pronoun tips

- when you get someone’s pronouns right, don’t pat yourself on the back. 

- when you get them wrong, don’t give a list of excuses. just say sorry, correct yourself, and move on! trust me, handling it this way is better for everyone.

- if someone gets your family member/friend’s pronouns wrong, only correct them if it’s a safe environment.

- people get frustrated when they are constantly misgendered. don’t blame trans people for being upset about this, especially if you’re the one who misgendered them.

- correcting people when they misgender you can be tiring. just because someone doesn’t correct you, doesn’t mean you’re right or that they don’t mind.

- people introduce their pronouns in different ways. sometimes it’s direct, like saying your name and pronouns. other times it’s through conversation, implying, or correcting. if you aren’t sure, ask when possible!

- nobody cares if the person was being mean to you. that doesn’t mean you can misgender them. use peoples pronouns.

OMG, I’m back!

Hello, I am finally back from my ridiculous hiatus that was in no way planned. I am so very very sorry for that. My mom finally agreed to take me to South Padre to allow me to get closer connections to my mermaid-kin self but so much more happened. Firstly that there was no wifi.

I was meditating almost every day and almost every part of me feels stronger. The waters were beautiful, the sky was a sight to behold and I even found this cute little crystal shaped like a sea turtle in a creepy gift shop that gave me all kinds of angel-kin feels out the wazoo. Oh, my dear mother sun. It was a feelings jam for everyone all at once. I got in touch with parts of me that I never even considered.

My human mother actually took me out in the middle of the night, down to the beach and told me to “do whatever feels right”. I was howling, roaring, and singing; rolling around in the sand, splashing the shallow parts of the water -she did warn me not to go too deep for my safety- and taking in the beauty of it all. It was like an extreme shift party inviting everything that had ever set foot on a beach remotely similar. I even got a small and fleeting memory of walking through the desert with my Cecil.

She just watched me, observing and after I was too worn out to move I just laid flat on my back and stared up at the infinite expanse that was the sky. She came over to sit next to me and we sat there quietly for what felt like hours. Finally, she whispered: “One day at a time.” It felt like a real stride in her accepting my kinship. I feel like this is one of the best things that’s ever happened. 

Next, I would just like to mention that HOPY SHIT I HAVE LIKE 14 PEEPS WHO LIKE MY BLOG!

Wow, hiatus’s are when people actually look at me, interesting. I know that isn’t a lot to some people but it means a hell of a lot to me. Thank you guys, you fourteen, beautiful people. Have a wonderful night and enjoy this adorable bunny.
