Mother: Almina (deceased, Almina was a wielder of magic and part of the same coven as Queen Frigga. She taught Sigyn parts of her abilities.)

Headcanons (so far) ↡

» Her mother, Almina, was a member of the same witch coven as Frigga, leading up to them becoming close friends during their youth.

» Sigyn is a vegetarian. She will eat absolutely no fish and meat.

» Although Sigyn despises violence she would kill for the ones she loves.

» Sigyn has magic abilities. She specialised in healing and the art of potion making, dreaming to become a healer and help others with her seidr.

» Sigyn is the daughter of King Iwaldi and Queen Almina and therefore a princess of Vanaheim. She has an older brother called Arvid who is likely to be heir of Vanaheim's throne.

» She has a mark on her left arm which looks like a tattoo of a rune that glows when you touch it.

It's the result of a spell and was cast on her to mark her as part of Vanaheim's royal family. If she's in need to identify herself Sigyn can prove her royal ancestry with it.

A few months ago, I went to a comic con in Holland and had the chance to meet a wonderful artist, Claudia Van Bakel (@artisticfaun on Instagram and Twitter) who happened to also be a huge Norse mythology AND Sigyn fan <3 Therefore, I commissioned her a portrait of Sigyn, and here's the AMAZING result!!! <3

I completely forgot about this little doodle that I made some time ago!!! But anyway-

Here it is!

They decided to visit Midgard as if it was the most casual thing for everyone around

Loki and Sigyn had always been great friends. Having met as children, a deep connection between them formed quickly. Their mothers welcomed their friendship, both of them glad their children had someone who understood them. Not many were blessed with the ability to use magic and children could be mean at times, making fun of things they didn't understand.

It was their passion for reading and painting that brought them together such as their shared intrest in the supernatural. Unlike most Sigyn wasn't frightened of Loki's seidr, she adored him for it. His shape-shifting was something that fascinated her. For her his mischief consisted of funny tricks. And although Sigyn found it a little brutal to turn into a snake and stab your own brother, she also saw the fun in it. She had found herself a true friend in Loki.

The years passed and she kept visiting Asgard on the regularly. Spending most of her time there with Loki. And as soon as she had left to Vanaheim again she couldn't help herself but miss the youngest Prince. Often she would return soon after with a new book to share with her friend or to show him a new learned magic trick. She would without a doubt find another reason for a visit and luckily the God of Mischief didn't seem to mind that. She always made an excuse to see him, even if it was only for a bit of time.

Their time together shortened with her mother becoming sick. Almina's sickness resulted in her being bound to the bed and Sigyn refusing to leave her side. She would help her mother with whatever she could, her passion to become a healer growing stronger than ever. Her knowledge improved while her mother sadly moved on to Valhalla. It was for the better, she told herself. At least she had found her peace but Sigyn was left heartbroken, her brother Arvid and her friend Loki remaining her greatest support.

She found distraction in her studies, never forgetting about her goal, her dream of using her seidr for the good. Her art of potion making had improved as well and she was on the path of becoming a great healer.

Studying together instead of alone was more of an pleasure. Therefore Sigyn had once again grabbed two copies of the same book, heading to Asgard to show it to Loki. Hoping they could read it together and share their thoughts afterwards.
