I really can't stand the whole egg thing, the whole "this person is trans but doesn't know it yet" thing.
It just doesn't make any sense to me. We've all got rather narrow perspectives of life. To think that you could meet someone and know for sure that they're also trans, something they don't think is true themself, that's absolutely bizarre. And what's the basis? Is it the fact that they're gender non-conforming in how they present themselves? Is it that they have non-stereotypical interests in comparison to the gender expectations that are put on them? Is it that their personality doesn't align with the gender role they're supposed to fill? Is it that they've got negative feelings to do with how they're treated in society as a result of, say, being a girl/woman? Is it that they're attracted to the same sex? None of these things make someone trans.
My friend is absolutely convinced that I'm an "egg" rather than a woman (or more specifically, that I've gone back to being an "egg"), and I just can't make sense of his reasoning. Is it that I don't shave or wear makeup? Is it that I'm into video games? Is it that I don't abide by the gender expectations put on me? Is it that I've had complicated experiences as a woman, an autistic person, and a lesbian? Not a single one of those things means that I'm not a woman. He's known me less than 5% of my life, yet he's so certain he's got a better understanding of who I am than I do. It's ridiculous, not to mention immensely disrespectful.
My mum says it's immaturity, thinking you know someone else better than themselves, thinking that your narrow range of experiences and opinions can be perfectly applied to another person.
