[ There’s something that not a lot of people take into account here. Tony would likely have some form of bruising on his chest and abdomen. Yes, there is the suit of armor, but as has been made abundantly clear, when the armor’s off? All the nifty little internal inertial dampening systems (for lack of a better term, I can’t think of the one I’m looking for) shut off, making it (as Tony himself has said) a can.
There would also be large amounts of force in his fall, as he would have likely reached terminal velocity..
So when the Hulk catches him, no matter the amount of breaking he does, he’s still being stopped pretty rapidly.
Bruce goes approximately 6 floors in 2 seconds. The average office building floor is 10 feet, so that’s 35 feet per second (because I think it might be 7 floors, so I’m just gonna round up for once), or 23 miles an hour. In canon, Tony’s weight is 225 pounds, but I’ll pare it down to 200 for the sake of this argument. According to this, terminal velocity of a 6 foot tall, 200 pound man is 145 miles an hour. It only takes 700 feet to reach that speed.
So, assuming he’s hit 145 mph, Tony decelerated to 35 mph in the space five seconds, or approximately 22 miles a second.
No reason for this, I just think it’s pretty badass, and I live a Tony Stark appreciation lifestyle. ]
