im fairly new to like all of tumblr so work with me here as I figure out how this all works.

i write fanfic, mostly about how in love Sero and Iida are (in my head at least) on ao3

one of my fav SerIida hc’s is that Iida is a night owl and Sero is an early riser. specifically cuz it seems like it’d be the other way around.

I can absolutely see Iida being the one to not be able to go to bed before he gets everything that needs to be done, done. Have it be homework, studying, chores, or training. Tomorrow is a new day and he doesn’t want to fall behind.

While Sero, raised in a household without his mom for the second half of his life so far (another hc of mine teehee), and has been taught all the recipes his mom used to make for his family, would be up and at em before anyone else in his house to make breakfast and lunches for the day. I also can just imagine Sero getting very tired after 10pm, to the point that if he’s sitting idle for too long, he’ll start nodding off.

And now imagine late nights with Sero begging Iida to come to bed at least until he falls asleep, and then Iida can get back to whatever he was doing before, basically bargaining for cuddles.

Or them trying to watch a movie closer to midnight, and Iida having to check if Sero is still awake, and chuckle to himself when almost every time, he’s not.

And then early mornings where Iida wakes up to the smell of breakfast on the stove, and when he walks out to the kitchen, the sight of his lover happily cooking away with nothing but love.

Or even better, Sero trying and failing to get a weirdly stubborn sleepy Iida out of bed for any other reason than work. He’s tried kisses, food, favors, or even more ‘mean’ tactics like ripping the covers off the bed, or rubbing his ice cold hands over Iida’s back.

Just to expand a bit just bc f*ck it why not.

The way I imagine Iida in the morning is basically how I imagine a car starting its engine (omg that’s his quirk woahhhhhh) for the first time in the morning, after being idle for 6+ hours. It takes him a minute after waking up to actually wake up, and then a few more minutes to finally become his usual self again, like how an engine performs better as it warms up 😸.

And then there’s Sero, my reasoning with me headcanoning him as an early bird being a bit more like.. silly. It’s his aesthetic, the earthy tones that focus on yellows and oranges. Ig ive subconsciously started associating him with the sun bc of that, and now in my head he’s up with the sun and is practically down with it too.
