Echo of the mountains
still water holds restless hearts
awake in night and alive in silence
isolation is a natural landscape
quiet beauty of solitude
i look through the window and see the world breathing
the countryside cradles secrets of the soul
insanely specific location in manitoba and i cant remember where specifically it was but have you ever been to elemental stones? its a rock garden all put together by one guy on his property abt an hour south of winnipeg. i went when my job did a tour of it in august and it was so insanely beautiful i couldn't believe it was all hidden behind a tree line it felt otherworldly... genuinely recommend checking it out if you get the chance it is a guided tour you gotta pay for but holy shit its so cool
That’s so neat and unique that your work organized a tour to some rock garden in a guys house! I haven’t heard of it but I just googled it and read the free press article, it looks very cool!! I would love to do a tour of it but I don’t know if I can find 10 people to go with me.
This ask actually made me a bit emotional because I used to do most of these road trips around rural Manitoba with my father who unfortunately passed away this April but he would’ve LOVED that so much haha. He loved these weird unique experiences. We always went to rock quarries when I was a kid and we had like a rock polishing machine and he displayed all the rocks in glass vases around the house. I’m kind of sad I don’t get to experience the tour with him but thanks for letting me know about that! I will try to do it next summer :)
havent seen ur posts in a while! how's life? <3
It is okay, thank you for asking ! I am married with a baby now :)
Hi! Do you sell prints of your photography? I love the urbex stuff, really beautiful.
Right now, I am not really selling them but I might be able to do like a 5x7 or 8x10 if you really wanted!? Appreciate the interest! 🥰
I love your work! manitoba is so much more beautiful than people give it credit for. have you ever been out to steep rock? it's one of my favorite places in the province that nobody seems to know about.
Thank you so much! Steep rock is so stunning, I love how clear the water is compared to how muddy it is elsewhere in Manitoba. I don’t go there as often as I’m not the biggest fan of highway 6. The last time I drove there, I witnessed a pretty bad car accident and I had to call 911 then wait for the police to arrive. But there’s a very cool abandoned statue garden by Lemiez just before you reach Steep Rock! I also miss when they had the goat island there.

hello!! it's so cool to see you posting ur photography again :D!! i remember from scrolling ur blog a while back that you were considering getting a fuji x series camera. did you change ur mind and why? (sorry that ask I'm referencing was years ago but I'm just currently wrestling with the idea myself as a fellow film photographer haha)
Thank you! The new pictures I posted are from 2023 and I havent taken any film photos since then but I am having fun exploring my old photos I had forgotten about!
I did actually purchase the fujifilm X100V a couple years ago to try to get into photography again, but I really havent used it much at all. I took a few hundred photos from japan but i dont really love any of my photos from it! I think there are way too many settings for me and I get overwhelmed with digital photography. The fujifilm allows you to transfer all the photos to your phone immediately but i prefer to wait weeks for them to be developed and ihave seen some really great photos taken on them but for me personally, it was a purchase that I regret lol. I think medium format digital cameras take the nicest pictures but they are very expensive. I really enjoyed having like a photography community here but that kind of fell off.
Lovely blog, as a photographer you really inspire me, can't wait to visit the us, this will fuel my inspiration!!!
Thank you so much, it's so sweet you can find inspiration in some of these images! All of my photography is actually from Canada but the US looks so beautiful as well. ❤️
