Woman on my crew at work noticed me reading the goldfinch and said “I loved that movie!” So naturally I asked her what she thought of the book and she told me she hadn’t read it??? Which wouldn’t be notable with really any other movie except I thought the only people who’d seen the movie were people who were weird about the book and didn’t like the movie (see: ripe 24% on rotten tomatoes) and people who didn’t like the movie for non-book reasons (see: ripe 24% on rotten tomatoes). I think she may have unlocked an entirely original experience
