God & His Ember

I, the ember, offspring of a mighty spiritual force, do not settle for the comfort of the physical beauty, I shoot for the star: the intense heat of passion that explodes in the universe to achieve the eternal casket for my charcoaled yet contented soul. I, the ember, mirage of the ever burning afflatus, do not take delight on the pleasure of the earthly sights, I suffer for the vision: the alignment to the Holy Creed and to the agony of the Sacred Son to attain the highest affinity for my consumed yet celebrated life. The battle is already won! The concluding purpose is the claim to never take for granted the victory of the ultimate source of fire… after all, I, the ember, is His daughter.

The Spirit says: Give that money to someone in need. The Flesh says: Spend that money on yourself.

The Spirit says: Spend some time in the Word and prayer. The Flesh says: You’ve had a long day, chill out in front of the TV for the evening.

The Spirit says: Hold your tongue. What you are about to say is not kind or necessary. The Flesh says: Tell it like it is.

Everytime we choose to give in to the flesh, rather than yielding to the Spirit of God, we allow sin to gain mastery over us. On the other hand, everytime we say yes to the Spirit, we give Him greater control of our lives.
