if any post of mine gets big i hope its this one because i want people to realise how impactful the way amber heard was treated publicly. the day after the trial ended i had MY trial against the man who sexually assaulted me and my mental health was brought up to prove im crazy. they illegally obtained notes from my psych where he wrote i might have bpd. my ptsd was used against me, my creditably was shattered by my reactions despite things being admitted that matched my story. the way yall treated that woman was used against me too, and it will be used against thousands of women in court and people will believe we're crazy whores who just want to ruin men. and yall did this. never forget that

You’re so caught up in the fact that you’re a woman and don’t believe other women would do this. Ignoring the fact that the actual victim had to go through this to clear his name and so the world would see amd believe male victims too

you didnt even read the fucking post whore, i said "how she was treated publicly" which despite whether she was wrong, the way she was decided guilty by the public and mocked will have lasting irreversible effects on sa and dv cases for the next decade. i know youve probably never been abused, witnessed abuse, gone through reactive abuse yourself, or even gone through court for these things but as a bitch that's been raped, id probably throw a couple dishes and slice a finger or two and feel a sense of happiness too. can you even imagine being raped by your husband multiple times and then sitting in court thats being taped and broadcasted live in a defamation case bc you said you were abused on your own terms. i hope someone pushes you off a cliff

in 10 years, people are gonna look back at this depp-heard trial, realize how awful the misogyny surrounding it was, and say, “we behaved horribly.” yeah, leave me and others out of that ‘we’, because a bunch of us have been warning about how awful the disinformation is and how harmful it is for survivors to see. but ofc, any reasonable takes are drowned out by ridiculous things like a viral tweet of amber blowing her nose which has been framed as her ‘snorting coke in court’. you people have been behaving like demons and i can’t wait for your asses to realize how stupid some of you acted.

In 10 years we’ll be celebrating the fact that liars can no longer destroy lives. For every one jd v ah where the truth comes out there are many that are still preaching their innocence because she said they did it. The world is changing and we’re gonna see many more women abusers being brought to the light

Amber Heard had more evidence supporting her claims than most abuse victims have and yet that jury decided she defamed that man. I'm truly angry and disgusted. This has been a major setback for women and abuse victims.

It not a set back for victims. She had no actual proof of the horrific things she spoke of. She tried to play mind games and the jury saw through it.

This case and the societal response to it, the global bullying, mocking and hatred towards Amber is destroying VAWG, feminism & any progress we’ve made breaking down stigma of domestic/sexual abuse - either that - or we had never made any progress at all & we were in an echo chamber.

Last week was the first time a woman commented to tell me that her ex has started calling her ‘Amber’ as an insult.

Then another woman commented that her husband threatened her and when she cried, he called her ‘Amber’

I’ve started seeing more and more comments.

This morning I woke up to a comment from a woman who said her ex was screaming at her in front of their daughter so she asked him to stop screaming and lower his voice and he said ‘Ok Miss Heard’ and DARVO her.

The fact that these comments appear to be from women from different countries, different ages, different backgrounds and yet men are starting to use ‘Amber’ and ‘Miss Heard’ as an insult is fucking terrifying.

I keep finding myself questioning what the real agenda was of televising this trial, and the media coverage of it.

What was the real purpose of tearing apart a woman like this for the whole world to watch on YouTube and Tiktok with their popcorn?

The point was that the truth needs to be heard. Let’s not forget here in the states KD was judged and torn apart without a trial or telling his side. The UK case doesn’t hold weight in the states and amber wasn’t on trial in the UK the Sun was. So Jd got the chance to face his accuser(which is how our justice system is supposed to work) I see it’s ok to ridicule a man(even if you’re helping his abuser torment him)

sorry but i’ve decided i’m not going to shut up about the implications of the depp vs heard spectacle. it’s genuinely frightening how this is radicalizing people into thinking the legal system is FAVORED on the side of women naming their abusers and rapists when that could not be further from the truth. i’ve seen more incel propaganda repeated word for word in the last few weeks than i’ve seen in years. please PLEASE use your brains. this is bigger than stanning a single celebrity and hoping they ‘win’. Me Too, despite being localized around abuse in hollywood, had a measurable impact on how victims were treated outside of that sphere of power. this case and how people are reacting to it online will also have an impact. it’s just all so incredibly irresponsible.

Yeah more male abuse victims will speak out against their abusers and be fucking heard instead of being mocked and told “shouldn’t have pissed her off” male victims finally have a voice

it would have been one thing for depp and heard to both lose the defamation case and the defamation counterclaim. that i could understand, and would, arguably even, prefer.

but for depp to win this with a unanimous verdict is incomprehensible to me like… to do so he would have to prove both that the statements were not true (there is a lot of evidence, including witnesses to the abuse, that it did happen), that they were made with malice (heard had a lawyer actually look over the op-ed and followed all instruction), as well as proving damages (depp has been losing money for years, he showed up to set late and drunk/high, his movies were a flop, he assaulted people on set and in fact has an upcoming lawsuit, he blew cash by the millions recklessly on ludicrous things)

nothing about this unanimous verdict makes sense b/c even if you believed the first or second, there is no question that hollywod has no problems working with abusers and will cover for them! this is well known! the implication that an op-ed which didn’t name depp, which largely flew under the radar, and which disney itself didn’t take note of or knew about, was the thing to destroy his career and not his addiction, his behaviour on set and the lawsuits both brought against him and by him is insane!

the man ruined his own career, no one had to do it for him!

As you may be aware we had to close our DMs due to the uncontrolled abuse we were receiving. I am so sorry to all the survivors seeking help and solace in our DMs, but the death threats were escalating in violence and descriptiveness so we needed to close it for our own wellbeing.

I want to start by saying I am so sorry. I am so sorry to all the survivors who now feel completely helpless after this verdict. I am sorry to the victims who now feel they can't speak up about their abuse for fear of legal reprisal. I am so sorry to the silent victims who now feel like they won't be believed. I believe you.

This may be a dark thought, but one thing I want to make clear: please, do not hurt yourself or do anything you can't take back. I know it may seem like there is no hope, but we have no idea how this is going to turn out. She can appeal. Any settlement will be paid by her insurance, not by her directly. If anything, this gross miscarriage of justice and clear violation of freedom of speech could trigger a big legal reprisal and there may be organisations willing to represent her pro bono. I have already seen lots of prominent feminists and domestic violence organisations condemn the verdict, and the collective outrage could trigger real change.

All of us are worried about Amber's wellbeing. Thankfully she has a beautiful baby daughter to love and an incredibly tight network of friends and family that support her through everything.

I would also like to thank all of the people who have supported this blog -- allies, survivors, feminists, male victims, ex-Depp fans. We will get through this together and we won't stop fighting until Amber gets justice.

Regardless of your stance on the trial, you have to accept the fact that making memes and compilations and tik toks about it was fucking disgusting and has set back domestic abuse survivors several years.

This was a trial that was publicly televised for a reason and you took that to mean it was entertainment rather than something to take seriously.

It’s gross and disgusting and I wish everyone who contributed to it a very long trip to hell

aaron taylor johnson and charlie heaton were both groomed by older, more powerful women when they were new to the industry. terry crews spoke of being sexually harassed by an executive. brendan fraser was sexually assaulted and the experience was so horrible for him that it spiraled him into a depression, affecting his career. his assaulter never faced charges. the kevin spacey trial is coming up where he is being charged for sexual assault.

if you GENUINELY care for male victims, at least famous ones, you’d make some noise about these cases. however, these past few months, i have hardly seen a bolstering of these cases. instead i see a campaign of inappropriate memes and edits being made. is that your way to show you “care about male victims” lmao?? by making a mockery of a case discussing dv topics?? i think people like to hide behind the guise of caring about male victims when it’s really just an excuse to engage in inappropriate, obscene behaviors.

It’s difficult for you to understand because like amber you are an abuser that cannot stand it that a victim stood up and spoke the truth. They are celebrating because the truth came out and her lies were exposed for the world to see.
