Thoughts:

I HC that Tien’s first crush then love was Yamcha. He’s never felt that way towards anyone before. I imagine that he also did like Launch at first cuz she flirted with him (it’s normal to like women, not men, right???), but it wasn’t the same feelings with Yamcha. Definitely had the whole “why do I keep thinking about him??” thing going on LOL Eventually, his romantic relationship with Launch didn’t work out and he just kept falling more into his love for Yamcha throughout the years. He was also fully content with their friendship cuz he didn’t think Yamcha would ever reciprocate his feelings. 100% Tien is on the AroAce spectrum. I hate that Launch was forgotten for most of DB, but I like to think that even tho it didn’t work out they’re still friends and she visits them on the farm sometimes 😭

Yamcha on the other hand thought of Tien as a good friend until they all went to King Kai’s planet. Then he started noticing that he really likes being around Tien, but he didn’t think much of it. He just thought he really loved him platonically (cuz he’s supposed to like women, right???) then proceeded to try to brush off those feelings until he started spending more time on the farm. I HC that Yamcha is bi and also on the ace spectrum!

The farm was the catalyst LOL I HC that Tien started his farm during the seven year time gap after the Cell arc. Also that Yamcha and Tien stayed in regular contact throughout the seven years cuz wdym everyone didn’t see each other for SEVEN years?? 🫠 Idk if Yamcha or Tien ever have an initial “confession” to start becoming romantically involved, I feel like they just eventually made their feelings known somehow. They’re super close to each other, but I feel like they’re both still shy about romantic intimacy, at least at first (especially Tien). Then comes Super where they’re both comfortable together and are now a cute old couple, it’s what they both deserve 🥹 They also don’t need to tell the others cuz they all thought Yamcha and Tien have been dating since the Cell arc at most LOL 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️

Thoughts:

I love to HC that Yamcha helped Bulma out when she was pregnant with Trunks. Sure she has a lot money, but having a friend (and her parents ofc) there supporting her is important, too 😌

It’s also so nice to see that Bulma and Yamcha are the besties ever 💕 I personally HC that Yamcha visits Capsule Corp a lot and that he’s close to the entire family. Honestly, I have a lot of HCs for these characters 🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♀️
