He's clearly scizofrenic and people were really mean to him. I have a complicated relationship to bouts of religious delusion spurred on by mental illness, but I can't help but feel like people were laughing at him not with him.

It’s fucking surreal seeing people excited about The Phantom Menace getting a 25th anniversary re release.

Like I’m glad people are having fun with it but do people who weren’t around when it came out realize how visceral the reaction among Star Wars fans was? Fans hated midichlorians, Jar Jar, Young Anakin, and all the fan service cameos. It was a DESPISED movie.

As I write this very post, Jake Loyd is undergoing an 18th month treatment at a mental hospital in part due to the constant harassment he received for his performance as Anakin.

Like does the star wars fandom realize as they celebrate this movie they are also why one of its stars isnt able to take part in any press tours for the anniversary ?
