i think because of the whole "writers write for themselves" notion that's becoming increasingly popularized, people forget that we still thrive off interaction and kindness. i write for myself but kudos and comments and bookmarks and really any sort of interaction with my fics genuinely motivates me to keep writing and keep sharing my works.
I write for myself.

Hey so, I have some news that should be incredibly surprising, but because it's me, it's kind of just expected? I've had a wild couple of days and the next chapter of crawl spaces might be delayed. Again.
I'm sorry.
My kitchen sink exploded. Like. Seriously. My kitchen sink exploded. The emergency shut off valve just... boom. Exploded off the pipe it was previously attached to, shooting huge geysers of water into my house. Had to turn off the water to my entire apartment building for two days so my neighbors are a big fan of me right now 🙃
I have no idea how this happens, i have no idea why this happened, I just know that it did and I'm so incredibly tired and overwhelmed and of course it happens THE SAME DAY AS MY BOYFRIEND'S SURGERY!! I want even in the kitchen! Just suddenly heard a nose and thought, "uh oh. That doesn't sound like a good thing." And alas, I was right.
Thankfully, everything is finally, finally fixed. It was wild the plumber had to cut the pipe and like weld on a new pipe and at one point he was putting bread in there and... I don't know man, it was a lot. But it's fixed now!
Anyways, I have a lot of.... house drying to do and I'm very very tired so the chapter may be delayed.
Funny thing, I had to call out of work one day during this whole debacle. And I apparently do that so infrequently, when I called my boss to tell him he immediately started panicking over the phone like, "what's wrong? Are you in the hospital? Are you okay?? Do you need me to take you to the hospital??? Where are you?! I'll close the close, I'm on my way! Do you need money, how much money should I bring???" And like, incredibly sweet, but I may be a workaholic.
Just... not my week man. Not my week.

I have a horrible and completely justified fear of monkeys. I once told a friend who does not apparently share my level of common sense, while we were watching some nature documentary or another. She somehow finds the demoncreatures cute. Which of course led to a very long winged "she came down in a bubble dog" type argument that only stopped when the now forgotten TV very loudly announced, "coming up next, the story of a troupe of monkeys who kidnapped and ate several children."

A couple of others a friend of mine came across last week.
"Your problems [that the US government caused] are the least of our worries" really encapsulates the sort of baseline unexamined nationalism that is agonizingly common in the US.
Worth pointing out that what the USA tried to do to Canada is (a fraction of) the same thing they've been doing to so many global south countries for over a century, it's just that Canada happens to have enough leverage over the USA's infrastructure to be able to fight back.
As am American who voted against all of this, let me make this as clear as I can:
