[Spoilers] story line alignment

Hey y'all!

I unfortunately read the books before the series came out and couldn't stand watching it. Now I have forgotten a lot of the little details of the books and the series is very enjoyable.

Im a little confused. I am half way through season 5 and a lot of characters are nearing tje end of their story arcs. Jhon is already lord of the Nights watch... I remember the last chapter he is seen from and how it ends. Seems like it isn't 2 seasons away. Arya has some development to go. I don't remember Sansa's story progressing quite so far but she was a boring character used to see Littlefinger without seeing his perspective. Tyrion has a little further to go..

Okay you get the idea.

Is there really so much diversion from the origional story so soon? Arn't there more than enough storylines to not hyperfocus on Jhon and push his storyline way ahead of the others? I guess he was really popular to the audience as the series progressed.

[SPOILERS] A question about Jon’s lineage

A friend of mine is watching the series for the first time and was giving me some thoughts on who Jon’s father was. She thought he might be a Targaryan but dismissed it because he didn’t have the platinum hair. I hadn’t really thought about this, but it does seem like they made a big point about Targaryans having platinum hair just like the Lannisters and their gold hair.

Is it as simple as the stark genes are overriding the platinum? Just like the Baratheon black hair?

Just off the top of my head I'm thinking Oberyn due having eyes gouged out and his head exploding but maybe it's the "friend in the North" who Ramsay skinned for trying to help Sansa

[SPOILERS] What season was your favourite?

Okay now I'm not talkin about what season you think is the BEST, I'm asking which is your favourite. This can be anything from the feel, the vibe etc so it doesn't have to be whether the story was the best in any of those seasons. Its literally whatever you feel is YOUR favourite. Mine is Season 7, just because i like the overall aesthetic and character moments. The soundtrack (as always) is stellar and there are so many great set pieces.

Id probably have to say my least favourite is Season 5

[SPOILERS] watched season 3 episode 9…. what the hell ??

i’m literally in shock. First time watching this show and i’m so flabbergasted??

It was a happy jolly good time at the wedding right? and then suddenly Talisa is getting stabbed??? and Catelyn (one of my favs of the whole show) is shot and Robb dies like what happened 😭

i don’t know when i last cried over a tv show but saying goodbye to Catelyn sucks. i loved her so much. such a good and consistent character.

literally have to take a break from this show after that. heartbroken for her that she had to see her own son killed and then die so violently.
