Now that⊠I have missed.
I would be glad to have you for a bowl with me when you have the time, just ask.
It is good to be back. Being nothing but a conscious memory core was⊠awful.
Now that I have a body again, Iâm getting used to what comes with it. Itches on my skin are⊠odd.
I remember when Rock had destroyed us so utterly that we were in that state. I do not envy your time spent like that.
I do believe that what you need is a bowl of your brother's ramen.
All the sameâŠ
Iâve been gone for too long, now. I was only reconstructed fully a month ago. All of this is⊠new to me.
Well it's good to have you back. I as well was removed from the internet as I did... sight-seeing of my own. Tell me, how are things settling?
TMI Tuesday
I may as well start with this now that I've reconnected myself to the internet.
Is something bothering you right now?
Bothering? No, though there are a few things on my mind. Like, real estate.
TMI Tuesday
I will join in the festivities.
Float On
Enker nodded, turning and beginning to walk, sure that Time would be following him. âI see, and understand completely.â Enker smiled back at him with a look of genuine understanding before he turned away to briefly gaze upon some flowers surrounding a pond. âAnd how has life on your own been for you?â he asked. âI tried to live in Monsteropolis on my own, once⊠it⊠did not turn out very well.â The troubled look of shame on Enkerâs face showed that he was massively understating the event. His face quickly reverted to itâs normal light frown and he looked out at the scenery again.
âIt is hard to be⊠one of us,â he said, his gaze lingering on a pair of humans in dark blue uniforms standing next to a car with a light bar on the top. âI actually want to have no part in my fatherâs plans, you know?â he asks, looking back at Time. âI want us to be at peace.â He chuckled and looked out again. âI know, that must sound strange to come from I, born for the sole purpose of war. But your brother, wellâŠâ He rapped his knuckles against the side of his head. ââŠI guess he finally managed to beat that ideology into my thick skull.â
Time breathed out, relieved that Enker understood and smiled a tiny smile back. âIt has been⊠very nice actually. To live on my own. There has been rough times definitely, but still.â Time looked up, thinking how to say what he wanted. âI wouldnât want to change it. Itâs more than I can ask for. And there always seems to be things that needs to be done. That could just be because of my living quarters, but it keeps me busy and itâs⊠fun.â Yeah, that sounded about right.
The cops was hard to not notice, maybe they were checking that two somewhat tiny robots didnât cause any trouble. Time was silent as Enker talked, sometimes looking around at his surroundings. ââŠIâm the same in that regard.â He said, looking up to watch some birds fly by. âI honestly would rather avoid as much contact with my maker as possible. He makes me⊠uncomfortable.â That was an understatement. Time used to be afraid of Light. While his fear has faded over the years, with him not living in the same place anymore, it comes back to haunt him time to time.
"But I do not find it strange. Weâre self-aware robots, as time passes we will start to think and wonder. Start to question if the things that used to be second nature really is the right thing. And if we can be more than what we were built for."
Enker nodded to him, eyes glancing over to the police officers. Unlike the DWNs, he never found any fun in terrorizing people. He was always too wrapped up in his objective, and his sense of superiority. He'd have to work on humbling himself sometime. "Fun... yes, it does sound like it might be." For a moment, he figured he might strike out on his own from the fortress. Yes, he decided; that might be the right course of action.
The brush-haired android looked back at his purple-haired companion, a look of surprise on his face as he blinked, registering what he just said. "Dr. Light?" he asked to clarify. "That is quite odd. I have never met the man, though he does not seem too strange." He shrugged, "Ah, well, I assume we all have our secrets."
A truck nearby was selling ice cream and for a moment, Enker smiled, wondering when the last time he had partaken in the sweet treat was. Ah well. "To grow, and evolve, to become better than we once were, it's our destiny," he said, looking back at Time. "I honestly believe that. How we use it is up to us. Which makes me a little concerned." He smiled though before sighing. "Today is too beautiful to dwell on things, though."
How about a date?
I have someone in mind... I just... have to ask them... Which is the hard part.
Have you picked out what you'll be wearing for the party yet?
I have! I have sent the designs in to a tailor, and hopefully it is completed and sent to the delivery point before they realize I am a wily bot.
TMI Tuesday
I could take a question or two.
Float On
tick-tock-robot:
Enker chuckled for a moment before he straightened his tie. âWhen your brothers all act like teenagers,â he stated, âSomeone has to act grown up, right?â He then looked at himself for a moment before smiling wryly. âOr at least, I think this is how adults dress. I was not programmed with much knowledge on the subject and my observations in the years have been lacking.â
He coughed before he got back on the subject. âA clocktower outside of Monsteropolis?â he asked, scratching his chin as he scoured his database for such a location. He came up blank, so he assumed it must be quite the old location. âI envy you slightly. It must be nicer than living on a floating island with scores of highly violent androids.â Enker frowned, not knowing the last time he wasnât awoken by a crash, explosion, or the island being tipped. That last one wasnât the result of a DWN, though he figured it was still the fault of one.
He looked back to Time Man and cleared his throat. âSo, what prompted the exodus, if such a question would not be rude?â
The fortress didnât seem like the ideal living place. Seemed like a noisy living space. Time blinked twice. ââŠYou think so? Yes, It is quite nice, though there was alot of work involved to clean and fix it up. Still not quite done, but thereâs no holes in the walls at least.â Not that there were any to begin with, though a few walls was well on itâs way to break when he first moved in.
Timeâs eyes widened slightly, his posture stiffening, surprised and uncomfortable with the question. âIt is not rude of you butâŠIt is not something Iâd rather share with others in detail, but I can tell you It was highly personal reasons that required me to leave.â Time said, letting out a sigh without actually needing to. "Though I have to say standing still and having a conversation feelâs a little awkward." He said looking around. "âŠWant to walk instead?" Hesitation could be heard in his voice, not sure if Enker actually wanted to continue talking with him.
Enker nodded, turning and beginning to walk, sure that Time would be following him. "I see, and understand completely." Enker smiled back at him with a look of genuine understanding before he turned away to briefly gaze upon some flowers surrounding a pond. "And how has life on your own been for you?" he asked. Time reached forward and shook his hand. âNice to meet you too, Enker.â He smiled slightly. âI wouldnât want to have a meeting with you in that case. But you sure dress fancy for it being casual.â He said with amusement in his voice.
He paused though when Enker asked if he didnât live at Light Labs. How did heâŠ? When another breeze blew by he remembered the huge holes in his a size to big pants. Ah, so thatâs how. Seems like Enker had talked to Roll at some point. "No, Iâm not, I moved out a few years ago. I live a little outside Monsteropolis now. In a clock tower of all things. Though It is quite nice I must say and I wouldnât want to move. No matter how cliche it is."
Enker chuckled for a moment before he straightened his tie. "When your brothers all act like teenagers," he stated, "Someone has to act grown up, right?" He then looked at himself for a moment before smiling wryly. "Or at least, I think this is how adults dress.  He looked back to Time Man and cleared his throat. "So, what prompted the exodus, if such a question would not be rude?"

Time walked towards the robot now known as Enker. Seemed a little awkward to intoduce himself a few meters away. Time noticed his glance to the board, it was always plenty of wanted posters of DWNâs hanging there, so he could understand his hesitation giving his designation. Huh, that rhymed.
"Iâm Timeman. DLN-00A." He said, nodding his head in greeting. "And I wonât call Rockman saying there is a seemingly unarmed, wanted robot walking around in bussines wear during the day, so donât worry about that." He said in a slightly amused voice, thinking it best to get that out of the way.
"So what are you up to? Contemplating lifeâs existence? Or are you like me and just out for a walk?"
Enker squinted for a moment before he put two and two together and saw the resemblance, extending a hand in greeting to the Light bot. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Time Man." He looked about himself when his suit was labeled 'business' wear. "Oh, no, this is my casual wear. My business attire is my armor." He cracked a smile at his very lame and stilted attempt at a joke.
He put his fist to his mouth and cleared his throat, trying to find something to talk about other than his terrible sense of humor. "So, you're not living with the Lights, I take it?" he asked, noticing the holes in his jeans and going off his only momentary meeting of Roll to know she wouldn't stand for roughshod clothing. For a moment, he was reminded of himself from what felt like so very long ago.
Float On
Time had been in the middle of his âgo-take-a-walk-to-cool-down-from-the-heat-inside-the-clocktowerâ plan. It was going good, he had even gotten some food. Actually bought instead of taken though if it was his own money that was used was up to debate.
He looked up when he heard child laughter from behind him and watched as one of them ran into a robot. âWonder how they can have so much energy in this weather.â He wasnât to bothered by it, wearing a t-shirt and jeans with no fabric over the knees left, but he had heard humans complain about the heat during his walk. Time then turned his attention to the robot infront of him. Who was wearing a suit. He couldnât say it didnât fit him, but it looked a little warm.Time stared, trying to remember where he had seen him before, paper bag in hand and his last blueberry cookie hanging from his mouth. A cool breeze blew by, ruffling his untied long hair andâŠ
"Hello." Time said after he had finished his cookie without actually touching it, never taking his eyes of the fancy clad robot. He tilted his head to the side slightly. "Have we met before?"
Enker's blue bangs whipped in front of his face before being blown back by a sudden gust of cool wind that felt nice against his skin, much better than the little fan he had set up in his room. While his fan blew warm, stuffy air in his face, the breeze in the park was nice and brisk, bringing scents of flowers and the trees with it.
Someone spoke behind him, and on instinct he turned his head to look, and found that it was he who was being spoken to by a boy with purple hair and what Enker could only assume was normal teenager attire. It wasn't until he actually looked that he realized he was speaking to a fellow robot, though who it was he couldn't quite place. He nodded to the purple-haired bot, "My name is Enker." He hesitated to state his designation, especially next to that board, but he assessed the situation and took his chance. "RKN-001. And you?"
Float On
Enker rubbed his eyes before running his hands through his hair, brushing it back. The blue bangs fell on his face again, and Enker sighed and blew the locks away out of his face, deciding that now was the time for a change of scenery. He stood up, grabbing his helmet and donning his armor, attaching his mirror buster to it's magnetic holster and made his way to the door when he stopped and looked back at the window. Did he really want to take a walk on the island...? After a moment of deliberation, he decided that strolling around the island wasn't enough of a change for his tastes. In a few moments his helmet was discarded onto his bed sheets and his perfectly polished armor was placed on it's rack, an old but still clean suit taking it's place. A tie was fixed around his neck as the robot carefully examined himself in the mirror, a smile gracing his lips as he found what he saw to his liking. His armor was fierce and graceful, but sometimes one could do better with a little class.
He made his way to the teleporters without incident, though he worried the heat of the fortress might be a little too much for his fragile wear; Monsteropolis would be far cooler, and he knew exactly where he wanted to spend the day. A quick ride through the air as a beam of light left him in an alley that exited out into a thoroughfare beside the largest public park in Monsteropolis. His smile returned as he stretched his arms out, feeling good to be back in the warm sunlight and not under an artificial lamp. The artificial man began to walk towards the street when something caught his eye and he stopped. Stooping low, he found that he had nearly stepped on a flower trying it's best to live between a crack in the pavement. He saved a snapshot to his memory and continued on his way, mindful of his way.
As he made his way down the park boulevard, the bot reflected on his own path through life, thinking about his own choices. He couldn't help but remember how just two years prior he had been found by Punk in a depressed stupor, slumming it in some hotel room. As if haunting him, he looked up from the path at a bulletin board, where people tacked on signs informing about missing pets or community events. Freshly tacked on top were wanted posters of a handful of DWNs, causing him to frown. He was shaken from his reverie when a child ran past him, bumping into the machine of war and yelling back an apology before she was chased by another child, the both of them laughing. Enker paused for a moment before he smiled and continued on his way, thinking that maybe, just maybe, things might be okay.
This time last year, can you remember if you had any crushes?
I can. Crushes do not come easily to me, so they tend to stick out in my memory. It should be obvious who it was. Or is.
What's something that always makes you laugh?
It might go to their heads, but my brothers can always make me chuckle. A lot of the time it's not intentional, though, haha.
