SHORT STORIES, my favorite kind of poetry ( meme ).
SIX WORDS .
❝ i heard you were doing good. ❞ ❝ you don’t grow your horns overnight. ❞ ❝ i promise, it gets better eventually. ❞ ❝ & we never talked after that. ❞ ❝ am i really, truly, that unlovable? ❞ ❝ don’t talk like you’re coming back. ❞ ❝ my most dangerous habit is trusting. ❞ ❝ we’re made of stars & stories. ❞ ❝ you didn’t have to do that. ❞ ❝ everything is poetry when you’re drunk. ❞ ❝ did i mean anything to you? ❞ ❝ real feelings don’t just go away. ❞ ❝ you came & changed the weather. ❞ ❝ when can you just be mine? ❞ ❝ there was no love, only lust. ❞ ❝ darling, stop wishing on dead stars. ❞ ❝ art is another form of screaming. ❞ ❝ silence is the most painful goodbye. ❞ ❝ what the fuck did you do? ❞ ❝ i’m drunk, dizzy & missing you. ❞ ❝ kiss me like you’re losing me. ❞ ❝ i don’t feel like smiling today. ❞ ❝ not all good people are innocent. ❞ ❝ we’re a disaster in the making. ❞ ❝ some things are better left unsaid. ❞ ❝ we really should’ve talked about it. ❞ ❝ i’m so glad i met you. ❞ ❝ i wish i knew you earlier. ❞ ❝ i fucked (pronoun/name) to our song. ❞ ❝ i dreamed of you this night. ❞
TEN WORDS .
❝ you saw the messed up parts of me, & stayed. ❞ ❝ all i’ve ever wanted was for someone to save me. ❞ ❝ since you left, i have no one to talk to. ❞ ❝ i apologize for the nights in which i cannot breathe. ❞ ❝ everytime i look at you, i want to kiss you. ❞ ❝ we said no strings attached but now we’re in knots. ❞ ❝ there’s a difference between missing someone & missing having someone. ❞ ❝ for which f are you drinking? fuck, forget, or fun? ❞ ❝ my biggest mistake was thinking i could live without (pronoun/name). ❞ ❝ whenever (name/pronoun) rose to kiss me, i fell even more. ❞ ❝ i wish that ‘goodnight’ was followed by ‘i love you’. ❞ ❝ let’s smoke a pack of mentholds & talk about love. ❞ ❝ your deep, sleepy voice makes me feel like i’m okay. ❞ ❝ i read both of our horoscopes looking for an answer ❞ ❝ reality is the absolute last place i want to be. ❞ ❝ i didn’t expect that drunk kiss could mean this much. ❞ ❝ all i need is a late night drive with you. ❞ ❝ feeling pain is nowhere near as terrifying as feeling nothing. ❞ ❝ your eyes are the color of summer fading into autumn. ❞ ❝ you are the warmest home i will ever, ever find. ❞ ❝ the world is less scary when i am with you. ❞ ❝ i still can’t tell which of us was the victim. ❞ ❝ i just need an excuse to hang out with you. ❞ ❝ your expectations for me have been set way too high. ❞ ❝ i don’t want to feel this way about anyone else. ❞

❛While you may be my servant I don’t think of you that way. As a matter of facts I think of you as an irreplaceable comrade. I mean– I too want to protect you.❜
“And I sure as hell am not going to call you ‘Master’.” He said softly, though it lacked any kind of annoyance or anger toward the girl. “I’m stronger than you right now. Throw yourself in front of me and I just might kick your ass, Alisa. I understand but I’m built sturdier while I’m a ‘servant’.”
fenreater:
❛Regardless if there’s electricity or not it doesn’t change the fact that we still don’t have any idea of where we are. If you don’t want to you can just stay here.❜
“Don’t be stupid. This whole ‘Master-Servant’ thing means I have to keep you safe. I’m not gonna risk one of the idiots out there attacking you and me not being around to stop ‘em. I know you can handle yourself but I’m a lot stronger like this.”
“...If you’re going to drag me somewhere I don’t wanna be...you could at least make sure that there’s electricity.”
Midnight had struck and a bell rung as citizens from all sectors made their way towards the ballroom. Bright lights encased in small jars were scattered across the entire area serving as the only source of illumination. Its radiant glow leaving all who saw it captivated by the awe inspiring beauty. Though, that could also be said about the tables for they were decorated with only the finest flora and littered with dishes fit for an emperor. It truly was a sight to behold.
Alisa, on the other hand was ever eternally grateful that she was able to witness everything with a precious comrade. In this case Soma. Though, him being here was the product of her own persistence and selfishness due to the fact that she didn’t really want to go alone to a ball filled with nothing but strangers. Truth be told she only really knew Soma and he was the only one that came to mind since Kota and Yuu weren’t here or anyone for that matter but he.. he was here..
❛ I.. Thank you for coming here with me, Soma.. ❜ Those words were genuine however, despite being glad that he agreed to come with her, she couldn’t help but be overtaken with the feeling of guilt. She had forced him to come with her and that was uncalled for. It was selfish and stupid at the very least pathetic of her for doing such a thing. Why didn’t she just leave him alone and let him do things that make him happy? Why didn’t she… Why didn’t she…
Regret was soon evident ‘pon her visage and it didn’t take long for her to turn around and hide it. She was horrible at masking her own emotions and honestly this was the only thing she could think of doing. ❛ You don’t have to stay here.. You can just go home and forget I ever asked you of coming here with me. ❜ Words woven did not drip of venom but they were spoken with a tone full of seriousness. Though she regretted ever speaking them she meant them.

To him, things like this were stupid.
He didn’t like them and he’d have avoided the whole thing altogether. But Alisa had wanted him to come. Had insisted that he go with her. So he endured. For her. His eyes flitted dully across the crowd and briefly at the people who were dancing. Soma didn’t want to dance. Mostly because he didn’t know how. But he assumed that’s what she had wanted to come for. To dance. So he was trying to take in ‘lessons’ by watching the people on the dance floor.
Though the place where it was being held was outdoors, there was still a very clear spot meant for dancing. He glanced at her when she spoke, shrugging his shoulders lightly. “It’s no problem. I wouldn’t have wanted you to have to come here by yourself.” He said simply, arms slowly moving to cross over his chest. He felt uncomfortable in this suit but he didn’t really show it. Making a show of distanced interest more than anything.
Things like this were stupid, but she wasn’t. And she wanted him to come. He hadn’t come out of some feeling of guilt or obligation. He hadn’t come because she had simply asked him if he wanted to. He would have said no otherwise. He came because she had wanted him to.
“Cut it out. I came because I wanted to be here with you. I’m not leaving. So we may as well...” He trailed off, scowling a bit at the words that threatened to come from his mouth. “...Have fun.” Normally, he might have taken her offer but the others weren’t around. It was just him and her. Slowly, he gave the girl a light nudge with his elbow and let out a sigh. “We don’t get to do things like this back home... so you’d better enjoy it while it lasts. I doubt you’re gonna get me into another suit like this either.”
It was a begrudging effort on the part of Alisa but she somehow managed to get him into the outfit. And he didn’t look half bad. Despite the fact that he couldn’t help but wear a brooding kind of frown. When he walked in alongside the girl, he was turning a few heads.
Not that he gave a damn. He came for her.
And she was caught in a daze, unable to believe that Soma had arrived and to save her life at that but…. He was here wasn’t he? It was strange, it was only just a few minutes that they haven’t seen each other but it felt like an eternity.. Perhaps time went by faster in this place rather than the world she originally arrived from. Nonetheless, she was relieved, yet glad that they were given the opportunity to fight alongside each other once more, just like old times.
❛ Half an hour? ❜ So, time really did went by quickly here though now wasn’t the time to worry about that, What mattered was the fight at hand and hopefully that they made it out alive considering that this time they wouldn’t be able to respawn. Whilst gripping her wooden sword she thrusted it towards the nearby enemy followed with an upwards slash once it made contact though for whatever reason more and more kept coming but they weren’t close enough to pose any threat. It was an endless onslaught that couldn’t be destroyed. But still, she continued. She had to, she needed to. It was either killed or be killed.
What caught her by surprised was his sudden hand around her wrist but mainly him pulling her towards the direction he was walking and without any sort of reluctance she followed. ❛ Do you even know where we’re going? ❜ She questioned. It wasn’t because she didn’t trust him or anything, he did save her after all, but merely because Hive City was a huge city and it was easy to get lost if you didn’t know which way to go. But, nonetheless she trusted him..
He couldn’t just stand idly by and watch her get hurt. Granted, she probably could’ve handled the guys if there were a few less of them. But even he would have had trouble with them in such great numbers. He kind of doubted that he would have been able to last long against them. Especially if they managed to get his arms pinned back or something.
His eyes followed her actions briefly as they happened about the same time as his own. Her questioning of the time he’d been here caused his brow to furrow. Now he was just going to second guess himself. “...Give or take a few minutes.” He was lucky enough to just stumble across her. It wasn’t as though he had his God Arc to let him know when there were other God Arcs nearby. Not that she had hers either. It didn’t matter, regardless.
“...No.” He didn’t know where he was going. He just knew one thing. “We’re going the opposite direction of those assholes. That’s all that matters, right?” That was all he needed to know, really. His gaze shifted around slowly, taking in his surroundings. It looked a little familiar. Like he’d been this way before. “I’m pretty sure the place where they put me to live is somewhere around here.” He glanced over his shoulder at her, carefully letting go of her wrist when he thought they’d gotten far enough away from the men who, luckily, didn’t seem to care enough to give chase. “Where are you supposed to be living at? Want me to walk you there? This place seems like a pain in the ass right now.”
It was only a few moments ago that she had arrived back at hive city however, she was not expecting anything of what she was seeing.. Everything was in complete utter chaos. Burning fire balls were flying from every direction as well as other different types of magic. Some individuals had their strength enhanced and what was worse was that it was all the NPC. How was it that they were able to gain the strength to wreak havoc in such a short amount of time? The mere idea was strange though probable at that, this was a city run by scientists after all so strange occurrences were bound to happen.
Still observing the city while processes what was happening she was suddenly caught off guard. Countless NPC just suddenly started surrounding her for no apparent reason. Though some were less hostile these ones had bloodshot eyes. They had eyes with the intent to kill and tear their the prey apart. Normally if she had her god arc it would have been the other way around but unfortunately she didn’t.
What made matters a lot worse was that just when she was about to grab her sword one of the NPC suddenly made way to strike her while the other reached for her wrist. She was expecting it to already make contact with her but just as it was inches away from her a hand suddenly grabbed the individual’s wrist and soon a sword was shoved through them rendering them useless. It was unknown whether it killed them but it was enough to stop them. What caught her eye or what caught her attention however when the figure spoke as well as the strands of blondish-white and a familiar insignia that belonged to them. And she knew full well to who it was. Her savior was none other than…
❛ S-Soma?! ❜ She said, confusion and astonishment evident within her tone. Could this be real? Was he really here? Or was this all just a nightmare? It didn’t seem like it but anything was possible. ❛ H-how did you…When did you get here? ❜
Shifting his gaze toward her, having not really made eye contact with the girl since he arrived to help her out of her sticky situation, he raised a brow slightly. One of the men turned to protest to his very presence, the other’s fist seeming to light up with some kind of power. But Soma’s fist found his face first. With a whip of his arm giving off a snap like a gunshot as it smashed into the other man’s face, his arm a mere blur with that single stroke of his arm. Before the opposing man even hit the ground, Soma had his attention back on his comrade.
“About...” He paused for a moment. His brow furrowing in thought, he turned his attention to his surroundings, as though expecting a clock to be hanging from the wall. “Shit.” He muttered, digging the tip of his wooden sword into the ground and leaning against it. He didn’t know how long ago it was. “Half an hour?”
That sounded about right. Half an hour and he already found her there, digging herself a hole with some idiots. It was only natural, he supposed. Soma reached forward, hand clasping down around her wrist before he turned, briskly walking the other way with her and leaving the remaining idiots behind to figure out what they were going to do. They could come after them but three of them had already been taken out with ease. And Soma didn’t even have a real weapon beyond the damn stick he held in his hand.
“This place already pisses me off.”
