her, and even then, she's still not too big on it. She stays in Bunker 9 whenever they have fireworks displays, trying to avoid the noise, which is pretty effective.

Nowadays, she spends most of her time in Bunker 9, although occasionally, she will stroll around camp.

She also pretty tall. Either like 6'5 or closer to 7 feet tall

She's not as good as the Kourai Khyseai (Golden Maidens), who were also created by Hephaestus, and her facial expressions are limited and kinda uncanny

Her face made it seem like she couldn't be much older than 30, but her garb was all old. Like something out of a museum with all the ancient Greek statues. She slowly pulled herself up, standing about a foot taller than him and rubbing off her arms. What was that thing from before? "I apologize," she spoke monotonously.

"Why? I am well aware of the anons, that's not your fault." He looks over her attire. It was not that of current mortals. He wonders if she is old like him. "I like your robes. Where did you get them?"

She paused, ultimately deciding to accept what he said. "They were woven for me to replace the old ones at this 'Camp Half-Blood'. The old ones were far too worn to keep."

"Ah, a demigod, then?" Edan asks, tilting his head. His fingers curl together behind his back. Stupid urge to defy. This must be why Pandora opened that stupid box.

She nodded, looking down at her chiton. "I believe some of the demigods made it. It would have been one of the children in the Athena cabin. It is almost exactly like my old attire."

"Beautiful. It doesn't look forged at all. Like you stole it straight off the back of Aristotle." Not that Aristotle would've worn a chiton like that. It would've surely had more fabric.

She gave her best attempt at a smile, which, while better than it was before, was still a bit off. "Thank you. I will deliver your compliments once I am able to return."

Her eyes widened, and she took a step back. She had no heart to freeze up with terror, but she could feel her metal joints becoming stiff. What was it Melissa taught her to do? She couldn't take deep breaths with no lungs of her own.

Edan stepped back again, not wanting to make her uncomfortable. This didn't seem like normal rejection, it seemed like fear. So he moved his hands to be down by his sides so she could see them.

"I know a few people who go to that camp. I don't think any of them are Athena's, though."

She hesitated. He backed off. That was good. She would be fine. "I would not have expected Athena to have children. Though, I suppose if any goddess were to find a way and stay chaste, it would be her. They are all brilliant children. Geniuses."

"The gods work in mysterious ways." He shook his head. But if he remembered right, Athena was raped at some point or another. By Poseidon, in a temple dedicated to Poseidon, maybe? She knealt down to pick up the broom she dropped on the ground, glancing behind her in case another weird gray thing decided to approach her. She would very much prefer to be left alone, thank you very much. "Do you perhaps know how I would get back?"

He offered his arm in a gentlemanly manner rather than grabbing her. Wow, Edan, when did you learn manners? Well, spending so much time in royal courts does teach you a thing or two. Even if you are a slave within them.

She gripped the broom tighter in her hands. "How far away is it from here?"

"Several states." He almost forgets to add, "I can teleport. You might get a little motion sick though."

"I do not have an inner ear. I do not think I can get motion sick." She slowly rested her hand on his arm, like she assumed he wanted her to do. People were weird.

Her eyes widened, and she took a step back. She had no heart to freeze up with terror, but she could feel her metal joints becoming stiff. What was it Melissa taught her to do? She couldn't take deep breaths with no lungs of her own.

Edan stepped back again, not wanting to make her uncomfortable. This didn't seem like normal rejection, it seemed like fear. So he moved his hands to be down by his sides so she could see them.

"I know a few people who go to that camp. I don't think any of them are Athena's, though."

She hesitated. He backed off. That was good. She would be fine. "I would not have expected Athena to have children. Though, I suppose if any goddess were to find a way and stay chaste, it would be her. They are all brilliant children. Geniuses."

The broom she was carrying clattered to the ground when she fell. When her body hit the floor, it sounded like the clang of metal. Her face made it seem like she couldn't be much older than 30, but her garb was all old. Like something out of a museum with all the ancient Greek statues. She slowly pulled herself up, standing about a foot taller than him and rubbing off her arms. What was that thing from before? "I apologize," she spoke monotonously.

"Why? I am well aware of the anons, that's not your fault." He looks over her attire. It was not that of current mortals. He wonders if she is old like him. "I like your robes. Where did you get them?"

She paused, ultimately deciding to accept what he said. "They were woven for me to replace the old ones at this 'Camp Half-Blood'. The old ones were far too worn to keep."

"Ah, a demigod, then?" Edan asks, tilting his head. His fingers curl together behind his back. Stupid urge to defy. This must be why Pandora opened that stupid box.

She nodded, looking down at her chiton. "I believe some of the demigods made it. It would have been one of the children in the Athena cabin. It is almost exactly like my old attire."

"Beautiful. It doesn't look forged at all. Like you stole it straight off the back of Aristotle." Not that Aristotle would've worn a chiton like that. It would've surely had more fabric.

She gave her best attempt at a smile, which, while better than it was before, was still a bit off. "Thank you. I will deliver your compliments once I am able to return."

"This is Camp Half-Blood. I was told that you needed to be shown around." She explained simply.

She doesn't know this place, why should she be here? She wants to be with Wysp or someone else that she knows, not this stranger

"This is where deemigods live. It is safe from monsters and mortals. They said you needed somewhere to stay."

Her ears lower and her tail wraps around her waist. She did leave the house, didn't she? But she was planning on staying with Wysp, so she didn't really think about needing somewhere to stay...

She rests her head on the blanket, careful to not move too much and disturb the sleeping ferrets

She hesitated for a long moment before taking Violet's hand, not something she would have done a year ago. She had to bend her knees slightly due to her height. "This way."

Luckily, she was already by the Hephaistos cabin, not the woods where Bunker 9 was, so it hardly took a few minutes to get to the Hermes cabin. Most of the kids were out doing daily activities, and thankfully, it was the winter, so there were fewer kids. "There should be a free bunk this time of year. When the spring becomes summer, however, many have to sleep on the floor."

She climbs up onto a top bunk, placing the ferrets next to her and curling up under her blanket
