:D
Hi everyone,
We just finished recording the song (badly) and we're putting the finishing touches on both our song and the video to go with it so hopefully very soon we will be uploading it to the internet! CELEBRATION :D!
We also heard back for UNICEF and we are not able to directly transfer funds so we have to do it via a separate account which will take some time to figure out, until then we will continue to raise awareness by measuring downloads/ views so please listen to it :D

The Girl Effect is a brilliant insight into poverty and specifically Girls in poverty and how they can become empowered :)
UNICEF Event for Goingforgreen and Greenfreak
Hi Everyone,
As part of the project we've been talking about goingforgreen and our friends greenfreak.tumblr.com are writing and recording a song about poverty.
Our aim is to upload this song to itunes and donate all of the proceeds to charity, and we are currently figuring this out. We are also creating a video of images of poverty to go with the song which we will upload as soon as possible.
Our deadline for this project to be complete is the 9th next week, but we hope that people will continue to donate money by buying our song on itunes, or by spreading the link to the song/video and continuing to raise awareness and inspire donations.
We have nearly finished the music, all we need is the vocals and to put the rest of the song together, however this cannot be done till early next week.
Keep checking back for updates and when the project is online we will add links to both of our tumblrs.
Please also visit http://greenfreak.tumblr.com/ for the other people involved in this project

Changing the World
Hello everyone :)
Today we have chosen UNICEF as our target charity, and we have emailed them in regards to the transfers of funds from itunes to the charity directly, we are hoping to hear back from them soon :)
You can visit the UNICEF website at http://www.unicef.org/index.php :)
We are still working on our presentation for the music, however we are also considering putting it forward for our final assembly of this school year that is in a few weeks. We are still planning to record the vocals after our exam week and to continue to work on the video as well.
Hopefully we will be admitted by itunes and we can work out the details with UNICEF to ensure maximum amount of money and awareness is raised.

The Silent Evolution by Jason Decaires Taylor
completed in november 2010, ‘la evolución silenciosa’ is an underwater museum that can be visited by snorkeling and scuba diving visitors, but it was designed specifically to function as an artificial coral reef. although the most recent sculptures have only been in place for about two months, they already show the significant growth of algae and the beginning development of coral, and are already frequented by lobsters and thousands of different fish.
Biodiversity meets Aqua Culture
Hi :)
These past few weeks we've been studying biodiversity and aquaculture,
Wikipedia defines Biodiversity as : Biodiversity is the degree of variation of life forms within a given ecosystem, biome, or an entire planet. Biodiversity is a measure of the health of ecosystems. Greater biodiversity implies greater health. Biodiversity is in part a function of climate. In terrestrial habitats, tropical regions are typically rich whereas polar regions support fewer species.
Aquaculture is defined as : Aquaculture, also known as aquafarming, is the farming of aquatic organisms such as fish, crustaceans, molluscs and aquatic plants.[1][2] Aquaculture involves cultivating freshwater and saltwater populations under controlled conditions, and can be contrasted with commercial fishing, which is the harvesting of wild fish.[3] Mariculture refers to aquaculture practised in marine environments.
Although i was aware of Aquaculture previously, i hadn't really looked into it that much and with the world's current rate of overfishing and general consumption of resources, i think it's a pretty good idea :) If done right it's profitable, doesn't harm the environment and actually helps species of fish survive, so what do you think? good or bad?
