the new york islanders hockey club are like: we don't really have any stars. our hockey is gritty and ugly and frustrating to watch. our power play sucks so bad. but sometimes there's a magic about us that's hard to pin down. we are a team built on love and friendship and family and the power that comes with being the only team in the nhl who aren't allowed to grow beards. we scraped into the playoffs by the skin of our teeth after everybody counted us out but we fought!! because we always fight!! and sometimes we get unlucky but sometimes it's beautiful! four goals in two minutes!
