amidamaru rarely showed an interest in strangers, ever loyal in his duty to be a steadfast samurai to his master. still, he was excitable at heart ( try as he may deny it ) and the sight of a man quite literally pulling a sword from thin air was enough to make the spirit fly off to get a closer look. amidamaru, unfortunately, hadn’t expected the man to actually be capable of seeing ghosts, and his giddy shouts did not go unnoticed.
“ I’m sorry. I think he got excited to see you summon swords like you did. He’s been restless since our own katana got taken away. ”
yoh could understand his partner’s feelings. even if he wasn’t one to openly express discomfort, not when he was ever the type to keep others reassured and content in his place, yoh could feel that quiet anxiety crawling in his stomach. not having harusame by his side was unpleasant. the sword that had helped them through so much, a blade forged by amidamaru’s best friend that had become an essential part of the ghost’s existence as a seirei-class spirit — that kind of weapon wasn’t something easily replaced.
“ Still, that was cool. Are those swords spirits as well? ”
