what do people think about dragons. so far I have found nobody in my life who thinks dragons are cool. I am alone in the world of enjoying dragons. it's so sad. so I am sending this message out into the world, hoping to find maybe one person who also likes dragons
In the dead of night Lockheed was deep in slumber, he had just built himself a secluded cottage far away from any nearby civilization the prior day. Then in the distance he heard a rumbling sound that shook the ground and the house around him. After the initial commotion he ran over to his window, just to see the remnants of what seemed to have been a green comet, a long green streak through the sky and a glow off in a distant field. For a moment after there was nothing but silence back to only the noises from the insects and other such things like that. What could that thing have been? There was no way a comet was normally green, maybe it was just something that was in the comet that caused such an unusual color. But whatever it was he needed to go see what fell from the sky.
Slowly he got himself ready and walked out of his house, the eerily still night air hitting him, and cold grass under his claws. Something was off, a dense jungle had sprung up that wasn’t there before, covering the view of where the comet had landed, mist covering any crack that was open. It was so much easier to just leave and make his way back to his house and forget what he saw, but something was drawing him in, a want to explore and find out what was pulling him towards the forest. Maybe fate, maybe just his curiosity. There was one thing for sure though, as he took his first step into the mist, he knew there was no going back.
As he walked into the dark mist it was somehow so much colder than outside his breaths sending clouds of fog out his maw. It was so cold and so quiet that he could hear every crunch of the leaves and plants under his claws. The thumps of his heart got louder and louder as his fear grew on what he might find in this mist, or what might find him. But as he walked more and more, he went from walking to running, and from running to sprinting. he couldn’t see anything like he was trapped, dodging through trees and branches, his heartbeat sounded louder and louder it was so loud yet so quiet, and he looked back he could swear something was following him as he ran! Before he turned back, he slammed head first into a tree, knocking himself out.
He was out cold and dreaming, yet something called to him, telling him to get up, to keep going. That he couldn’t stop now. Whatever that thing was in his dream it had a green glow… taking the form of another dragon. He woke up slowly, opening his eyes and getting up. He looked around, completely lost in the fog, scared and alone he curled against the tree. But in the mist he saw something, a green glow! As he saw this glow he walked towards it. It was strange, but he felt that he was tied to this glow, that this glow meant safety and love. As he got closer and closer the mist became less and less dense. Soon enough it completely cleared, and there he was standing at the edge of the massive crater of this comet. But what he saw was no comet, no. In the middle stood an absolutely massive dragon! At just over 141 feet tall giving off this warm green glow, that same glow he felt pulling him, this dragon had its front claws in the ground it seemed to be giving energy and life to this planet, he was the reason this forest had sprung up.

This story begins in two different places, but around the same time. This story is about two dragons thrown into roles very different but roles that they were never ready for. One was thrown into the role of adulthood while the other was thrown into the role of a god, at first it may be confusing as to why we must talk about these two but their fates are intertwined. Let's talk about the first most important dragon; one with dark blue scales and glistening red eyes, and This dragon's name was Lockheed. He just turned the age where he should be considered an adult on his planet, and had to go out into the world and make a name for himself.
Now let's talk about the other dragon, the one with black scales and green fur. This one was thrown into the role of a god at the age of 15,000 and by his species standards he was still rather young for the role; yet he had no parents to tell him otherwise. His first assignment in this godship was to find a desolate abandoned planet and bring life to it. That my friends is where our story begins, because turns out the planet our green friend chooses he never really checked all too well if it had life or not. As we are soon to see, this is where his friendship with a certain blue dragon starts, which will set the course to change both of their lives forever!
A few miles from Bronzewick, in a quiet forest of large pine trees laden with snow, a lone dragon was trudging through the snowfall. The dragon appeared rather small and young; their head was just barely above the snow drifts. Their four teary red eyes were roving about the landscape, looking for shelter. Their shining dark blue scales stood out among the snow, along with their black underbelly and a deadly looking black spear on the tip of their tail dragging on the ground. They had no indication of ears, and their horns were simple and black, curving back slightly until they ended in a dull point. Their wings were a bit large for their rather lithe body.
The snow began to fall more heavily and obscured the ground in front of them as they trudged on, the snow piling higher as a blizzard set in. They were freezing cold and exhausted from how far they had walked; they needed a place to shelter in soon or they would freeze to death. Luckily, their infrared vision saw a source of heat up ahead, glowing and bright among the cold snow. ‘A house maybe?’ they thought, and trudged towards it with renewed hope.
Suddenly, the ground beneath them vanished, and they faltered and tumbled down the steep slope; Until they hit a tree, and snow fell on top of them in a thick layer, completely burying them… They were feeling cold, so very cold… They were starting to lose feeling in their tail and wings, their vision getting blurry… They heard the crunching of snow nearby and called out for help feebly, before falling unconscious.
A large green dragon had been trudging alone when they heard a crash and breaking of wood over the roar of the blizzard. He went to find out what it was, before hearing a weak call for help from a child, and digging around in the snow until they found them terribly frostbitten and deathly cold; and rushed home carrying the little one.
The young dragon began to stir, their senses slowly coming back to them… They felt warm as there was no cold snow… They opened up their eyes, finding that they were inside a house. The blanket atop them held the heat of a nearby fireplace. A yellow dragoness was walking over with a damp towel, and spoke, “You're awake! Take it easy dear, we were worried you were out in the snow too long. But it appears my husband got to you just in the nick of time.” The dragoness had a kind and warm personality that made the young dragon feel safe. The young dragon nervously spoke, “T-thank you ma’am…” The dragoness spoke again. “You can just call me Vinca sweetheart. What's your name?” Vinca asked gently. The young dragon spoke again, but rather quietly this time “Lockheed… my name is Lockheed.”
Vinca laid the towel on Lockheed's head, and spoke once more “A lovely name. Where are your parents?” Lockheed looked away at that, looking sad and staying silent. She looked sympathetic, and said in a gentle voice “Oh… I'm sorry to hear that… You can stay here if you'd like, at least until the storm passes.” Lockheed nodded quietly, relaxing and enjoying the warmth, laying their head down. Vinca walked back over to where they were, before a door opened. The same green dragon from earlier walked in from the snow outside, carrying firewood. “How's the kid doing?” they asked; their voice was deep, but it was also gentle. “You can ask them yourself dear” She responded, gesturing to Lockheed. The green dragon nodded and walked over to the fireplace, setting the firewood aside as Lockheed eyed them up and down The green dragon, sitting beside Lockheed, asked “How are you feeling?” The green dragon's voice was soft and amiable, and their golden eyes were full of kindness. Lockheed responded quietly, but gratefully, “Warm… Thank you for saving me…” The green dragon nodded, then responded plainly “It's no trouble. My name is Dovah. What is yours?”
Lockheed sat up, their head leveling with Dovah’s. “Lockheed…” Dovah nodded, then went over to Vinca, and she spoke quietly to him. “He has no family to return to, honey”
Vinca shook her head “None… perhaps we could be his new parents?” she replied.
Dovah looked at Lockheed, then back to Vinca “If he desires that, but let's give him a little bit, kid looks awfully scared.” he whispered.
Vinca nodded “once the storm clears, he can choose to either leave or stay.” Dovah agreed, then went over to the fireplace and laid down.
Lockheed listened to the pair talk—he could understand what they were saying but couldn't believe it… ‘Why are they so kind? Is it some sort of act to torture him?’ he thought, but he looked at them again,—they were so much different than… them. ‘Or maybe, they really are just this kind… Then it would be best not to stay, I am not worth their kindness.’
After a while Vinca gave him some food, and he waited for the two to go to bed, but he had no such luck. He was far too tired from his journey, so he fell asleep. The next morning he awoke, still wrapped in blankets and staring at the dying embers of the fire. He unwrapped himself and headed for the door, opening it up to leave, only to find Dovah standing in the doorway.
He looked momentarily surprised, “Oh! Hello little one, leaving so soon?”
Lockheed looked nervous, and didn't respond, so Dovah decided to try and ease their worries
“It's alright, I figured it would be better for you to recover your strength—after all you nearly froze!” He chuckles to himself softly, then looks at Lockheed, concerned “Might I ask, what were you doing out there all alone? My home is quite far from the nearest village, and I’ve never seen you there before.”
Lockheed looks at Dovah, and responds shakily “I-I was looking for somewhere to warm up… my old home is… far…” his expression saddens as he tears up, but continues “it was warm, but the people were cold… they tried to hurt me… so I ran…” he sniffles a little.
Dovah listens quietly, his expression sympathetic. “It saddens me to hear that, and I want you to know that if you want… you could have a home here, but for the time being stay a while, rest… you need it.”
Lockheed nods, sniffling again then sneezing… perhaps it would be best to stay, he felt terrible to say the least
Vinca poked her head from around a corner “Oh dear, seems you caught a cold” she walks over and gently guides him back in front of the fireplace, as Dovah comes in and closes the door behind him, putting a few more logs on the fire
“Can't be going anywhere when you're sick, not with this awful weather! I'll help you get better little one” Vinca said, laying blankets back on him as she went off to the kitchen.
Lockheed lay there, next to Dovah… ‘maybe I should stay, at least until I get better… they are quite kind… warm, instead of cold…’ he thought to himself, laying down, and finally, for the first time in a long time… relaxing.
